  1. You know what this isn't even worth it (I never thought I'd be arguing about TCA football, but there's a first for everything). You win, 1A football is more competitive than 2A. TCA has a talented team they'll do well this year in their region and in their classification. It should be a good game this Friday. Whoever said trousdale was a "horrible little country team"? Certainly not me, those are your words, not mine. Good luck Friday night.
  2. Thanks, you just helped me prove my point.
  3. Goodpasture (2A) just beat the 5A 2006 runner-up and 2005 champion Ravenwood, so it does happen, oh wait, they're 2A, they're not supposed to beat 5A teams. Surprise, surprise.
  4. True, like I said 7-3, 6-4, maybe even 5-5, but that still gets them into the playoffs in 1A and they still probably win a game, maybe two. Coach Marley doesn't even have a computer, and he also just got his first cell phone, so he's probably not too worried about CoachT.com right now, they're getting ready to play a game Friday, not reading CoachT.com.
  5. No, I don't go to USJ, but I've probably seen more 1A football games than Trinity has played in their history (pre and post multiplier). There was this small detail of the multiplier you may have forgotten about. Before the multiplier there were a number of teams (CPA, DCA, Ezell Harding, FRA, I can name more, but they'll do) that were 1A, but were forced to go 2A as USJ was. Those 4 teams alone make 1A much stronger than it is now. Also you may remember (you probably don't, you're not old enough) that prior to 1994 there were 3 classes period (no division II either). So you can see where I'm going, but I'll explain it more if your not getting it, just let me know. Did I ever say I was better than anyone? No, that was you. In fact, go back and see where I said TCA is a talented football team, I think Friday's game will be a great game. Both sides are well coached and will play hard. My point is this (and I guess I should have said this), go OUTSIDE (of course anyone involved in 1A will say 1A football is strong) of 1A football in TN and ask anyone, and they will tell you that 1A football is not as strong because of the multiplier, they basically took the problem from 1A and moved it to 2A.
  6. I keep forgetting this post is about the game, sorry, I think it will be a good game. TCA has some talent. I think people are underestimating USJ though, they have plenty of skill, athleticism, and size at receiver and running back. If their line can do a good job, the Bruins may win. It should be spirited game either way. Good luck to both.
  7. I'm not throwing stones, USJ doesn't live in that glass house any more. Let the lions come on up to 2A and get a taste, you'll see how different it is. If USJ is 1A the past two years they probably go 7-3, 6-4 and get to the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs. That's how big a step it is. Everyone now knows that 1a football really is a step above middle school because all the good 1A schools are now playing 2A. TCA will roll in 1A except for Fayette and when they play Bruceton in the playoffs.
  8. That won't be too hard for the church league they play in.
  9. It's called inference, reason (inductive), and association which they must not teach in Gibson Co (the high school not Milan High School). I'll give you a quick lesson. There are persons on this board who think that because in one game a few of USJ's players (of which all have graduated) made some poor decisions in their displays sportsmanship, that ALL of USJ athletes, coaches, parents, faculty, administration, and anyone associated with USJ is morally corrupt. Now, I used inductive logic to reason that since Michael Vick is an Atlanta Falcon and since he has since plead guilty to multiple felonies that all of the Atlanta Falcons are multiple felons (or, since you can't seem to grasp this concept here's and easier one: sharks are fish, sharks have teeth, therefore all fish have teeth). This is the same logic that some (not all) Milan supporters have used to infer in regards to the University School of Jackson. I have never called the Milan Bulldogs anything but talented.
  10. Were you on the field, or with the players when they walked to the locker room?
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Michael Vick is accused of abusing and killing dogs. Hence, the stereotyping of all Atlanta Falcons killing and abusing dogs. Just because he may have done it doesn't mean the whole team is in on it too.Who cares what color his skin is.
  12. You'll see as many Ferraris at USJ as there are at Milan. "None of the Milan posters are telling you we are going to beat anybody up or that you should be scared", Milan poster from this thread: "You better hope your players come out of the Milan game safe and injury free especially last year what USJ did to Austin Alred!!!" Hmm. The Hanson kid getting hurt is also USJ's fault too. "The reason for Milan not playing usj in other sports is simply that our administration doesn’t want to be associated with them anymore than they have to" So, one game in one sport with some incidents in it and all of a sudden ALL of USJ athletes are dirty? That's funny, because two years ago when the two teams played at usj that was one of the cleanest games I've seen with good sportsmanship displayed on both sides. Now the WHOLE school is bad? Guess the third graders can't play each other now. I'm glad Milan cancelled that middle school basketball game last year, I was worrried things would get out of hand. I'm shocked you let the middle school football team play USJ's in the Crockett Co. jamboree. Wow, I sure am glad I'm not a falcons fan because I would be pulling for a bunch of dog abusers. Like a said, milan is talented, good luck this year.
  13. USJ will be pretty good on defense, but they will struggle on offense. If they can go 5-5 that would be a great season for them. As for same song different verse: same for Milan - you guys have a great football team, you guys are thinking, "this is our year, best team we've ever had, we're wet TN football royalty, etc.etc." you'll go 9-1, 10-0 then get to the playoffs and get beat by one of the Nashville privates (Goodpasture, DCA, CPA etc.) or if you do get by one of them this year ALCOA awaits, and I've seen both of you play in the past two weeks, and you guys ain't no ALCOA by any means. So, good luck this year I do hope you guys do go far, it would be great for west tn. But please stop seeking out USJ posts and running them down, telling them how bad you're going to beat them up and how scared they should be - what's there to be scared of? There aren't any USJ posters getting on any Milan boards saying anything. You might think it's because they can't or have no reason to talk. It's because they don't care. Milan football to them is an extremely small and trivial subject in their lives. But if you would like to play their soccer team, or any other team for that matter, call them up, I'm sure they would love to play you. In fact I believe they have tried to call Milan and set up games for other sports in middle school and high school, but have been turned down. For what reason I don't know, none were given. Like I said good luck, you guys have one of the better teams in west tn, I hope you go far and represent west tn proudly.
  14. KublahKD I agree. If USJ were to go DII they would be sitting on a gold mine (for the reasons you stated - facilities, educational opportunities, etc.). As for how they'll do - they'll have to battle to finish in the middle of the region and to compete with the glorious and almighty bulldogs.
  15. USJ wins 4-2. Doesn't matter how big and bad - bottom line USJ wins, Marshall Co. doesn't.
  16. Here's the deal. Coach Dyer really could care less what's on that website. If you want to know who is hitting where, what and when, call him, he'll tell you. He's not trying to hide anything from anyone, they're going to come after whoever they play. Top to bottom they're all great hitters. Don't expect a shut-out win from Marshall Co. tommorrow. It'll take at least 10 in my opinion to beat em'. Good luck to both tomorrow.
  17. District 14AA 2007 Regular Season All-District Team Haywood - Johnny Turner, Keon Toliver North Side - Jay Lowery, Zach Cummings, Brent Goode Covington - W.T. Bailey, Russell Hardwick, Drew Moss Ripley - Wade Vandergriff, Allen Hargett, Ryan Seaton, Khayyan Norfolk USJ - Preston Overbey, Danny Grimm, Will Glenn, Clayton Gant, Benjie Fesmire MVP (Regular Season) - Josh Liles USJ District 14AA 2007 All-Tournament Team Haywood - Alston Owen North Side - Josh Parker, Jay Lowery Ripley - Tyler Rodgers, Allen Hargett Covington - Russell Hardwick, Drew Moss, Jake Winberry USJ - Preston Overbey, Will Glenn, Josh Liles, Clayton Gant Tournament MVP - Jon Wills USJ
  18. Thanks, I'll tell coach dyer you're pulling for ALL of them.
  19. This is about what's best for USJ's TEAM. Again, if your #2 is available to pitch in a championship game, what would you do? Yeah, everyone on this team has pulled their weight. Should we talk about Will Glenn, Kyle Bryan, or Benjie Fesmire not getting as many at bats as Liles, Grimm, or Overbey? No, because the TEAM is successful. If # 3 has to wait 3 weeks, then so be it. If it helps USJ achieve their goals, then so be it. This team is so talented top to bottom, every young man on that team deserves to be there. Lost in all this is John Wills, like someone said earlier, what a great kid and baseball player, but should he be batting ahead of Liles or Overbey - no, because it's where his team needs him to hit - he's a big reason for 34-5 right now along with everyone else. I'm friends with all of them, doesn't matter, or does it in this case. Is that why we're talking about this?
  20. Who cares? USJ won in a dominating performance. No one was snubbed. If your #2 pitcher is rested and ready to pitch, why wouldn't he pitch in the championship game? Overbey (7-2) and Fesmire (9-0 - I assume this is who you're talking about) are both great, great pitchers, so who cares who pitched, they won, end of story. Last time I checked pitching your #2 pitcher in a championship is not throwing a wrench into anyone's machine.
  21. I don't have any problem with any of the teams that compete against USJ. It's when people start to attack people with misinformation that I'm "intolerant of rivals". Have you ever met any of USJ's players? They are all great kids that work their tails off - they work just as hard as any team out their - even their "rivals". It's no accident they are successful. I wonder if your rhetoric would have taken place if your team would have won - my guess is no.
  22. DG I agree. USJ made more plays, or less errors (however you look at it). But that's baseball (or any other sport for that matter) - whoever makes more plays (or less mistakes) usually wins. In this case it was USJ. In my opinion (and that's what it is an opinion) USJ is the better team because the do make more plays when presented the opportunity (i.e. Josh's homerun). Either way, good luck the rest of the way, we'll see you again in the district undoubtedly.
  23. Hmm, I see. So with the absence of a factual rebuttal you've been reduced to name calling. Here's how a debate works: I state facts to support my argument, then you state facts to support yours, then we go back and forth. It's what this board is about. As you have called me arrogant, I could call you other things, but hence, we would be the same. As we know, we're not. The fact remains: USJ 21, RIPley 7 - USJ 2, RIPley 0. See you in the district.
  24. It's what the box scores list. Either way, let's not kid ourselves, the combined score was 21-7.
  25. Ripley only had 4 errors in the two games (3 monday, 1 last night) - errors weren't the difference.
