  1. I'll remember that for next year. $60 isn't that bad at all. Seems like they are giving up a lot of revenue they could easily get from selling the reserved seating tickets at the door. It's bad when you want to give someone money but they don't want to take it. I guess that's just more money I can spend on lemonade
  2. I never waste money on programs. How much do they cost and how far in advance do you have to buy the tickets?
  3. Does anyone know the story behind all those reserved but very noticeably EMPTY seats during the girls state tournament last week? I am guessing here, but it looked like about 10 rows with 250 seats with only maybe 25-30 people actually sitting in the seats the entire night. Do they have reserved seating tickets for sale? I would be willing to pay to be able to go to the bathroom or get something to eat without fear of losing my seat and having to go sit (or stand) behind all the students. And to the extent that the final games were televised, it must have looked like the place was empty. And while I am complaining they should ban poster boards from the stands. I had to endure the USJ-Peabody game sitting behind some extremently rude young girl from USJ blocking my and a lot of other people's view with some poster that absolutely nobody cared about- she could have shown more support and have been more beneficial by clapping and making noise.
  4. I just noticed that my previous post was a little on the negative side... I hate to be negative towards any teams on coacht. For the record, I was a little disappointed in how well Oak Hill Academy played against Louisville's Dupont Manual High, so I guess that puts BA in good company
  5. I went to Louisville to watch, among others, the BA Jeffersontown game and BA was a disappointment. Except for Wright, they seemed to be too young and not able to play Pitts' uptempo-hard press style. Science Hill may blow them off the court. BA has probably not seen the type of crowd for a non state tournament game that it will see at Freedom Hall. Does anyone know if the BA-DB game is going to be at Freedom Hall or are they going to play that one in Kingsport?
  6. I found the answers to my questions, so I will share the info with everyone: from The Louisville Courier Journal: The Manual High School boys' basketball team is 3-0, but the Crimsons have yet to face a test like the one they will have tonight. They will tangle with last season's consensus national champion, Oak Hill Academy of Mouth of Wilson, Va., in the 9:30 finale of the L&N Credit Union Blue Chip Shootout at Bellarmine University. Oak Hill (4-1), which had its 42-game winning streak ended by Homewood-Flossmoor (Ill.) in last weekend's Marshall County HoopFest, has nine players who are rated among the top 250 nationally by recruiting gurus. "We know they lost at Marshall County's event last weekend and will be in a bad mood when they come back to Kentucky, but us playing Oak Hill is a terrific growth opportunity for our players and our team," Manual coach David Zuberer said. Eric Devendorf (a Syracuse signee), K.C. Rivers (Clemson), Bamba Fall (Southern Methodist) and unsigned top-20 guard Jamont Gordon lead Oak Hill. The Warriors also have two of the nation's top juniors in Kevin Durant and Tywon Lawson. Manual is led by Justin Royles. The event's first game — Holy Cross vs. Portsmouth (Ohio) Clay — is set for 3:30p.m. West Jessamine will play Western at 5. Scott County coach Billy Hicks could get his 600th career victory in the 6:30 game against defending state champion Warren Central. The 8 o'clock contest will pit Jeffersontown and top senior Domonic Tilford against Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy, led by 6-foot-9 junior Brandon Wright, who is being recruited by both the University of Louisville and Kentucky. Tickets are $10. Oak Hill will stay in the Bluegrass State and play Pendleton County tomorrow at 7:30p.m. in the seventh of the Kentucky Bank Shootout's eight games at Bourbon County. Brentwood will play Bourbon County at 6p.m., while Pleasure Ridge Park will meet Lexington Paul Dunbar at 1:30 p.m. At 4:30, Mr. Basketball candidate Curtis Pulley will lead Hopkinsville against Cincinnati Princeton. The complete schedule: Bourbon County vs. Bracken County (girls), 9 a.m.; Harrison County vs. Fort Thomas Highlands, 10:30; Nashville Antioch vs. Frankfort, noon; Pleasure Ridge Park vs. Paul Dunbar, 1:30 p.m.; Cincinnati Princeton vs. Hopkinsville, 4:30; Bourbon County vs. Brentwood Academy, 6; Oak Hill vs. Pendleton County, 7:30; North Broward (Fla.) Prep vs. Paris, 9. A link to the article is http://www.courier-journal.com/cjsports/ne...e1210-3660.html
  7. Does anyone have details concerning the Bourbon County Shootout in Kentuky this weekend. I know Antioch, BA, and Oak Hill Academy are involved. I need schedule info and location info. I would like to go see OHA play.
  8. You will probably be waiting a long time to get any information from Smyrna's website. That don't have anything of use on their site as far as basketball is concerned. If anyone has an official smyrna schedule they could e-mail me, please let me know.
  9. As for predictions, Mt Juliet will probably win big tonight. On the other hand, a win by Smryna would not shock me. I think the real battle will be the January meeting between these two teams. Smyrna will have a chance to see what they are really up against and prepare.
  10. Does anyone know what time the girls game is scheduled to start? Is it 6:00 or 6:30?
  11. What are the game times? It would be nice if the schools in middle tennessee would update their websites to include this year's schedules and/or someone put the full schedules in coacht's database.
  12. dkmilk, you are not from east tennessee are you ? Playing the best teams he could find is how Pitts turned Science Hill into a national powerhouse. I am glad to see he is continuing that strategy at BA. This will his first trip back to Science Hill. I will definitely be traveling the 300 miles to watch that one.
  13. I have seen east and middle teams quite a bit and will have to say that middle TN teams are probably better especially the 5A Region 4 teams. However, east TN wins the contest win it comes to fan/community support.
  14. Actually, I just looked at the map and noticed that Fayetteville is pretty much in the middle of southern middle TN. So I guess as far west as Spring Hill will correct my statement. Now if you want to included basketball I have been as far west as Henry County (which is getting close to Union City).
