  4. East ridge is the dark horse....you better watch out...east ridge has sept 6 marked on there calenders i promise you
  5. I know the Pioneers have struggled this year but don't close the door on them yet. They are still fighting every week. Were up on Hixson early but young teams struggle when things go bad. This is a very young Pioneer team. Only 7 seniors on roster and only 4 combined returning starters, 2 on each side of the ball. They might not have enough experience yet but last week they learned how to compete for 4 quarters. As a fan and former player i am impressed with the direction of the program under first year coach Tracy Malone. Central better be ready to play for 4 quarters is all i have to say!! Go Pioneers!!
  6. I just want to say thank you to the TSSAA for finally trying to put a stop to this whole situation!! I think i speak for many people who realize that this isn't the first student-athlete that should not have been going to Signal Mountain when i say this is what you get Signal for stealing everyone's players. I wish someone had looked into Donnie Garner's real address last season and this may have been prevented sooner!!!!
  7. with a family...then on the weekends he would go back to east ridge to live with his family
  8. oh i love it ha ha ha ha...the only thing better would be if the tssaa was to look into donnie garner last year and take away there state championship because he lived with a family up on the mountain during the week and with his family on the weekend....cant wait to hear what signal mtn fan club excuses are on this one

  10. i like east ridge in this one...they have lost several in a row but they are dangerous team if they wanna be...they have speed and talent...should be a great game
  11. Lets get your thought on this games
  12. east ridge put up over 200 yards rushing against a much better team...i like east ridge oline in this one
  13. i like east ridge in this game ...i think east ridge speed will be the deciding factor in this game....i know boyd will be well coached...should be a great game
  14. who cares what you are ranked...it dont matter cause you are not going to win state and before you say neither will east ridge....so there....have fun winning in your weak district
  15. i not saying that east ridge was a good football team last year... they lost alot due to injuries. hixson played a great game againist east ridge... anybody can be beat on any givin friday night ..i was saying you would not have won state in 4a last year period....you were a 4a school playing in 2a....any 4a team could have done well in 2a playoffs last year and went deep in they playoffs....you should have lost round three you got outplayed by friendship...then after that it was a cakewalk....
  16. Barb i am sorry i clicked on the wrong reply...my bad
  17. you were a 4a school playing in 2a thats why you won a state championship....then you pass up 3a cause you scared of alcoa....come on up to 4a...i know for a fact you will not win state this season.....you will win your district because it sucks.... but you will not go far in the playoffs...oh yeah are yall still recruiting on the mountain...hope you enjoyed that mvp from the state championship even though he isnt a mtn boy
  18. Mtn Troll why did signal mtn pass up 3a in football?
  19. Greeneville is by far the best team in 4a i dont see alot of schools in 4a competing with them....they were by far the best team in the state last season...they had alot of depth last year...so signal mtn this isnt 2a anymore...you will be playing againist some darn good football teams
  20. personally i do not agree with having a bye at any level. i think it is stupid that the smaller schools have a bye. every team, i don't care who you are, whould have to win five games to win the state title. period. what are ya'll complaining about anyways?? its just gonna a glorified scrimmage for ya'll according to you. besides your school will make money off of the game too?? so get over it.
  21. I agree with the fact that it doesn't make alot of sense of having 4-6 teams in the playoffs. I am used to the old schooll system of the top 4 teams in a region making it and thats it. Period. But when you look at it now the top 32 teams have always made the playoffs and that is what happened this year. 4A as a whole is just not that strong this year when you look at the whole picture: Teams with given number of wins in regular season: 10 wins - 1 9 wins - 3 8 wins - 3 7 wins - 5 6 wins - 8 5 wins - 7 4 wins - 6 3 wins - 12 2 wins - 3 1 wins - 3 0 wins - 2 As you can see i make a good point, the top 32 teams has 5, 4 win teams in it. Do the math even if it was in the old system, a few 4 win teams would still be in. Go to tssaa.org and look at the week ten playoff standings and you can see in the first column each teams number of wins. thats where i got this information. compare 4A to 3A. You can easily see that as a whole the 3A classification is much stronger. 4A is on a down year this year. IT IS WHAT IT IS!
  22. Well that is the million dollar question. We were looking to return 11 starts on defense going into this season and only replacing 3 people on offense. Like i said before injuries have really hurt our team this year. Most people don't realize how bad injuries hurt you, for us we miss their talent and playmaking ability, but injuries to me hurt a team's chemistry more than anything...As a player when you don't have the guys out there with you that your are expecting to go to war on friday nights with, it really effects you. I feel like that has been the most challenging thing for us this year. When we are expecting to have tons of vetrans and leaders on the field and then we have to replace it with some inexperience and youth we had lots of growing pains this year. Aside from that topic that makes me want to throw up. haha. Key mistakes, inexperience some key injuries to other players have led to 4 of our losses. One of the other ones was a game everyone expected us to win by 40 and the kids just didn't show up, can't really explain that one. The other one was a result of being outplayed and having a little bad luck. All of the 4A teams in our region have beaten up on each other this year, and the only consistent teams in our region have been the two 3A teams in our region. Tyner and Howard were the best two teams in our region this year and i beleive they are ranked in the top 10 or so in 3A. So we played a pretty tough schedule you could say with i beleive 6 of the teams we played having winning records. I guess you could say this has been a season of QUICKSAND! THe harder you try to fight and figure out how to get out of the funk you are in, it seems like something else happens to make it tougher to get out of the trap! hope this helps!!
  23. Some of ER's key players haven't played a down this year. Seniors that had season ending injuries. One of which was bein looked at by Tennessee to play center. The other was his brother who had several smaller schools looking at him. But a good one to watch is Stefan Nelson, LB who as of last week according to unapproved website was leading the state in tackles and was third in the nation in tackles. Yes these are legitimate tackles. A little undersized but has an nose for the football. As for a kicking game, we have a pretty good one, Josh Fransisco can put it in the endzone on command and consistantly makes 45+ yard field goals in practice, we haven't attempted many in game this year. He is also very concistant with his punting averaging right at 40 yards per net punt. I think this answers your question
