Lets not be ignorant. I am trying to make a smart statement about this game. Have u seen tyner play?? I didn't think so. I have seen tyner, polk, and south pitt, all this year. Tyner's defense is just as fast as their defense. And to be honest their defense is the best part of their team! Their offense has struggled at times lately. But their defense has been solid all year. You seem to think i'm calling polk slow and unathletic. I'm only saying i have seen both teams play, tyner has more team speed. If polk wins it is because of turnovers, and they will play the more disciplined game.

This is very true, and it has done some strange things to East Ridge this year. lol. Good to hear someone that thinks logically about football as well. Greeneville is a very impressive team though. Looking forward to the trip. GO PIONEERS!

Howard has lost two games this year. #1 Alcoa and Tyner who won the district and is playing polk couty this week. Howard is fast physical and surprisingly disciplined. One of the most disciplined howard teams i have ever seen. Coach Tarver has done a good job. I saw Loudon play Polk county last year in the second round and Loudon had some huge lineman, not sure if they are back or not but they were impressively athletic for big guys. Depending on Loudon's O-Line play, Loudon's Quarterback is gonna need an ice bath after the game. You guys better block. Should be a good game but i thing Howard wins this one!!

This is very true. but i have seen both of those teams. both are good. but i'm just warining you that south pitt has no where near the size that tyner does. i said it before it will be a close game.

Polk County = smashmouth, old school, pound you into submission football Tyner = physical (not as physical as polk), big, very fast, can pound it out but would rather make you tired from chasing their speed first Should be a great game but i'm not sure polk can hang with the team speed of tyner, i'm not saying polk isn't fast by any means. If polk wins it will be because of turnovers. Close game! Tyner wins but not by much

Being a former East Ridge graduate I still follow them pretty close. They had high expectations coming into the season, but several key seniors never played a down this year. They were great players and leaders. It seems that throughout the season the Pioneers have just lacked some leadership on the field during some key situations. Everyone has just been waiting for them to bring it all together and play a complete game. Who knows if they will come together and play the way they have been expected to all year this week. But i know one thing for sure they didn't help themselves by not finishing strong because they are traveling to the #1 team in the state. Should be interesting to see which East Ridge team shows up! either way, its playoff time and the regular season is over... everyone is 0-0, and everyone has to win 1 more game to survive...lets play some football!!!

Chattanooga Central...Very good, tough, nasty, and fast defense...they play very sound defensively and aare capable of a big play at any moment while on offense...ATHLETES!! should be a good game i think, but i'm gonna say defense wins close games...Central wins a low scoring game 15-13! sounds like a reasonable guess if you know central.

ok reb bank fan. true red bankput 31 up on east ridge in the first half. buthow did they do it??? it was not because red bank drove the field all night long. it is called turnover by east ridge gave red bank great field position and poor punt coverage led to even better field position. these problems have since been corrected for east ridge. the average starting position for red bank in this game was east ridge's 34 yard line and in turn east ridge's average starting position was their own 15 yard line. you will not win games with giving a good quality team like red bank that good of field position. if you flip flop the field position in east ridge's favor the game may have turned out different.

all this talking is fun to pass time but its playoff time and this is why we strap it up and play hard nosed football

this is the first meeting...looking forward to the trip up and hope to come back with a win...only thing ihave to compare with is fulton lost to austin east, and chatt brainerd beat austin east, and we beat brainerd, so im not sure what to expect

brainerd is a very good footbal team...u boys better have tons of team speed if u wanna take this 6 seed out...i'm sure claiborne is good but not sure how the matchup will be...i'm pulling for chattanooga in this one....ubetter have smart defensive coordinator....good luck to both teams

Here is some info on chattanooge central coming from east ridge. I don't know anything about greeneville..I'm sure they are a very tough football team. But watch out for chatt central. Very tough physical team. They played my boys at east ridge very tough and were won that game 10-0...it was an old school defensive game...all I can say is be ready to be hit hard from the chattanooga teams in this quad!!! Go chattown!

I do believe they should go back to only taking top few teams in district...top two teams in a given should host the opposing district's last two teams...that is how it has always been and it seemed to work fine...at least u have an idea of who u will be playing...I dunno my players are just using the game on road as extra motivation...

i think red bank should handle a 4 seed team pretty well. with a good coaching staff i do not think you guys will overlook them but beware east ridge has been playing with chip on their shoulder lately and looking to hopefully get rematch with red bank if they can take care of business in knoxville this friday. if they do the atmosphere in round 2 at red bank should be electric! not sure if it will rival the atmosphere at east ridge for the region championship in 2001 when gerald riggs and charles white were seniors! awsome atmosphere to play in...hopefully it will be rivaled in round 2 this year!!! lets play football baby!!

Hey guys i have a few questions about how the seeding and teams that host games are determined. i am baffeled on how red bank is the only team that is undefeated in 4a (as far as i know) and they are the only team in the region that is hosting a first round game. i mean tyner finished secound in the region with their only region loss to the lions, and they are surrounded by 4a teams in this region being only 1 of two teams in 3a in this region. their losses came to red bank #1 in 4a, ooltewah #1 in 6a at the time, and baylor and mccallie who are both powers in the private school playoffs every year. this sounds like some bad politics in this selection. then there is east rigde who is the second seeded team in the region in the 4a classification. their only region lossses were to red bank and tyner, 1 an d2 in region, and out of region loss to bradley central another 6a team in the area. so how does east ridge not deserve to host a first round game? my main problem with this is because in the past the host teams were determined by how you finished in your region. 1 played host to 4 in opposing region and 2 played host to 3 in opposing region, then in turn 3 would travel to 2 in the opposing region and 4 would go to 1 in opposing region. i just wanna know how they figured that only the #1 seed in this region was deserving of a home playoff game. how exactly are they determining the seeds now. is it based solely on the state rankings??? a little help guys, thanks

I think tyner got screwed with drawing alcoa first round..... i am not a tyner fan at all ..... but they finshed 2nd in a district full of 4a teams ...and there only district loss was to a number 1 rank red bank team.....this is horrible..... they are the only 6th seed not playing a 3 seed ....tssaa z plan sucks
