I feel like a member of The Rebel Alliance at the end of Return of the Jedi, the enhanced version, where they flash to all the cities and there are fireworks and such going off all over the place. We've fought this battle for so long, to finally win it is outstanding...a great day for Tennessee high school wrestling...

I knew this would happen when the event came all the way east. It is a right shame too.

I have two observations to make: First, if you can't find a 103, you aren't likely to find a 106 or a 107, so go figure. Second, as a person who hasn't really worked with a single football coach who sees enough benefit in wrestling to encourage his heavier players to participate, I am against anything that adds a heavier weight class at the expense of a lighter one. And I am at one of the larger schools in the state. Going back to 12 weight classes might be the answer.

I just hope no one overlooked the fact that there is a Price trained athlete on the staff at the new school...

Wouldn't official of the year be a little oxymoronic? I'm just funning about...no, they only have me submit the three categories...

The NWCA Award winners are: Wrestler of the Year-Cameron Croy, Brentwood Assistant Coach of the Year-Andrew Tomlinson, Franklin Coach of the Year-Jim Morgan, Baylor Congratulations to these folks.

I had the opportunity to talk to Jaleel Willis from White Station. I'm not sure that I've met a more polite and pleasant kid. It was one of the many nice things that happened this weekend. I'm proud of my kids too; they bought in to what we preached and it paid off. I worried going in that five girls wouldn't be enough to repeat, but they all did their jobs, especially Stephanie Tovar. I second the Aguilar comment. To see that kid come back and succeed was very good. I am also impressed with Alex Cate, the new coach at Seymour. He is listening and learning, and is going to be successful. He also built up some good Karma. And Cameron Croy-over 100 consecutive wins AND Harvard? How cool is that? A good weekend.
