  1. you must run that offense at your school, well move to this region with central and maryville and watch how lame that offense looks. i admit it looks good when florida or florida state runs it. first it is hard to get the center to snap a good ball for four quarters, second put two of your fastest players at defensive end and watch how much your quarter back is running for his life. like i said i went seen three teams try to run that offense last year and the q.b spent the whole game running for his life, 5 guys can't block 7. one more thing, if you only have a week to practice, why would you try to run a very complex offense. you can teach 6 and 7 year olds to run the i in a week.
  2. the coaching is what killed tennessee. i am just a middle school / super midget coach, but no coach on the high school level could beat me with that offense. the spread formation out of the shotgun does not work with high school athletes. this past year central played three teams that TRIED to run it and the game was a joke. the coaches should have just lined up in the i formation and fed the ball to casseen. i wondered if he would be able to play d-1, now there is no doubt. now i wonder if he will be a first round draft pick. he was the best running back in that game and his coach wanted to throw on all three downs. just because you coach a high school team does not mean you are a better coach than your average little league coach
  3. i think karns had a .500 record at least in 97, i know they beat ae, farragut and fulton. they had dustin york , ryan freels, and the whole squad was good. i put them together as a super midget team in 1993. karns could not handle me though, all i wanted to do was win ....they liked losing. karns has one of the best sophomores in east tennessee, t. j walden.
  4. i will be there to watch casseen win the mvp, if he gets the touches he will go for 100 yds. remember all you j.p haters, i found this kid riding a skate board weighing 110 pounds soaking wet. have you seen the movie the recruiter? " i am a scary judge of tallent"--pacino
  5. maryville should hold clinics on how to run a feeder program, they are the best in the state obviously. if they do hold a clinic please send an invite to the fountain city baby bobcats, they need a clinic. swing low.
  6. who cares? it looks like maryville has won the recruiting war again this year, burnette can play.
  7. Knox central no doubt. "do you wanna ride or die" --machavelli
  8. no roadrunner the last falcons to come through my team were jeffery and buddy, but they were so great players. i think jeffrey was the best running back i ever had and i had caleb gaston, casseen jackson, travis and demarcus dixson, and my last great one da da gaston. i sure wish i coulda got demarcus stevens though, he is the real deal. p.s even though i took a couple years off i am still the best there is, so don't think i have lost a step.
  9. i will be coaching the middle school /super midget team for central this year (thinking about it anyway) i will come give you anderson county boys a clinic anytime. i remember when clinton and anderson county came to our league a few years ago , they did not last long. last time we played clinton it was 41-0 and was not that close. so if you wanna clinic, i will give you one free of charge.
  10. i have seen the burnette kid play, he is definetly a very good prospect. he has great mechanics and this was seventh and eigth grade. i think he should go where ever his family wants him too. eli manning did. we fountain city folks sure would love to have him playing for us, not against us.
  11. now i have seen the roster there is no maryville kids. why? either way that team is stacked i cannot imagine kentucky haveing a better team. demarcus stevens from fulton will dominate.
  12. da da gaston ...mark my words, central will be even better at tailback even after losing a d-1 tailback to vandy. he was benching 310 before track started. so he is gonna be even faster. people will think that they can arm tackle him because he is small, you will have to wrap this kid up and you still might not get him down.
  13. on a different note..does the super midget coach need a good assistant? i don't want to be the head coach , just the clip board guy.
  14. no i am just saying i know for a fact, huber loved it at central and if he really had a choice he would be at central...i would bet the farm on that... and the same goes for lee.
  15. ha ha .. read what you just typed especially " according to"....baron told me when he played for me "when they were seniors they would compete for the state", he reminded me of that at this years banquet...next thing i know he is at powell..i bet he would rather be a bobcat, i know come november he is sure gonna wanna be one.
  16. just because they dress up in powell garb ..does not mean that their hearts are not at central. my kid told me huber left because he was gonna get to play the position he wanted to go to georgia. i think he has been listening to what he wants to hear.
  17. i planned all week to be at the scrimmage , but got busy with work. how did powell look ? especially the new free agent pick ups? my daughter knows gossip at central and says smith might be back at central come fall.
  18. i do not think that is the biggcatt you all think it is. his screen name was just biggcatt, not #2. i talked to him acouple of weeks ago and he said no he was not gonna coach, he might help out in some capacity but he won't coach. he can change his mind though its gets hard when practice starts and for the first time in years your not coaching....it itches. i just don't know why half the coaches on the staff quit. its obviously something that really got them because kids left and a couple more almost did.
  19. as much as i hate to admit it your right on about fulton being the school that kids are gonna be transferring to now that they have the gold ball. i know the coaches at central will not admit it, but if i was still doing my thing running their eighth grade feeder program central would still be the place to be. i gave up coaching because of being burnt out. my second group of seniors got them to the state championship, my third group should have won it but they were to busy reading their clippings. after i quit coaching the feeder program, i feel like i am not wanted around so i do not go around. when i first started there an assistant coach told me as long as i was of use to him i was alright, after that he could careless. that coach hit the nail on the head. with kids and coaches leaving like they have, i wonder what happened in the two short years since i quit. i understand smith leaving, but huber??? i am a free agent now.lol
  20. do you mean bird? yea he was on the powell team in 1996, since i knew his family i told my players to not hit him, we had to stop that game twice to wait on an ambulance. he was a smart kid, transferred to the best.
  21. not just knox county, in 1996 i had a stud from jefferson county and one from oak ridge you would be amazed at how far a kid will go to play for the best.
  22. you got me rob....what does 16 out of 22 mean?...let me guess, you are acting like joe, i mean red rage.
  23. i tried to join last week and it kept telling me i was doing something wrong and would not take my credit card. i graduated from fulton so that could be the main problem. i guess that was an omen to save my 12 bucks.
  24. pick me, pick me, ooooooh please pick me!
  25. since your taking the players,....does powell need a super midget coach/recruiter?
