  1. I heard that you cannot single out individual players anymore. Is this true?
  2. On whether these guys will make an impact on UT, I would say yes and no. Nobody plays defense for UT. So until they figure out how to stop someone it doesn't matter who they get.
  3. It appears that Jamont is all but a lock, but remember this it is UT Mens basketball. However, think about this, who goes to Oak Hill just to sign with UT. No one so far and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go elsewhere, but I hope he comes and wears the orange for 4 years.
  4. Aaron Duke from Ezell Harding can play. Averaged around 15 points per game his first 2 years.
  5. He may be a good ball player, but let him play against Brandon Wright. Then we will talk. I'll take Wright over almost everyone in the nation.
  6. basketballstar30, or should I just call you Zach Frey. 41, in how many games are you counting? If you had 41 you must have cherry picked the whole game or played a bunch of 6th graders. I hope you bring your A game in district, cuz I'll be waitin, specifically around Jan.7. So qoute Shakespeare all you want buddy.
  7. Pretty sure Coach Piercey is a better coach than what they had and Julian had no discipline and didn't work as hard as Joe Lackey has. So good luck "destroying" Joe this year.
  8. I don't see why Temple should top this list. I think Ezell is better than Temple. They can do everything that Temple can and they have one thing Temple does not have... a 6'8" center who can take over a game. So Temple fans don't count on a state championship just yet.
  9. Ezell dominated this game. They were up 30 at one point an won by 15.
  10. If the big man being referred on here is Frey for Goodpasture, Cheatham Co. has nothing to worry about. Frey is not very good at all. He is soft slow and weak. He had good stats last year because the smaller player guarded him and Daniel got most of the attention. Don't worry about Frey, he is terrible.
  11. I saw Joe Lackey destroy that kid @ sub state in aau he must have dropped 30 on him then he got ejected
  12. Lackey will have a good shot if he leads his team the way he should.
  13. Will everyone open their eyes and actually read a post for what it is. Nobody on this board has "bashed" Dotson. Everyone has said that he is a good player and that he has an excellent work ethic. Everyone has wished him the best. The only thing that is being argued is whether or not he is good enough to play in the SEC. That is not bashing at all. Most high school players are not good enough to play D-1.Is that bashing if you tell a kid who has sat on the bench his whole high school career that he is not good enough to play D-1? No, in fact he prolly already knows. Playing major D-1 ball is not something that is just handed to everyone. He has worked hard, but hard work doesnt always mean that he is good enough for major ball. He is goin to see and play against guys that are faster stronger bigger and quicker than he has ever seen. Once again good luck Matthew, and if yall read this, read the whole thing, not just what yall wanna see out of a post, just so you can get on here and try to sound smarter than you prolly are.
  14. Okay. I have been reading this post for a couple of days and it seems there are so many hurt feelings. First of all I would like to say congrats to Matthew. I wish you all the best at UT, because I am a life long Vol fan and everyone knows UT needs all the help they can get. However, I don't think the help is in the form of Dotson. He is a good player, compared to high school players, but not compared to the SEC. I have not heard of Gerogetown and Stanford offering him a schlorship, and I believe that is false. If Stanford, which is a top 25 team every year, offers someone a schlorship, he would have a lot more D-1 offers than just from UT. He would also be more highly touted if Stanford offered him a schlorship. Top 25 teams dont offer the 13th best player in TN a schlorship, they just don't. Also if he was D-1 material everyone in TN would know about him. Most people don't know about him. For example Brandon Wright (or Peoples depending on how well you know him) and Tyler Smith are household names for TN HS b-ball fans.Dotson is not. And for the comment of what if he reads this. If he can't take criticism, he shouldn't be playing sports, period. Especially SEC ball. Matthew I hope you turn out to be a stud in college, but I just don't see it.
  15. If a player is told not to shoot or dribble there is usually a reason. Lets face it Dever is not that good. He was not that good at Goodpasture. The past couple of years they have had 1 good guard, Beaty 2 years ago and Trent Craig last year. This year I don't see any. Dever wouldn't make that much of a difference on this team anyway.
  16. mtownballer, Ezell is led by 6'8 center Joe Lackey. Should average a double double this year. Should average 20 pts. 10 boards and a couple blocks a game. Their second leading scorer is shooting guard Aaron Duke. Can drive and shoot the three. He has averaged areound 15 a game the last 2 years and will prolly stay in that same range this year. Could average 20 but Lackey will be the scoring leader. After that they have PG Josh Pitto who is a great open shooter and excellent passer. Then Chris Blackburn who will add toughness and will match up with the opposing teams best guard. As for their fifth starter they can go big or small. If they go small they will start Freshman Shawn Kennedy, who can shoot lights out. I heard he was their leading scorer in their scrimmage the other day. If they go big, they have a few big bodies in Sophomore Hunter Watson and 6'5" Senior Cody Meek. They also have good backup guards in Brandin Hardin, Carl Gettis, and Kevin Chandler. I see this team in the state tourney.
  17. I also wish luck to you guys because only 2 teams make it out of region. I think those 2 teams will be from the same district, Ezell and CPA. Don't get me wrong, McEwen is a good team. Ezell and CPA are just better.
  18. You failed to mention CPA who went to state last year and returns all but 1 starter. Ezell also returns everyone except one player. I think both of those teams are easily in the top ten.
  19. I think it is right on except I think Ezell may be number one this year, but it is definetely a two team race with Ezell and CPA, hands down.
  20. Hey blik I don't see how that is bold at all. Almost everyone agrees in the fact that CPA will finish first. Is that bold? On the same token, the same has been said of Ezell, that them and CPA are 1 and 2. Can an injury change that...of course. But a BOLD prediction would be to say that Montessori will win the district. There is a difference.
  21. Overton Christmas tourney Mario Moore's Jr. year. He caught an oop one handed, cocked it back in the air and dunked. People ran out of the gym.
  22. Then I guess that would be the 2. Keep in mind that 3 of their top 4 leading scorers were not there for those games. So with their actual starting 5 they went undefeated in both camps. How can GP stop Ezell? They can't. GP will be third, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. So GP fans don't get your hopes up. Especially after yall crumbled last year in region with the team yall had last year.
  23. Actually I will not rethink that at all. They lost a total of 2 games during their 2 summer camps this past summer. The 2 they lost they were missing 3 of their starters, so they probably would have gone undefeated in both. Also CPA will beat GP too. Gp will be a distant third. I say it now and will say it at the end of the year when yall see that I am right. They have nothing.
  24. Goodpasture will be in a distant third in their district. Ezell and CPA are the top two teams in that district by far. Frey is overrated and not very good at all, however he will score just because he is taller than most of the district. Otherwise they have no offense. They will not be good, but they aren't really expected to be, except by their own fans.
