  1. Funny to me that Banks is listed as the 4th team QB on the Georgia roster, right under Jim Bob. If he is "truly" the third team quarterback, it makes perfect sense to me that he would be listed as 3rd and Jim Bob would be 4th. Maybe you need to do a little more research yet. Jim Bob will see some snaps somewhere down the line, but he is doing exactly what he wants to do. He plans on going into coaching when he graduates and becoming an offensive coordinator. He is getting experience in a good system, so he should be well prepared when he does graduate. Good luck Jim Bob!!!
  2. Actually, if you watched the Tennessee Florida game, Jim Bob was on the sideline signaling the plays in to Clausen. First time I have ever seen a scout team quarterback do that........
  3. Hey falconfan94, contrary to other opinion, you are exactly right, Jim Bob IS the third string quarterback for Tennessee. I just took a look at the depth chart for this week's game against Georgia, and low and behold, there, right on the page, it says Jim Bob Cooter, right behind Casey Clausen and C.J. Leak . Wouldn't this board be a lot nicer if rookies wouldn't get on here a spout off before they know what they are talking about? I think it is obvious who needs to use more intelligence when posting.........
  4. Everyone beware, I think we have a genius in our presence.
  5. There are plenty of people who know their way to Fayetteville, and they can all spell it as well. And, contrary to belief, it IS easy to get to. From Nashville, go south on I-65, get off on the Hwy 64 exit and go east, it takes you right to the square. If you are coming from Chattanooga, take I-24 west and get off after you have gone up and over Monteagle on the Hwy 64 bypass and go west and merge onto Hwy64, this also takes you right to the square. I'd say anbody with average intelligence could find it.......
  6. Yes, Coach Louis Thompson does still show the film from the previous Friday night's game at 7:00 in the high school cafeteria. There is no admission, and anyone is invited to come. It is a great way for anyone the see for themselves if a call was actually a bad call or if indeed the ref was on top of things, or to get the opportunity to see a big play all over again. It is a really neat thing to experience.
  7. I agree with you on that one jabbo........Big Dog Daddy did say some rather spirited things about the Franklin vs. Lincoln County game in week zero, but after all was said and done, he was quick to give credit where credit was due and was gracious in defeat. Not only that, he has kind of been a "behind the scenes" support of the Falcons ever since. I don't mind at all someone spicing up a big game, as long as they can take it when they lose. I haven't forgotten FHSRebel27 either, he was a good sport about it too. Thanks guys. Best of luck to the Rebels and Coach J this Friday.... BASH THE BRUINS...... REBELS RULE!!!!!!!!
  8. I know this question has been asked previously, but does anyone know ANYTHING about Howard? We need info for the pre-game radio for Lincoln County this Friday night and right now all we have is that their record is 0-6 and that Reggie White went to school and played his high school football there. Other than that, I don't have a clue. Who are there main players to watch? Is everyone healthy? Do they pass, run, etc.? Who are their statistical leaders? They didn't send a survey in to Murphy Fair, so there is no information there either. Thanks in advance for anything you can provide.. :justwrestle:
  9. Well, like people on here have said, They werent going to start shouting, U are awesome. I dont, however, think half of the students had any idea how good Lincoln County is. Im sure they know now. By the way, Your Quarterback reminded me of Senika Wallace from Iowa State last year. Amazing speed. Ive always heard he can throw, but its obvious he can run when needed. Michael can throw the ball really well. Firday night's game against Cookeville was, by far, his worst passing night of the season. He lit it up against Franklin COunty, and has passed the ball really well in the other games. For the season, he is 28 of 61 for 595 yards with 10 TD's and only 1 interception, to go along with his 72 rushes for 578 yards and 4 TD's. The second team offensive line has gotten a lot of playing time the last couple of games and probably will the rest of the season when they can, so that gives Michael a little less time to get his passes off. If he can stay healthy, I think he will end up with a really good year.
  10. I talked to Coach Thompson about the botched chains moving incident, and he told me that when the chains moved, he thought it was first down. His argument was the play call would have been different had he actually known it was third and 8. Coach Joslin, on the other hand, argued that his team should not have been punished after stopping Lincoln County on third down. Both coaches had very valid complaints, unfortunately, it was a situation where one team was going to get the bad end of the deal regardless of what was done. The head official is supposed to make sure the chains and down marker is right before every play. Obviously, this one wasn't paying attention.
  11. Well, actually, it was before the game even started, so they weren't defeated, YET. But hey, that's ok. I've heard worse. I also didn't say you don't have "nice" facilites, they are just a little "small" for a 5-A school. The stadium itself is very nice. Good view of the field, well lit, teams do not have to walk a mile from the field to the dressing rooms. Although, I think it taking advantage of the situation having a seperate, fenced in, parking lot on the visitor's side and them charging them $2.00 to park. I mean, who is going to drive 2 1/2 hours up there and then go back home because they are not going to pay to park? No one. Good luck to Coach Joslin and the Cavaliers the rest of the season, hopefully we will see you again in the playoffs.
  12. I didn't see the CC vs. FC game, so I can't say there really were or were not cheaps shots taken, but when we played them, there were a couple in the game, as well a several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties as well. It was kind of suprising, over the years, Franklin County teams have always been well disiplined.
  13. #1. What tailback were you watching, it took three or four guys to get Gregory down most of the night, once they could finally catch. He rushed for 162 yards and didn't play most of the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury. I'd say he broke a lot of arm tackles to muster those yard! #2. The guy that scored the last TD for the Falcons is the same guy that gets beat up on at practice during the week. Now you tell me, doesn't that kid DESERVE to get a chance to score after having to face that defense all week during practice?? #3. Your fans, which were seated in the student section, that were screaming (and I am quoting their words) "Overrated", and "Lincoln County stinks!!!" is a little absurd. Not to mention, and this came from A Cookeville administrator, "you have 1-A accomodations for a 5-A school" That's OK, all in al it was not a bad game, no serious injuries for either team. Good sportsmanship on both sides for the most part was displayed, and as far as I know, everyone made it back home safely, so it was a good evening.
  14. Howard is a game that could dedisastrous for the Falcons if not approached properly. Of course, if they upset Lincoln County, it would severly damage the Falcon's season, but the one thing that scares me most is that, especially in high school, it always seems like the best players sustain serious injuries in these types of games. I just hope everyone makes it through healthy. Hopefully, this will be a homecoming game that sees everyone on the field getting in on the action.
  15. The second team line does need some work. If you will remember back, Lincoln County struggles on a drive, punts to Cookeville and the Cavaliers put together their only drive of any type for the game. On the next offensive series, the Falcon's 1st team O line goes back into the game and the Falcons march right down the field and answer right back. Believe me, it hurt our running game against Oakland last week. This is only going to help next year, seeing how we lose most of our starting linemen.
  16. Congratulations Patriots, I knew you would rebound. It should be another classic next week when you take on the Warriors. Good luck!!!
  17. Well, considering LC had 12 penalties for 110 yards and Cookeville had 117 yards in total offense, what does that tell you?
  18. I figured someone would be on here complaining that Lincoln County ran the score up. Let me set the record straight, it was Cookeville's first defense against LC's second offensive line and third team tailback when the last TD was scored. I have heard Bobby Bowden say many times, "If your first team D can't stop my second and third team O, then that is your problem, not mine". If the Falcons had passed the ball down the field, that would be one thing, but the plays were all off tackle handoffs to the second and third team tailbacks. Look back and see how many times you have seen James Staton's name mentioned in previous posts about Lincoln County, he is the one who scored the last TD. Congrats to you James, you have worked hard and should be rewarded for your effort. I thought the game was rather close, considering the refs couldn't correctly mark off a penalty or let a play be run before they realized the chains had been moved 10 yards down the field and it was the wrong down and then half to call both coaches to midfield for a 10 minute conference to determine that they were going to go two plays back and start over. What a joke!!!! I can't confirm it, but I didn't hear any gunshots fired, so I assume everyone's dogs survived the game as well.
  19. Man, you have my upmost respect, and so do the Green Wave. There is nothing I would like better than a rematch of the 1982 State Championship game. Good luck to Gallatin the rest of this season and the playoffs. Link is one heck of an athlete. It doesn't suprise me that the Tennessean is off, they are more worried about how many times a day the Titan's go to the bathroom than high school athletics. That's ok, we both know who gets the job done week in and week out!
  20. Russel is the best one on the team when it comes to delivering a cheap shot to the opposing team!!!! Other than than that, Bishop and Pryor are the Rebels best players.
  21. I guess he sold popcorn at the half too, right? He is a great athlete. Remember, we saw him in the spring. I wish him the best the rest of the season. OH, by the way, if he "truly" does have a 42.7 yard per punt average, maybe you need to submit that to the Tennessean, because I don't see him listed in this week's leaders in punting. No, wait, I do see him, and it says he only has 7 TD's and I do not see him listed amongst the punting leaders. Either you or the Tennessean are misinformed.
  22. Link doesn't own a 40.2 yard per punt average for the year punting or didn't go 7 for 7 kicking extra points, not to mention rushing for 2 TD's and passing for 2 more last week, did he?
  23. I watched Cookeville when they played Coffee County during our off week. From what I saw, they are not a come from behind offense. However, they can torture an opposing team by getting a lead and then holding the ball on one of those time consuming drives that eats up the clock and keep the other offense on the sideline. I hope the Falcons do not find themselves in that position. I would much rather see the Cavs have to try to come from behind, waaaaaay behind. :justwrestle:
  24. This could be a BIG week when it comes to determining who will be the 2003 region champ of region 3-5A. Here is the list of games for this week. What do you think? Who will win? Lincoln County at Cookevile Coffee County at Franklin County Warren County at Cumberland County My picks are: Lincoln County over Cookeville Franklin County over Coffee County Cumberland County over Warren County What do you think???
  25. After having finally stopped laughing at your remark that Lincoln County hasn't played a tough schedule, I have to ask you one question, (You Franklin, Blackman, Riverdale, Franklin County, and Oakland fans feel free to sound off on this one). If Coffee County had played the same 5 teams thus far this season that Lincoln County has played, what would the Red Raiders record be???
