  1. Congrats to the Lady Pioneers on finishing the perfect season.
  2. I think Kevin Tuck coached Westview in 1996, not Kevin McMillan
  3. I was at the Crockett County - Covington matchup. There were some missed calls both ways..nothing that was really game breaking. The loss of Perry to the Cavs was a huge blow. It is hard to lose a player that has scored 20+ TD's, pass blocks, and is an important part of the defensive unit at linebacker, especially losing this player in week 10. His absence was noticable and the Covington coaches did a great job in preparing for the game knowing that he would unavailable. Crockett had a great season that did not end the way we wanted it to, but in the playoffs anything can happen. Congrats to the Chargers on a hard fought win. It is a shame that a thread like this was ever started...it belittles the season the players and coaches from Crockett County enjoyed. It also attempts to discredit the excellent job the coaches of Covington did in preparing for such a big game.
  4. I think he is saying they don't have a kicking game.
  5. This was the first game I have attended this season. Humboldt was up nine at the half. At the end of the third quarter Gibson County had cut the lead to two. Humboldt built the lead back up to around ten with about three and a half minutes to go. Humboldt shot very well from the free throw line to seal the game. As an unbiased spectator I was impressed with Humboldt's main two players in Hayes and Graves. They are both very athletic although they sometimes play out of control. I was suprised that Humboldt shot from the perimeter as well as they did. Hayes, Graves, and Goff made several three point baskets. Gibson County's Dudley is a tremendous talent. She accounted for a majority of the points either by scoring or providing an assist. Gibson County is a very disciplined team but they lack team speed. They also need someone to step up and become a second scoring threat. I know I have only been to one game, but it seemed that Dudley was the only player for Gibson County that can create her own shot. Gibson County missed several opportunities for layups by failing to throw a bounce pass and trying to throw through the opposing team's arms. All in all it was a good game. Both teams have a lot of things to build on and each should have a very good season.
  6. I missed the first game with Southside. From what I have heard they have a very fast defense. Hopefully the Cavaliers will be ready to play this Friday night. You are right about the long trip. Those two hour+ roadtrips are overrated. Page had the short field most of the night, but shot themselves several times with holding penalties. That offensive line was big. Crockett's defensive front held up better than I expected. Good luck to the Patriots next season.
  7. I went to Crockett County's games against McNairy and Lexington. The McNairy score was 11-6 with Crockett County leading after one 11-0. Crockett County was able to put pressure on Browder and I think Coach Pratt felt confortable that the defense would be able to hold on to the lead. He went very conservative during the second half and basically ran Perry up the middle on almost every play. McNairy scored with about a minute and a half to go in the game. McNairy came out in the second half and gave the ball to Kizer on their first possession and was able to move the ball. McNairy needs to keep the ball in Kizer's hands more in my opinion. He is a very good back. Lexington has a big offensive and defensive line. Crockett was not able to get any pressure on Evans all night. During the first half the only time Lexington did not score was on an interception. There was much of the same during the second half in that Lexington did not have to punt until late in the fourth quarter. Lexington won the game 31-17 in the trenches. Lexington has a very good quarterback, big lines, and more team speed than I was expecting. Based on these two games I would expect Lexington to win by 14 or more.

    Bobcats win

Bulldog69, You seem to have a lot of animosity built up towards Crockett County. To take a stab at a program and their coach really displays your lack of sportsmanship. Congratulations on that feat, you should really be proud. Your comment about the coach is really pretty comical. There are a lot of programs in the State that would love to have P.A. Pratt as their head coach or on their staff. He and the rest of the coaching staff have really turned Crockett County's football program around. Crockett County is young this year. They are improving each week. The McNairy game will be a very good test to see how well they are progressing. Hopefully they will be able to pull out a win, but if not I'm sure the coaching staff will ensure that they learn from the game. That is what a good coaching staff does.
  9. I think Crockett County will win a close one at home. Last year, Crockett County was starting a freshman quarterback who had taken very few snaps due to the late preseason injury to Tyler Mosier. Also, Westview's score came with less than 10 seconds to go in the game. I think it will be: Cavaliers 27 Chargers 20
  10. Oliver Springs 31 Cheatham Co. 31 At the half.
  11. Oliver Springs 21 Cheatham Co. 31
  12. Oliver Springs 13 Cheatham Co. 21 End of 1st period
  13. GC80, I think it will be on 96.5 and possibly 97.7, but I'm not 100% sure.
  14. 13AA - Crockett County and Gibson County
