It's just not worth the effort to even try and figure out what you are trying to say... Somebody said the Indians didn't give Foreman and Swafford the ball enough against the Hill Toppers...really? Foreman had the ball in his hands every play..and had 25 carries for 250 yards and 3 TD. Swafford, he did all he could. A little banged up you know. I thought #35 Zach Casey played a whale of a game...had to have over 100 yds rushing. We need more of that. I hope Foreman only has half as many rushing atempts against Bearden as he did vs SH. I think this DB team is Playoff ready. A Coach who has worked hard this year, harder than in a long time and a great bunch of Players that have faced adversity and kept on winning. Loosing Chris Cook was a major blow, he ran the offense with precision and the offense was very diverse. With Foreman at QB we have explosivness but maybe less of a playbook to work with. Coming back from 15 points down entering the 4th quarter and winning over one of the best teams in the state was impressive and speaks volumes for the maturity of the Indians. Bearden got any fans? There used to be a bunch on Coach T. Take care of the ball and DB will take care of business....have a bunch of turnovers and the season is over. Hoping for a good week of healing and practice and better weather by Friday Roll Tribe Roll

You are exactly right '91. It is not a choice for Clark to make...you put your best out there and play the game. Clark built as much depth as he could thru the year, playing a ton of Soph.'s. I sure hate loosing #21. We need to get healthy quick. If anybody questions the speed of #6 for DB, watch the game video and check out TD #2. He is shoot out of a cannon on that one. Roll Tribe Roll

Yep, of course I will pick the Indians to win this week. And didn't you pick them too loose to Sevier County and the Farragut game was going to be a 1 score game? How did those turn out? And don't start on me about being a "FAN". I tell you what... I don't miss a game, most DB Fans go to the games. I don't miss a road game, the best "FANS" go to the road games, those are always the best games..... When you go to all the games, you see all the "FANS" that go to the game. I have seen you twice at a DB game in 10 years. I don't care if I am the biggest fan or the smallest fan, the one thing you can count on is I AM A DB FAN, PERIOD! Are you?

And especially the Game Winning Call of the night that I just laid out for you. I wasn't sure if you saw that part of the game or not. And...the fact the last drive, the Indians started on their own 4 yard line...that could help my point to. I guess it was the "bonehead" thing, Waco.

Yep, that was about the most stupid thing I ever did. How about that bonehead call Clark made with 5:35 to go in the game. Game tied 34-34. DB was punting with a 4th and 4 on their own 30...the Toppers for sure would of had the ball no worse than their 40, with the ball on a game winning drive.... but Clark called a play that made the Toppers jump off sides and give the Indians a 1st down. Then he took that 1st down and that 5:30 left in the game and took it all the way down to the Topper 18 and they kicked the game winning field goal with 20 seconds left. I wonder if those Topper Fans, Players and Coaches thought that was a bonehead Coaching call.

Well, I was were I always am at a DB game...in my reserved seats on the 40, with a great bunch of DB fans setting around that section. I just wondered where someone would be in that stadium that couldn't see great Coaching that brought a team back, being down 15 points entering the 4th quarter, to win the game with 20 seconds left...that's all. And then call his coaching "bonehead"?

You Wildcat fans know that Oak Ridge is my 2nd favorite team and my #1 Team for the Indians to play against...but I gotta tell ya, The Science Hill Hill Toppers have a very good football team. That QB wearing Steve Spurrior #11 (first player since Spurrior to wear it by the way) is something else...what an athlete and he can throw it. The Toppers just kill you with his ability to keep a play alive. Ya'll remember that, because you will be talking about it after the game. I haven't seen the Wildcats play this year or for what 5 seasons now, but my guess is if the Toppers play like the did last Friday night...then they will be playing Maryville the next week. I hope it is a great game, that's what the Playoffs are for

I am curious WaCo....was you able to make it out to the game last Friday Night? If so, where in the crowd were you? What a crowd.

I give Graham Clark his due as a Head Coach who has no piers in North East TN Football. Clark will have set the bar very high indeed when he turns in his playbook....not just for DB but for the entire Region. Clark has 198 DB Wins against 42 Losses. No other Coach in DB History even has 100 wins. Clark was able to settle things down after loosing the momentum and the lead...down 15 going into the 4th qtr. with the Toppers, and win the game with 20 seconds left. Clark has had a great time and a great year coaching this team. I am waiting to hear any news about #8 and his status for the week and for the game. DB needs a healty #8 in the Playoffs. The Indians have score to settle in this one... and this time Dobyns-Bennett has the electric player with 4.3 speed. I am curious about this Bearden Team...2 losses...played Maryville tight 21-3 and lost 2 weeks ago to Knox West. Just think...this was a conference game for 10 years. Maybe the Greatest Game in this Series ever...best I have seen by far. It is hard to believe that a 1 loss SH Team (by 3 pts) will be on the road in Round 1 of the Playoffs....Quad 1 is a beast. Good luck Toppers Roll Tribe Roll

Graham Clark coached his tail off to win that one. Up 19-7 after the 1st qtr., scoring on TD's on all 3 possesion in the quarter. A complete turn arnound in the 2nd qtr, with 3 turnovers on all 3 possesions led to 3 TD's for the Toppers and they lead at half 27-19. The Toppers got an instant turnover on an INT to start the 3rd quarter that led to a 4th straight Topper TD to lead 34-19 going into the 4th quatrer. Here is where the Toppers lost momentum and gave the Indians life....up by 15 and on the Indians 34 yd line with 4th and 4. They hadn't been stopped since the 1st quarter...and Carter did no go for it...he punted (I could not believe he punted). A long grind it out TD by the Indians was followed by a squib kick on the kick--off that the Toppers cound not control and the Indians got possesions...with another TD and the 2 pt conversion to tie it up 34-34. The Toppers drove the field but #!! made his only really bad throw of the night and #6 Foreman picked it off and fell to the turf on the DB 4 yd line. The Toppers D had the Indians in 4th down and 4 and punting on that drive, form about the DB 30, but Graham Clark called up his old special that got the Toppers to jump offsides and gave the Indians a 1st down. DB drove the field and ran that clock down to 20 seconds... and kicked a 35 yard FG to take the lead... Now here is another thing Carter can be questioned on..... WHY DID HE NOT USE HIS 3 TIMEOUTS? If so, he could of had time on the clock to move down the field and try for a score. One of the greatest Games I have ever seen. AN INSTANT CLASSIC. I hope the sun came up in Johnson City this morning Toppers.... you guys are a contender now...what a great Topper Team. Roll Tribe Roll

Why do you say that? They had McMinn County as the 3 seed in Quad 1 the other day.

No, that should not be right. Science Hill will be the 6th seed, going to 3 seed McMinn County and DB the 2 seed will host Jefferson County the 7 seed.... unless the TSSAA changes the Quad...and I hope they do move one of the 5 District Champs out, but doubtful

No question, the largest crowd in the History of J. Fred Johnson Stadium and I am proud that it was between these 2 schools and these 2 teams. Tradition, Rivalry, it means something, ask those guys who gave it everything they had tonight. That was special. How about that National Anthem with both Bands on the Field. Man that was first class! That was class! Good luck Toppers, whip McMinn County and the Indians can do the same to Jeff. County and we will do it all over again in 2 weeks!!!! ROLL TRIBE ROLL

ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATEST GAMES IN THE STADIUM - EVER!! Congrats to the Indians and Graham Clark - he got knocked down, but got back up this time and came out swinging. Down 15 entering the 4th qtr, 34-19 and pulled it out. So many things happened in the 4th qtr. Great game winning, clutch Kick by Diminick....WTG #17 I feel bad for the Topper fans and their players - you deserved that one - but just couldn't hang on to it.
