  1. The reason you didn't see any offensive sets is because we only had 8 players. Most of them didn't know the plays. Once we get our key players back the offense will take care of itself. But we have changed our style of play, we push the ball now, instead of always sticking to the half-court game. I think that most of the players knows the plays. especially, the juniors and seniors, Bain, French, Chandler, Carney, Harris, and sophomore Boyd that played last night. Now some of the other freshmen and sophomores that haven't played as much may not know the plays as well as them. I think Coach Martin was just letting them play, without any particular offensive set most of the time. I thought our defense was great. I like the faster paced offense that we have been running more of, I think we have the players to do that. We have good depth on the bench so that we don't seem to miss a beat when Coach Martin switches them out. Scoring Summary taken from the Benton Co. Times website- Brian French --------20 Jarrod Bain ---------13 Matthew Chandler--13 Chris Carney-------11 Kyle Harris ---------10 Byron Boyd ---------4 Josh Boyd -----------3 Total ----------------74
  2. I agree "Camden". Yeah, I heard Reed was sick and I hope he gets well soon. Seems to be the "flu bug" going around early this year. We'll miss Ben, but we've got some good players that can step up.
  3. Final Score - Huntingdon 35 - Lewis Co. 6 .

    McKenzie Coach

Excuse me lionfan, I think Coach Ward is a man of his word. He told the boys he wasn't leaving, and they are satisfied with that, and I believe that. If he was working on a deal with Paris, then I don't think he would have flat out told them he wasn't leaving!

    McKenzie Coach

Some of the players asked Coach Ward about this a couple of weeks ago, and he told them that he wasn't leaving.
  6. Evidently, he's not the one on the deer stand with the train horn. lol
  7. Wimpy, good post about Jarrod Bain. He is a very good player and a very good person. I hope he has great success this year and in college.
  8. Mckenzie 7 - Lewis Co. 21. Huntingdon 42+ - Chester Co. 0. I heard that a player for Chester Co. got hurt and they called the game.
  9. May God Bless, comfort, and strenthen his family and all of his friends and Oliver Springs school.
  10. Mckenzie's 104.7 FM is carrying the game.
  11. Guess I need to celebrate too! But, I have already become a plus member, it's too windy to go fishing, I don't drink, Hooters sounds great but it's too far away, and it's too expensive to go to Florida. So, I guess I'll settle for one of my favorite dishes at Wendys and work to become a Challenger!
  12. Chuck Adams is a great guy and a great coach. I would definitely recommend him, but would understand if it isn't the right time or the right situation. He did a great job when he was at Camden.
  13. Is this high school baseball? I noticed that the number to call was at the parks and not a coach's or school number.
  14. Thanks BigD, hope y'all have a great game at Lewis Co. and bring home a win for 6AA.
  15. Thanks for the good comments for Camden. We will be losing 8 seniors this year. And congratulations to them for a great season! We have a lot of good key players returning, but some of the underclassmen will have to step up.
  16. But, I hope that it's not true!
  17. I heard this morning that Paris might be trying to recruit him.
  18. No, I don't think that it is fair to compare Camden vs Mckenzie at the first of the season vs now. The team has come a long way since then. They believe in themselves now and know that they can play with good teams and be successful. When a program was as far down as Camdens was, even when you have talent, it takes a while to start anew and get the players confidence back up to where they start playing well again. As far as McKenzie vs Lewis Co., I think that it will be a great game, and yes that they are pretty closely matched. Although, I think that Lewis Co. will have problems defending Mckenzies passing attack, something (passing) that I think Camden should have done more of.
  19. "Thank You" donhaney and reporter for those good comments. We came down and gave it our best game and came up a little short, in a game that could have gone either way. I guess it was one of the closest games that I have attended in years. Yes, a field goal made, or a different play call, a break from the officials, or one less turnover, and it could have been a win for Camden. I will say that it was good play calling on the part of the Lewis Co. coaching staff, and good execution from the players on that last drive and a great kick by the kicker. I thought our team played very well and with confidence the whole game. I thought the game went well without any conflicts. Of course, I didn't always agree with all of the officials calls or even all of our coaches play calls, and I'm sure they're questioning themselves on some of them. Anyway, congratulations to Lewis Co. on a hard fought game. P.S. donhaney, do you think that the train horn on the deer stand could be eliminated? I don't know that it bothered our team that much but it seemed a little too much of a home field noisemaker. They do have the police car with sirens and lights, but the train horn is a little too much. Thanks!
  20. I'll say that Dyer Co.'s stadium is the nicest around that I have seen. We went there this season, and I could hardly believe it. Another stadium that is very nice is Houston Co.'s.
  21. Thats the first I've heard about it. But, that is awesome! Good P.R. for TCA and West Tn football.
  22. "eaglemgr" does Livingston Academy have a website, for their sports anyway? I tried to find it a couple weeks ago, and couldn't.
  23. Like I said in my post, "donhaney", thats who.
  24. Thank You donhaney for the good post and the compliments. I feel the same way.
