  1. I am starting a new thread: "Who will win the White House vs. Austin East game tomorrow?" It may clear up a lot of the side bar that is going on!!!
  2. Antwan- Thanks for giving credit where credit is due. I think the Greenbrier fans give you a hard time, because you tell them what they dont want to hear...especially since your team just faced us. You confirm their greatest fears!!! This will probably be my last post, b/c my home computer crashed on Wednesday(Word to the wise: Dont let your 4 year old play memory games on your PC). Hope everyone has a safe trip to the 'Boro, Good luck to all and Bring Home the Gold, Falcons!!! It is truly a great time to be a high school football fan!!!
  3. I hope you are right...but I still think it will be a terrific and close game. We may dominate in that area, but to win the State, we must dominate in most phases of the game. Get you another ring, Falcons!!!!
  4. I totally disagree...this will be a Great Game. I think Greenbrier will be a tough and formidable foe...should make for a very exciting game! GO FALCONS!!!
  5. Like I said, EXCUSES. The Fact is...E Bishop plays for Fulton. True he is a wonderful player (and we love having him)...but put him back on AE and I bet AE's coaches still find a way to lose!!!
  6. dandy82- Antwan is a Smith Co fan. No Doubt- I really have to disagree. Fulton has never been a team that just relies on throwing the ball up on a prayer, esp. since Robbie has been the offensive coordinator. Our style has always been to concentrate on a finely tuned passing game. If your guys are expecting us to just throw it up, you will in for a rude awakening on Saturday...but then again, if they reviewed the tapes, they will know our style and what to expect. Go Falcons!!!!
  7. Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda...Blah, Blah, Blah...E. Bish was ours...Blah, Blah, Blah!!! You lost, get over it!!! I find it funny how these AE fans continue to infiltrate our Playoff thread for their own agendas and to continue making lame excuses. I know it pains them, b/c this was “AE’s Year,” but it is time to step-off and not tarnish our Championship game!!! We really want to focus on Greenbrier at this time, but I feel prompted to share what is my best memory from the AE/Fulton playoff game: At the half, I had to run to my car and missed our first drive of the second half…as I was walking back to the stadium, Fulton scores to make it 21-0…I then see a group of AE fans that were gather around the back side of the visitors stands, walking towards me (on their way out)…One of the fans screams out, “D@#$, we’ll have to hear it for another year.” Now that was PRICELESS!!!
  8. This Thread is being taken on a couple of digressive tangents. Speaking of Web Sites...does Greenbrier have a school/athletics site of any kind?
  9. Bulldog- Another thing and I will let sleeping bulldogs lie. Dont worry about us scoring points...but dont take my word for it...I will let them demonstrate on Saturday!!!
  10. Bulldog- You need to learn to read a little closer. My comments to you were concerning the "How does Fulton plan to score" and that I should watch my "forward thinking" about Fulton's chances of winning...and I would hope that you, nor anyone else, would be intimidated from things posted on a message board!!! You seem to talk alot of trash, considering your a fan of team that finds themselves at the House!! Shouldnt you be posting on the "How do the Bulldogs overcome the disappointment of 2004 and compete in 2005" thread?!?! I guess it is Fulton vs. Middle Tennessee (with the exception of SC fans)...but we dont care, we have overcame larger odds in the past!! Get'em Falcons!!!
  11. J Groves- You seem to have good sense. My response was not aimed at you, but rather at those that need to be hit with a little splash of reality, now and then. This forum is intended for people to express their opinion and to add a little spice leading up to game time. Dont get me wrong...we have fans that get a little over-zealous, just as your team does. Just doing my part to refute some of the nonsense that gets thrown around.
  12. Groves- I realize Bulldogs does not equal Bobcats. The first reply was for "Not a bullDOG in the fight," the rest was for this type of rhetoric, that I have been reading all day: "I just hope Fulton tries to run it up the middle just to see it get stuffed and dropped for a loss. You can also look for 59 and 67 in the backfield harassing the quarterback, and most of the time he is dropped to the ground or sacked." "man i like the way this kid thinks he is right aldridge and the rest of the DB's should have a fun night. and man i would love to see dustin cole body slam that QB" "I think it is Perry who does the "body-slammin'". Dustin just knocks their lights out!" "heck lets let everybody body slam him how about that" "Well Well Well. It has been a great year for us bobcats, but i dunno if we should even go to the game saturday? I mean come on obvioulsy this Fulton team is the REAL DEAL!!! I mean look what they got: Jevon Kearse at Defensive End, Michael Vick at QB, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss at the WR postions." "Greenbrier has kind of taken on that role as a 'Team of Destiny" Do you need more of the distorted dogma?
  13. Never seen Greenbrier, but I would put AE's Defensive line and LBs up with any in the state...and we held our own vs. those guys. Sounds like a bunch of propaganda and distorted dogma coming from the Bobcat's camp...all I hear is overblown, HYPE!!! Remember, you are facing the Champs!!! Let’s not forget, this was a rebuilding year for the Falcons, but instead we decided to reload and have rallied around some great athletes and are chasing the repeat!!! No doubt, Greenbrier has a solid program and a good team, but we refuse to get caught up in all the hoop-la and pageantry of the event…and you can be sure that we will be ready to Roll on Saturday. I think both teams match-up well, which will ultimately make for a very exciting game!! Go Falcons…The Season’s Payoff is Near!!!!
  14. So, smarty...What's wrong with thinking your team can win. Isnt that what being a fan is all about?!?!?!
  15. D. Stevens was recruited by UT, and actually signed with them. I think grades were an issue, so he opted to go to Carson Newman instead of prep school. Bar None the best defensive player I have seen at the High School level.
  16. I had to edit my last post...in error I noted "2004 State Championship." I guess I am guilty of Forward thinkin...or was that really a Freudian Slip?? Go Falcons!!!
  17. Yank- FHSPlaya is probably referring to DE/TE Demarcus Stevens #99, MVP from 2003 Championship Team, that graduated last year. If you dont know, you should ask others that saw him in the Championship game last year. He is a legit 4.6, if not 4.5... a Leonard Little prototype. He actually took a couple of kickoffs the distance during his career.
  18. formerplayer- Love the enthusiasm...but let's move on to Greenbrier and leave SC in the past. RockingChair, although he was a bit under our skin last week, has actually said alot of things to support the Falcons and has lauded us and shown much praise for our exceptional play and abilities. Congrats to R Herndon on Mr. Football...I am sure he is very deserving! I know that our boys will take it as a personal challenge opposing such a great runner. Go Big Maroon!!!!
  19. I was mainly referring to their defense. In that game, SC shut down the run, we took what the defense gave us an exploited their pass coverage on the way to 33 points. You have to consider the fact that our defense forced them into those turnovers. We forced them into relying on something they were not that proficient with and thus created opportunities for ourselves. Creating opportunities and forcing teams into bad situations is what Championship Teams do!!
  20. Lookie Here at the IRONY...An AE fan posting keys to beating Fulton. You would think that you would have let your coaches in on these "little SECRETS"!! The fact is...you can get on here and post 10, even 20, keys for Beating the Falcons...but following through with your keys is a more difficult scenario. Yeah we have weaknesses, most every team does. The real problem lies in the fact of exposing those weaknesses…that is the true Challenge. What separates our Program with others (esp. AE) is the fact that we have coaches that take the extra time and effort to develop our players, on and off the field, and instill an understanding of what it takes to rise above adversity, and how to perform like and ultimately be a CHAMPION!!! Like I have said before: This game will be won by the team that exhibits a combination of Good Players/Athletes, and these INTANGIBLES: Heart, Preparation, Game-planning/adjustments by the Coaches, Conditioning and Knowing how to win in pressure situations!!! No one player will beat the Falcons, and we definitely will not lose by underestimating our opponent! HLFAN68- You speak of discipline as a key to beating the Falcons. Well, last week we faced one of the most disciplined defenses/team in the state (SC) and came out victorious. If you think that is our weakness, then you are going to be in for a rude awakening…a team doesn’t make it to the Championship 3 years in a row and amass a 37-4 record the last three years without a high emphasis in the discipline department. Go Falcons…Play Like Champions!!!
  21. SCMAMA- Rattlesnake33 is most definitely NOT a Falcons fan. If you look at previous post, he/she has commented mostly on games in your region, with mostly trashy remarks being used to instigate and stir the pot.
  22. FYI...Most of the pro-Fulton comments that I have been reading on this thread are from fans of other teams that have faced Fulton throughout the year (many of the comments have came from Smith County fans). I think that speaks volumes about our program and is greatly APPRECIATED. We dont need a debate on a fan's message board to give us an edge...We do our talking on the field! Like I said before...Call us "favorites", call us "underdogs" or whatever you'd like, because our team doesnt worry about the labels, we just worry about Taking Care of Business!!! Good Luck to both teams...GO BIG MAROON!!!!!
  23. Thanks for the support! Playing teams outside of your region is always an interesting venture. One never knows for sure what to expect…but I can tell you for sure that we will be prepared for Battle and will play our hearts out until the end. Yes, we have athletes and many Weapons, but our coaches do a great job putting the Playmakers in a position to make the plays and they utlilize each of our assets to our advantage on the field. we have a knack for exploiting what the defense allows us...If you choose to shut down the run (like Smith), we can get you with the pass and challenge the DBs...If you put an emphasis on stopping the pass, we can use a change of pace on the ground. Another thing that is not talked about as much, but should be given the credit due, is the Defense and Special Team. Eventhough we have 7 or so Sophomores that start and contribute on defense, Coatney has them prepared each week and, although young, they have been up to each and every challenge that has been thrown their way. Also, you can’t say enough about the effort on Special Teams…those guys put it on the line and sacrifice life and limb on every kickoff and punt. Our kicking game has also made tremendous strides and has been on par throughout the playoffs and the kickers have developed into one of the best that we have seen in some time. This team is really meshing at the right time and if we play Our Game, we will be hard to beat…no matter the competition! Go Falcons!!!
  24. I totally agree with your sentiments, Pigeon!!! Every fan that we encountered were first class and the game atmosphere was definitely one of the most FAN FRIENDLY...especially for a road game. I was expecting something similar to Trousdale, but Smith had their own special set-up. One could really tell that Carthage makes football a huge event each week and they really enjoy the pageantry of the game. Good luck to Smith County next year in 2A!
  25. Dont know about your History books...but mine always had the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor.
