  1. It's kinda like Auburn, War Eagle/Tiger or both.

He's a senior this year and he will be the main weapon in the Greenwaves' offense.
  3. In my opinion, it's good for Harriman, but the rest of Roane County probably will not be very happy.

    Harriman

I think Rockwood is primed for a big season, but like Bballtn said, they have to have a quarterback. Gallaher and Thompson can score on any play, but teams will stack the line until the Tigers prove they can throw. If Beeson/Reed can throw then the Tigers can beat everybody on their schedule including Sweetwater, but if they can't keep defenses honest then 6-4 sounds about right. I'll disagree on Wartburg. 7-3 at the worst. John T. Armes is the QB and he was the Morgan County Player of the Year last season. Wartburg lost only three starters, but they had a ton of depth at the skill positions. If everything falls into place, they could win all their games. They don't play a killer nonregion schedule like Harriman or Rockwood. Harriman will struggle. They simply don't have the athletes that they've had in the past. I do think they'll win a couple of games and could play some teams closer than many believe if they can hang on to the ball. Last year turnovers killed them and led to a lot of easy scores for their opponents. If they don't turn it over much then Bailey's defense should keep it close, but they need some speed on offense.
  5. Coach Norris was in special ed., but I don't know what they have open.
  6. I would say either the day of the jamboree or the following Monday. I hope the day of the jamboree. So far I've taken Kingston and Midway's pictures. Kingston had 30 varsity and probably that many freshmen. Midway had 46 or 47. I'm not positive because they had some players on vacation. I'll take Rockwood Thursday and OS and Harriman on Aug. 8 and 9.
  7. I really doubt that consolidation is on the table, but it will get ugly when they redraw district lines if Harriman joins the county. I know OS91 will not like it, but I think Harriman will get some students from the Webster Pike area simply because it's closer to HHS than OSHS. I'm sure they'll gain some in Midtown and Emory Heights also. That is if it's voted in next week.
  8. I don't know Swamp. If I was from Harriman I would definitely vote to join the county and all the signs I see in town are to do just that.
  9. Soph. Woody Smith from Coal Hill Academy hit .673 this season with 6 HR, 33 RBI and 15 SB. They played 25 games. I saw this in the Morgan County News stat leaders from this season.
  10. I know they're not going to consolidate in Morgan County. Last year they approved $14,000,000.00 to add classrooms to the current schools. I just remember years ago they had two consolidation plans that were shot down. One was to combine all 4 schools into 1 high school and keep the existing schools as elementary. The second plan was to combine Coalfield/Oakdale into one school and Wartburg/Sunbright into another.
  11. I can see where Norwood students need to go to OS because that's where they're from, but Coalfield is a city in Morgan County and they will never combine with OS. Heck they're adding to the school right now. Maybe one day they'll combine with Oakdale and stay a Class A school or maybe all Morgan County schools will combine for a Class AAA school. 12. Once you got the Kingston monkey off your back, you'll seem unstoppable.
