  1. I am not sure about today but, I know Darren Hinshaw will be at the game tonight.
  2. Thanks, I am a Dyer County fan and was wondering how that would play out. I would imagine if we get to play HC then we will probably be getting ready for basketball season the following week. They are the only team in the West I wouldn't give the Choctaws a chance against but, you never know.
  3. Just a quick question. Is it a foregone conclusion that Henry County will be in Quad 4? Or could the TSSAA put them in Quad 3? I'll hang up and listen.
  4. Well if you want to go that route, Maryville's 2011 roster hasn't won 7 out of the last 9 state championships either. Tyler Maples and Aaron Douglas have very little to do with this years team. I'm just saying.
  5. I am sure that there will be quite a few more coaches coming in the near future. His stock has risen significantly over the summer. Just a hunch though, I think he is Memphis' to lose.
  6. There is not a lot of difference from 8-12. No argument here looks pretty good.
  7. That's about what I figured. Not bad for an "honorable mention" team. I was at the Dc-Bartlett game. DC won 33-9 but it could have been much worse. Slot of homecooking going on at Bartlett. DC had about 150 yds in penalties to Bartlett's approximately 40 yds. Plus the DC starters didn't play in the 3rd. Once again not bad for a HM team.
  8. So how did the Millington- Brighton game turn out?
  9. Luckily God gave us 52 Fridays in a year, 11 of which fall during Tennessee High School Football. I think we are at Week 6 (If you count Week0). Plus the modern marvels of technology also provide us with a thing called tape (more recently converted to DVDs. I have seen Millington and Brighton on tape and two of the other "honorable mentions" in person.
  10. I don't know about all of the teams but, I have seen Millington play and three of the honorable mention teams and they would lose by 2-3 tds to the 3 HM teams I saw.
  11. Ok modification 1 has to start with Arlington didn't play or lose to Riverdale, Brighton did.
  12. I'm not Yankee but, I would like to answer this one. Uhhhhhh... no. He is a very skilled player but, that territory is usually reserved for those who have fully developed mentally and physically. Mentally, no doubt he would be there but, he will greatly benefit from a college strength and conditioning program. I just don't see it.

  14. Currently ranked #39 in the class of 2013 and a 4*. Rivals has him as one of the fastest risers in the country in terms of rankings.
  15. Saying that veer is not hard to learn as a QB is totally false. Few offenses are predicated on a QB's timing and ability to make proper reads as the Veer. Footwork, timing with the backs and mesh points are all the responsibility of the QB, not to mention the passing game. In a pro style offense, from a mental stand point the QB gets to take plays off mentally on predetermined hand offs. Not the case in the veer. They also have to recognized the defense to determine not only the mess points but, whether inside or outside veer is the best option based on the alignment. I am just saying.
  16. How about 6 spots ahead of Vandy on Scout and will be ahead on Rivals when team ratings updated. Were also 28-1 in the last 29 games. We have also had 3 of the worst years in history and still beat Vandy handily. All these Vandy fans are looking in their crystal ball and seeing things changing. When UT has the only crystal ball that matters, the one in our trophy case that says BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. I have to admit though your Bowling team is pretty robust and if they start airing College debate matches on ESPN 13, then I will start to get a little nervous. That is basically where we are at but, Vandy is smart enough to realize that right? I mean their average SAT/ACT scores are off the charts?
  17. I think that is a pretty fair assessment of his talent. Of course if he went to Tennessee it would be a huge upgrade from what they have on the roster now.LOL! I had him projected a low to mid-major talent. I always though Murray State or possibly even Western Kentucky would be the type of school that might be interested in his services.
  18. ?????????????????????????
  19. Any word if the Yarbrough kid is getting any looks from anywhere? He is a great talent as well.
  20. Will they take home all of the Gold Balls this year?
  21. 1. 100% agree 2. I don't think he is the best,he is one of the better Rbs, but if he gets more carries he makes the defense put more in the box and helps to solve point number three. A good analogy in the Chris Johnson effect for the Titans ypc, is down but, offensively they are much more efficient because what defenses have to do to defend the run game. 3. Has completed enough passes. You can live with a lower completion rating when you average the number of big plays (20+ gains) that your receivers can provide. Also see point 2. Scoring points is not the issue here. 4. Running the ball will increase your time of possession and, keep a very suspect defense off the field. I guarantee you if you look at the games in which Medford got the most carries, you will see an increased production in the defense. 5. It is not fair to say what kids would do, if they have never been asked to do something. A coach of the caliber and success as the previous mentioned instantly demands a level of respect and it doesn't take much for kids to buy into them. There are good working class kids on this team.
  22. As bad as I hate to say this I have got to side with Stevie Ray on this one. Personal vendetta or not, some of the coaching this year has been questionable at best. When you have a running back that averages about 8 yards a carry you shouldn't be 5-5. When you have a QB like Dye, you shouldn't be 5-5. When you can trot out 4 WR (Smith,Parr,Wilson, Hudson) of that caliber you shouldn't be 5-5. Sure maybe the defense is a little lacking but, that goes back to 8 yards per carry. They shouldn't even be on the field long enough to give up 30 points.
  23. Yeah that is kind of funny. Dyer County notifying Dyer County that there may be an illegal player. It didn't come from Dyer County, you would notice that it you had any literacy and comprehension skills. Besides Dyer County isn't even looking into it. They are just going to show up and play.
