My question is the same....what is the situation there? Do you have a mat? Do you have a wrestling room or a space to wrestle in? Administration that is supportive of wrestling? Do you have a weight room? Grades 9-11 next year? Would the two fathers be willing to continue to help out as assistants? I have seen the nice high school and know they have a strong athletic pool in that area.....but thats about it.

Holland had a tough tournament but I heard that he had been sick. He still has another year left and has the opportunity to improve under his new coach. I would definately look for him to be competing for the gold next year. Go Eagles! CHOPS

Mara is a good ref but made a bad call. Calling the NCAA championships for the last ten years doesnt necessarily make anyone flawless. I can think of a great deal of terrible calls that have been made in the NCAAs in the last ten years. Mara certainly does not make many bad calls, but last night was an exception in my opinion. However, the call should have nothing to do with the discussion. That was the most disgusting display of behavior I have ever seen in high school athletics. The coaches, family, and everyone involved in that incident should be ashamed of themselves. If I were his coach, he would never wrestle for me again! That was a sad day in TN wrestling. From what I have seen and know of Shooter Houston, he is generally a good kid. I was extremely disappointed. He needs to sit and think about some things in his life. None of us are perfect and we all do stupid things when we are young. However, that behavior was unforgivable. CHOPS

I had multiple opportunities to wrestle Jonathan Leddy. Leddy was a 3 time state finalist and a tough competitor. It is rare to see such toughness associated with a technician of his caliber. He was certainly a gem from the wealth of Brentwood Academy greats in the sport of wrestling. Chubba "Chopping through the hogwash" CHOPS

Bateman and Rich seem like nice guys and decent coaches, but whoever put that PJ2 schedule together must be a complete moron. How did they possibly think they could beat Clarksville with all first year wrestlers. Hopefully Cobb and Clarksville smacked some sense into those goofey freshmen. Keep your heads up PJ2 kids, we need up and coming programs like yours and Brentwood Academy's in our mid-state area. -CHOP SHOP-

I think your sights might be a bit high Molanris. I agree that Rich will be a great coach and he will bring a lot of knowledge to the sport. However, how is JP2s lineup going to be overall? Are they going to have any other athletes besides Fyke and Molnar? Do they have a full lineup? How many kids are out? I think these are all important questions that JP2 has to answer before they could be considered as dominate. However, with the facility and the coach and the couple of kids that I have heard about, I certainly dont think this team should be overlooked even in the immediate future CHOPS

Who is this new Brentwood Academy coach? All I have heard is that he is good and he is from Ohio? If that program has chosen to make a commitment to their program and has hired a good wrestling coach, this could shake up D2 in a major way. The athleticism they have had in the past, combined with actual wrestling technique, could be a very dangerous combination. -CHOPS-

Holder, I believe you are right Holder. JP2 is a new and unproven program, however they should not be overlooked. I have heard Rhett Bateman, a former ryan state placer, is also helping Rich. Could this possibly be happening? A Father Ryan and MBA graduate joining forces at this new school? Both Simpson trained? I have also heard about them having an extremely nice wrestling facility. My prediction is that this will be the program to watch in the near future. -CHOPS-
