Hey OnlineLC, Good to hear from ya... Yeah we did come a little further than that. I don't mind the drive if there is football involved. Yeah, I had to spend the next day shopping.. But hey there is some good food there in Opry Mills too.. Good luck to CPA the rest of the playoffs... We had a major overlook and got an early exit... Not to fun.. We under estimated CAK and it bit us. We didn't play good and they played the game of their lives.. Thats the way it goes though.. Thats what the playoffs are about... Upsets happen.. Just wish it would have been another team... But I'm just as proud to be a LANDER as I was in 2001 in Murfreesboro... See ya around...

Hey krp... A pretty long ride for some trees... But you have got to keep the wife happy. The people I work for right across the line in Elk Park NC have a choose and cut. It is on the left about 200 yards after you cross the line. These are good people....Very honest.. I don't work in the tree part, but I did years ago...This is who I would recommend. pujo may have some advice on this also... He knows a lot of people up that way too... Great trees in Carter and Avery County.

Be more than glad to have you. Although we have some rebuilding to do. Lost a lot of seniors. Some good young talent coming up. But some work to do... I look forward to it though. I will be there win or lose..

Well... I think you are right.. Our weak schedule hurt us. I have said our schedule was to weak... I never denied that. I feel like this loss was due more to overlooking. Just my opinion. Also... In the last three years of playoffs, we have not had a game where we just played plain bad. The games we lost... The championship to E. Harding and in the semi to Boyd... The better team won. We finally had a bad game against a good team. If we could have pulled it out, I think it could have opened the boy's eyes.. To let them see this was not going to be easy. But hey...its the playoffs and there are no second chances. Good win by CAK and I wish them luck. The scheduling isn't the fans fault either... We go to the games give it our all in support and take up for our team on CoachT.. Not much more we can do or say. We have nothing to be ashamed of and I am as proud to be a Lander today as I was back in 2001 when we went to Murfreesboro. Good luck to all the teams...

Thats the way it goes.... CAK came to play... Cloudland overlooked them.. Congrats to CAK good luck down the road.. We are still proud of you LANDERS!

Not really much to say.... CAK came to play and Cloudland did not... CAK scored with 5 seconds on the clock and added an extra point for the win. Good game. CAK a much better team than I had anticipated. I think the same would go for the boys.. They just were not ready to play.. CAK played hard in every play of the game.... Congrats CAK... Well played game.. Good luck on down the road... Cloudland we are all very proud of you... It has been a great run.. We just came up short... Cloudland just overlooked them.. It happens... The bad part is there is no second chance in the playoffs... So thats the way the football bounces...

pujo... Its ONLINELC that has his picture in front of Cloudland. You are right though they are classy. I went to the DCA and CPA game. I got to meet robjim and ONLINELC among others. If CPA plays like they did that night, I don't see anyone from the west beating them. A pretty close game overall. DCA did make their mistakes and CPA capitalized on them. Friday can't come soon enough. CAK looks like a much improved team. It looks like all the teams out of region 2 are pretty equal. Cloudland needs to make a statement in this game to get the other teams from region 2 a little worried. Take one game at a time boys.... The fans will do their part.... Wow...Dakota will love this.. Could be another 300 yard game like when he was a sophomore and a team from your district attempted to shut Byrd down. I just can't see CAK stopping Cloudlands offense. I also feel like our defense is better that Greenback, Midway or Onieda. Only time will tell. I may go on down to the field Monday and just wait for Friday to get here..

Well it is the playoffs and anything could happen. There will be some upsets which could jumble things up a bit. Seeing the CPA, DCA game if CPA plays like that I don't see anyone from middle or west beating them. Ezell looks to be playing a lot better from the game with Lipscomb. No disrespect to South Pitt but I think Boyd will eliminate them. If Cloudland plays up to their potential they should make it to the semi. Home field advantage could be the key to the game with cold or bad weather a possibilty. Seems some of the teams don't like "The cow pasture" much. As some that visited have called it. We wouldn't have it any other way... We have a great team but it is hard to tell just how good we are until we see some better competition. The starters have not played a full game all season. So it will be good to see what the boys are capable of in a full 4 quarters.

Well we have to get that far first but I plan to be there. Good to see ya dog! Having fun at all wedding functions?.. I will save plenty of room for all... That is the bad thing about being so crazy about the Landers.. I feel like I am in a panic until I am sitting right on the 50 where I belong.. So I get there about an hour and a half before the game.. So I am the official seat saver. OnlineLC... Sounds good. I will make the reservations today.. Would you prefer spring or summer at the park? Are you shipping the boys... I mean "the package" UPS? Cause it seems here at work we get quite a few things in damaged. Don't want one of them to come out of the boxes limping or worse. As an added bonus... We might be able to get you a couple of free meals at the "Snack Shack".. One of Roan Mountain's finest dining establishments. (Remember the guy you sat beside at the game?)...I'll keep you posted on the packages..

Ahhh.. Lets keep it to ourselves.. They have enough to worry about with all the playoff pairings and such... Landers really does remind me of Dakota Benfield. He is fast and follows his blocking really well. Did you say he was a Junior? We could use him next year for sure.. We might be able to throw in a couple of free nights at the Roan Mountain State Park.. And free deer rides. The key is catching them. It is like trying to catch Byrd or Benfield out of the backfield..

Hey Online LC and robjim... Good to see ya'll..... I think pujo had the best idea... Send Luke up here along with big #8 and we will take care of the hats.... The hat that I had on down there has CHS on the back... Plus you boys might have some kind of witchcraft in mind.. With Halloween tomorrow... I can see you and OnlineLC dressed in little witches costumes around a fire.. Stirring the witches brew and tossing the "Landers" hat in.. Muttering some chant... So I better hold on to it.. robjim didn't look a day over 70... What do you mean OnlineLC? Plus.. Pretty? Maybe I need glasses....

I know there were Cloudland fans there that wasn't my argument. I just thought anyone from here would be to proud of our team to make such a quick decision. All the people that I had talked to that were at the game gave me a much different opinion. But hey...Only time will tell.. We both have to make it that far first...

Wow...KRP a huge surprise. A very stand up post. But don't sweat it... It wouldn't be any fun if everyone pulled for the same team. Would make for a very quiet game huh? We all just get pretty passionate sometimes because it always seems we are having to defend the Landers. If its not our schedule its the talent of our players... And it goes on... But if you like to fish and hunt.. You just described 90 percent of the people in the big town of Roan Mountain. (Next to football of course) . Maybe we will get to see SP up here later.. But we both have 3 other games to play first. So we will see what happens...

I promise you they were not Cloudland fans that said that. Much to proud to say it even if it was true.(which it is not). I can tell exactly where this thread is going... And it looks like people would get tired of reminding us that we have a weak schedule. WE KNOW! Its not like we plan it that way... We have our conference games...Which are weak... That we can't control... Then we schedule Cherokee a traditionly solid 4A team.... Then we schedule Sulivan East who is 4A and decent. They have 5 times as many students as we do... Then we schedule Appalacha Virginia. The runner up in the state last year. No way to know they would have the type of season that they have had. I could go on...But what is the use... Who cares? A NEW season begins a week from Friday. That is what matters.. If the weak schedule bites us in the playoffs there isn't much we can do about it then... Because I don't think the TSSAA will let us have a "Do over" so we can schedule tougher teams at this point.... So let it go..

Well, I saw first hand Wooden against one of the real teams in your list here. They shut him down... I'm not saying he isn't good, just that CPA shut him down. Boyd is the only team in Byrd's 4 years here to keep him at bay. He still didn't do to bad having broke his hand during the game and played the remaining time. You can say what you want to about cloudland's strength of schedule now but he has had great games against teams like Austin East, Oliver Springs, Greenback, Midway, South Pitt... And the list goes on... So stop trying to tarnish his accomplishments. Or find another excuse.....

Hey robjim, ONLINE LC and all the other fans we met Friday. Nice to meet some other fans face to face. We had a great time and made it back with just enough money to stop and buy a Diet Coke in Roan Mountain. So the ladies had a pretty good time shopping as you can tell. Good game. It was actually closer than the score made it look. CPA did dominate for the most part. Both teams have tremendous talent and skill players. CPA's defense was the key to the game in my opinion. Very quick and disciplined. After DCA's run to make it 14-14, when CPA blocked the field goal and took it to the house. (while DCA stood there and looked at the ball on the ground) It pretty much took them out of the game mentally. From there DCA made several mistakes that CPA capitalized on. Landers is a good back. Hard not to like him with a name like LANDERS . But with #8 leading him and good blocking from the line, it made it look easy for him. QB has a pretty good arm, but clearly in this game at least. The strength of CPA's offense was their running game. (Which is contrary to what I had heard so maybe is was the game plan for this game). Anyway..... We had a good time and enjoyed the game. I look forward to hopefully meeting one of you down the road... Online LC keep that picture on your profile...Or better yet when you come back through the big town of Roan mountain give me a call and I will bring you my Lander hat. I think it needs just a little tweaking..

Great post aatiad... I can't stop laughing. Thanks for all the explanations, and the advice. We are heading down in the morning. Takes about 5 hours and we gain an hour. So I might even have enough time for a little snooze before the game. As for the colors to wear. I think I could at least get away with wearing my "Lander" hat. That way my fellow message boarders could easily tell who I am. I will just have to try not to be captured and interrogated under a heat lamp in a dark room. I will just keep saying "LanderBlue, Roan Mountain Tennessee 37687.

Hey MountainFan.. Sure did.. I have to at least wear my lander hat. Gotta support my boys. I think most will be glad to see us. So we can see what these two teams are really made of. We are good people just crazy about our team . Hey robjim... Where is the best place to stay there close to DCA? I told my wife that we would stay the night and shop the next day. My trade for getting to see the game ...

Good luck to our friends up on the mountain and go Lions. I may do that. Think they will let me in with my Lander Blues on? As far as predictions on the game. I like to wait until it is over... Seems much easier that way... OnlineLC, I'm sure they won't let me in either... I have this disorder... Every 10 seconds or so I uncontrollably scream....GO LANDERS!... There is no known cure..

Some of us are going to head down on Friday. I assume the game starts at 7:30? I am looking forward to it. From all the smack talk and predictions, should be a good one. I can't wait to see if you both are as good as you say you are. Or at least a few of you that refuse to say anything good about anyone but your own. I am diehard but I can recognize other talent.
