  1. It did work in 2002 though ðŸ‘ðŸ»
  2. Yes, Mt.Juliet won 1-0 on a solo HR in the first inning. That was all of the scoring for the game. Good game by both teams. However, I was only trying to silence the chest bumping by a few SD people by reminding them they haven't beaten us in a good while, that's all. Mt.Juliet has been nothing but class as usual, just like their wrestling program...all good people. Good luck to Mt.J next year.
  3. I never won anything at Soddy??? I won't get in to my accomplishments because this isn't about me, but where have you been hahaha? You're funny /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> and will you at least tell me who you are so I can get some amusement out of this? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  4. But we're not talking about 5 or 6 years ago, I thought we were talking about the best this year. Gps beat Mt.Juliet 6-0 this year as well, so I guess they probably would have won AAA too. I think everyone knows D1 is tougher, but that is irrelevant here, GPS was better than SD this year, end of story. Did you even go to the games between them? Surely not, if you had, you wouldn't be arguing /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  5. All I'm saying is SD was not the best team this year. Anyone can try and argue, but its that simple. Fact is GPS has won their tournament the past two years, as well as beaten them head to head. D2 may be like B Ball, but GPS beat the best in D1 straight up head to head. Must be tough to lose to a B ball level team again and again. You can't argue with the results on the field. I'm an SD grad and competed for the school for 4 years, but I think you need to keep it real too. Like I said, if it weren't for the total cancellation of the first game between GPS and SD, it would be 3 in a row for GPS over SD. You can say what you want, but you still lost. Give credit where credit is due. Give it up, and please take off the rose colored glasses.
  6. My guess would be the fact that GPS has owned SD recently. For example, GPS has won the SD tournament the last two years, and if you count the rain out from the beginning of the season that GPS was leading 4-0, they've beaten SD the last three times they've played them...just my guess though
  7. I'm gonna have to agree 100%, Would be a little better if you added "owns Soddy-Daisy" next to GPS /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  8. Soddy and GPS was my favorite...especially the one that was postponed and not finshed /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. as long as GPS doesn't mysteriously change divisions and play in the AAA tournament, the Lady Trojans should be fine /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  10. great game by both teams
  11. neither GPS or Baylor offer scholarships. For recruiting, that was McCallie in the 90's with the wrestling program. GPS has actually been "on the rise" in softball these last few years. I don't know about Baylor, but i know GPS puts much more emphasis on the academic side of things than the athletic side. Coming from a public school, we went at least 50-50 with Baylor and McCallie in men's sports, and domnated GPS and Baylor in women's. I think public schools have the advantage a lot of times based on sheer numbers. For example, SD-1800 students for grades 9-12; GPS-maybe 400 for grades 6-12. My opinion is GPS just happens to have the best team around this year. They're essentially the same team from last year, minus Lamberson and a few others. Another thing, you can pretty much attend the public school of your chopice as long as you're willing to provide your own transportation. You simply get a hardship transfer, not difficult to get. People also move to specific areas to go to certain schools to play sports. It's simple.
  12. that would be the last two years that GPS has won... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  13. GPS is the best team in Chattanooga right now.
  14. GPS @ Soddy was postponed today in the 4th inning due to rain. So far however...GPS leads 4-0 in the top of the fourth
  15. yeah, but the thing is, Notre Dame wouldn't have won anything if they didn't change the rules as far as classification goes. In the old format, they wouldn't even have made it to the semis of the the duals most years. Until they beat someone that's actually good, notre dame shouldn't say anything. Because anyone can have a tough schedule, but you have to beat the tough teams along with the ones you are expected to win. When you can do that, everyone will get off your back. Of course, I've been out of the game for a few years so things may have changed a little, but to me, notre dame is the same as usual, they have just a few guys here and there that really are legit. Bradley and Soddy's Jv teams might have had a shot at the A/AA title if they were allowed to compete ; ).

  17. I believe Mt.Juliet got shutout or held to 1 run by GPS at the Soddy tournament. Ooltewah wins. Holly Thomas will shut them down.
  18. hmm. I'm not sure about some of this. How many teams here have beaten Soddy? 1, GPS did in the Soddy tournament, then beat Ider(Alabama), who is one of the other teams to beat Soddy(who has 3 losses this year) on their way to winning the Soddy tournament, beating Baylor 6-1 in the championship game. GPS beat Ryan 4 or 5-1 on their way to winning the Ooltewah tournament. Plus, they played the entire region tournament without sophomore All State catcher Amy Campbell. 2 of the 3 Baylor losses have come in extra innings, and 2 of the 3 losses they were without Campbell.
  19. Amy Campbell from GPS has a very low %. I couldnt give you a number, but people rarely try to steal on her. She also picks people off at second regularly. She doesn't hesitate to throw it anywhere at any time. She's the absolute best defensive catcher in Chattanooga. I'll even go out on a limb and include the whole state. All you have to do come watch and you'll see.
  20. They are in the same region, so they will probably play eachother in the region finals.
  21. Holly Thomas from Ooltewah has the potential to be the best in a long time from the chattanooga area. She pitches for my sisters summer team (Eagles-Pickett) and flat out dominates about 90% of the time. She's only a sophomore but I've seen her since she started pitching at 9 and has all the potential in the world. Hopefully she'll mature well and take care of business.

I don't understand how someone can be ranked in the nation and finish 3rd in the state in D2. Can someone please explain. Obviously Keller,Tx is not that good...no offense to SBA, I just was not impressed when my sisters team played them last year in the state. Did they get some transfers or something?
