I don't think I would say Stewart County is so good in basketball. What have they really done in the past couple of years? Last year, with what was supposed to be one of their best teams in years, they couldn't even make it to the district finals and then were one and done in the region. On the other hand, teams like Harpeth, Sycamore and Cheatham keep winning even in 'down years'. Look for the Cheatham County schools to continue dominating this district in not only basketball, but all sports.

What are you talking about? What is Waverly's freshmen from Lakeview? The Harpeth boys won the junior high state tournament last season while drilling Waverly on 4 different occasions. This Harpeth class of freshmen will definitely make some noise as a couple will contribute on varsity this year.

I can't believe you actually picked Harpeth 3rd. Harpeth girls are going to be just fine. It will be close between them and Sycamore, but I think Harpeth comes out on top. Also, for the post on Waverly girls being undefeated in junior high? That means absolutely nothing. I do think they will be ok though as I thought they did pretty good last year at times. We will all find out soon.

Isn't the old coach from Waverly over there now. I saw him at the district tournament last year and someone said he was coaching at the junior high. I always thought he did a real good job with his teams at Waverly so its got to help Stewart County if he is coaching the junior high team.

The district should be exciting this year again. I am thinking Harpeth is the favorite as they have looked good in preseason. Sycamore and Cheatham County will be pretty good also. Stewart County with Jake West should be good while Wavery is always pretty good and should bounce back this year. Cody Dunn is one of the best players in the district so Montgomery Central will be ok. Don't know much about Creek Wood or Fairview. Ready for basketball season to begin though as our football is over now.

No matter how you multiply, the private schools will continue to dominate. Class A - Trinity Christian Academy (private) Class AA - Goodpasture (private) Class AAA - Soddy Daisy (public) Just be glad we don't have private schools in AAA or we would take this division also.

Big win tonight for Harpeth against a very good Clarksville team. They travel to Waverly tomorrow for a very important district game. Is it true Waverly is missing some starters?

What are the dates for the MTSCA tournamement next season? Where will it be held? Will it be the same format with two divisions again? Any quick information will be appreciated.

Looks as if Sycamore has the inside track to the number 1 seed. Don't count Harpeth out if they can get some help. Could be a good tournament as some of the bottom teams are very capable of pulling an upset.

To NVGV...get a life. Do you realize how stupid you are to come on this board and try to trash the Waverly softball coach? I'm not from Waverly, but have known him since I first broke into coaching. I've seen him coach several games in both softball and basketball. I can tell you this, and any coach in the middle Tennessee area will tell you the same thing...he is a first class guy all the way! I would say you are an upset parent who has a kid who just can't make the grade and therefore you can't get over your past failures and live your life through your child. I would say Coach Webb is doing something right as every team I have ever seen of his plays hard, shows a lot of class and is usually very successful. What more do you want? You should feel fortunate you have a man like that there. I agree with Littlegar, if you have a problem with the coach then why don't you go to see him face to face instead of hiding behind a computer screen. I think everyone knows the answer to that question...you're a gutless coward, know you're wrong and would tremble in your boots standing next to him. Coach, continue doing things the way you do and don't waste your time responding to these idiotic comments this fool has made. I've always enjoyed watching your teams compete and wish you the best of luck. By the way, good win against Sycamore. Harpeth and Creek Wood had a good one tonight as well.

Good game to watch tonight as Creek Wood prevailed and remained undefeated in the district. Harpeth put up a good fight and showed they can play with Creek Wood. What are the exact standings in the district as of now?

Saw where Northside won big over Waverly, but was only up 4 at halftime. What was the difference in the second half? Did Northside allow Waverly to hang around for awhile before turning it on? Who looked good for both teams and any good highlights? Also, when do they play at Waverly?

I haven't had a chance to see Waverly play yet, but from talking to others who have seen them it appears they are playing very well. If I'm not mistaken they have a lot of seniors. I would also say they easily have the most talent in the district and should be the odds on favorite to win the district. Although the most talented team doesn't always win. Harpeth and Cheatham game was a good one the other night. Still think Cheatham will get 2nd with Harpeth 3rd.

There is no such rule concerning a player attending school on the day of a game. It is left up to each individual school. Some schools have their own rule that a player must be at school on the day of a game to play, but most schools do not have any such rule.

I think Sycamore will finish 1 and Waverly 2, with Cheatham County, Montgomery Central, and Harpeth fighting it out for the 3 and 4 spot. I don't think Creekwood or Stewart County have any chance at all. The top 4 spots are up for grabs though between the 5 teams I listed with any team capable of winning the District. Harpeth is probably the odd team out and won't advance to the Region. Should be a good District tournament. Who is hosting it this year year?
