  1. He is doing good. They released him from the hospital and it appears it was a severe stinger. Thanks for the concern. McKenzie has a very good team and that defense really shut Collinwood down. You didn't get Collinwood's best effort tonight. The game tonight looked a whole lot like the Wayne County game. After #7 got injured it appeared to take the wind out of the Trojan's. Not saying they could have beaten McKenzie but it would have been a little more competitive. It's been a while since Collinwood was in the playoffs and the experience of McKenzie was very evident. Congrats on a big win and good luck next week against Moore County.
  2. Collinwood also lost Ashley Carter to graduation. These 2 players are a big loss, but there are girls ready to step up and fill these positions. Plenty of senior leadership and some talented juniors should make for a very good season. Summertown is still the team to beat. They are the defending district champs, but I like Collinwood's chances this year. Perry Co. should be a better team this year also.
  3. Does any one know who the winner was?
  4. Not much going on here on the softball boards. I haven't heard anything from D12. Collinwood is having a good year. The girls are 15-1 so far this year. They still haven't put a complete game together yet. If all the girls get it together, they will give a good run for the title. We are still very young. They start 1 senior, 2 juniors, 5 soph's, and 1 freshman. Several good players on the bench. Loaded with young talent. It will be tough to make it all the way, but I feel they can do it if things come together. With teams like Trinity Christain, Forrest, Cascade, Summertown (just to name a few), winning the state will be tough. Let's hear from some other teams out there and let all of us know how you feel about your team. Good luck to all of you throughout the remainder of the season.
  5. I think Collinwood could be in the hunt in 1A......Almost the entire team returning this year.....Played Trinity Christian in a tournament last year and lost by a run in extra innings.......We were eliminated by Columbia Acad. last year and they lost Emily.....They will still be a very tough team as usual, but C'Wood started several Freshman last year and now they are experienced and ready for bigger things....Don't know how far we will go, but we are very excited about this still young team....Good luck to all the girls.....I will add that Trinity is definately the team to beat......They have a great team....
  6. It's been a very long time since I've posted anything on CoachT.......I know how hard it is for a rural 1A school to raise money for athletics.....I can assure you, we (Collinwood) don't get tax money for athletics.....All of our booster clubs have to raise money for their programs....Obviously Football is able to raise more money than the others, at least here that is...It takes an awful lot of money to run a football program, whether it is public or private......To all the parents that work so hard, we thank you.....I wish more would participate, but we all know how that is.....I feel so bad for the other programs.....I have a daughter playing softball and it is so difficult for them to raise the money they need.....We had a donor give money this year so we could buy some bleachers.....We are blessed to have a few people that have a little money to share with us and we really appreciate them.....Sorry for ranting on, just wanted to add my 2 cents worth....
  7. What are your predictions for this semi-final game? If Wayne Co continues there team play they can pull this one off. Peabody is a great team and this game should be another great one.
  8. Wayne Co pulled off what most people felt wasn't going to happen. It seems like the only teams given a chance were Temple, Pickett Co and Peabody. Well 2 of those are gone now. I figure most will pick Peabody and Middleton now. It will be interesting to see what discussions will appear now. It should be an interesting semi's. Good luck to Wayne Co and all others. Play hard and clean and may the best team win.....

I don't see the WC/CA score means anything. It doesn't mean the Cats are not that strong. CA gave Collinwood a scare 2 years in a row while the Trojans were going undefeated in region play. One was a 1 point win at home after C'wood intercepted a pass in the endzone to clinch the game. The other was a 4 point win at CA. C'wood trailed the entire game and scored with less than 5 min. to go and then intercepted a pass as CA was driving for the possible winning TD. So, I don't think this score means anything except WC didn't play their best game and CA was able to take advantage of some mistakes. This happens in sports. I look for WC to come back strong and be undefeated when they meet C'wood in the Boro. If C'wood doesn't play better than they did against MP, then we will all see WC meet MP for the region title with both teams undefeated. Good luck to all reg 6A teams, especially the Trojans.
  10. bottomline, Why don't you tell us what classless acts you witnessed Friday in C'wood. All the fans I witnessed were just disgusted that we played so bad and got whipped like we did. None of it was directed at MP. I didn't see anything on the field that was unsportsmanlike. How many penalties were called on C'wood for unsportsman like conduct? MP played a great game and won big. It is some of the MP fans that are showing no class on here after the win. On another thread it was stated at least your starters got to play 3 quarters. Well they played until the 9 minute mark of the 4th quarter. The game was well in hand before then. Why did they need to play that long? It was 2 years ago when C'wood beat MP very bad, but the starters came out after the 1st series in the 3rd quarter. Maybe your coach wanted to run it on up this year. Thats fine and it doesn't bother me. MP was obviously the better team, but I did not see any one from C'wood being classless. If they were, then I will apologize on there behalf right now. Good luck to MP the rest of the season and hopefully some of your fans will learn to win with class.
  11. Congrats to MP Tigers on a big win tonight. The Webster kid looked good. C'Wood didn't play well at all. That was the worst attempt of tackling I've seen in quite some time. They tried to take the Webster kid down by grabbing at his shoulders. He is way too strong to bring down that way. Collinwood looked like they played scared tonight. MP was definately the best team in all aspects of the game tonight. I think we can safely say the region will be decided when the Tigers play the Wildcats. I did see where the Wayne Co./CA game was a lot closer than most thought it would be. CA seems to give WC and C'Wood trouble. Of course I don't know what happened in that game, so I'm just going by the score. Once again, congrats to the Tigers and I wish C'Wood could have given you a better show. Best of luck for the rest of the season...
  12. Justin Bryants family moved to Waynesboro so he could attend Wayne Co. His parents checked with TSSAA and everything was done according to the rules. Talk about someone not knowing the facts. nashprivates you should check yours before you spout off about something you know nothing about. As for the C'Wood/Mt. Pleasant game: I hear the Tigers are up for this game. I hope the Trojans are ready. If they play up to their potential, this will be a very good game. We will see Friday who comes out on top. Good luck Trojans....
  13. I played for Collinwood in that 63-0 loss to lynville. It was the last game in the 1st season ever at Collinwood. They showed no class and ran the score up. All starters were playing until the final horn. Collinwoods coach was very upset and threw the opposing coach off our bus when he tried to explain it was for his seniors. Oh well that was nearly 30 years ago and Collinwood has come a long way. Sometimes no matter what you do, you can't keep the score down. I once heard a well respected coach respond to another coach on the staff that said coach should we take a knee. He said they have 11 kids on the field just like us, If they don't want us to score then they need to stop us. Now this was with all 2nd or 3rd string on the field. I believe you need to let your subs play to their best and what happens happens.....

According to the schedule I have, the games begin on Feb. 6th and continue on the 7th, 13th 14th, 20th and 21st. It appears all the championship games are on the 21st. The games are played in Springfield at SMS and Center. I don't know anything about Springfield but, I'm guessing SMS is Springfield Middle School and I don't know what Center is. I only have the schedule for Class 1A thru 3A.
  15. lions23, I resent the statement that the players didn't want to win at Collinwood last year. I know who you are and one of the players your talking about was Jacob and I can assure you he wanted to win. He gave 100% every night. He never gave up on a play. I know there were several times he was the only playing flying down the court on a break away by the opponent. He was able to prevent a lay-up on several occasions due to his hustle. So don't get on here and knock the kids, especially mine.......... If Justin wanted to go to Waynesboro, that's his business, but don't knock the kids that played last year and the ones that choose to stay in Collinwood and play.
