Hey FBman16, May God be with you in North Carolina. It is a shame that you have leave TN to find a job somewhere else. And that is something that should not happen. I am just wondering if politics gets into the systems of TN, because there are numerous jobs postings on GA and KY. However, in TN, it seems when something comes up, it is not relayed here or somewhere else. It might be shown on a system's website, but that is probably not viewed by very many people. The site on tssaa is good, but there are other openings that are not listed and they should be listed. You can find many openings in GA that are listed, but here in TN, they are not listed. I would like to see more people use coacht and post many other openings like they do in GA. Anyway, hope you can get back to TN sometime. God bless.

It should be over, We outplayed them the first 2 games, so lets hope we get it done and we win 4 games to 2. Coach Pack is a Class Act>>> It was interesting to find out the situation surrounding what happened, but when all is said and done....what is most important is the character and integrity in what he did. While it happened at a Christian school, it should be done at any school if it happens because of the lesson it teaches. It is really wonderful to see all the good posts about David because he knew what to do. To me, this is something that Jesus would have done and it looks like David did what Jesus would do. What is also impressive is the quality of the school in all of this as well as the rules of the TSSAA. I share that because I came back to TN 6 years ago because TSSAA is one of the best around concerning state sports. Furthermore, I have been in Christian schools where they did not adhere to the rules and the rules of the Conference, etc. really did not measure up to that of the TSSAA. We had a player at one school who played in the District baseball tournament even though he was suspended from school during that week. However, the school saw no fault at that and they did not understand what I had set up in the rules and in the Christian philosophy. I have also played another school when we had to play teams 4 times during the season as it was a small league. Each time we played this team, they had different players from the time before and I thought, something is not right. And it was a Christian school, yeah, right. I did not see it that way. Are there other situations out there where lack of character and integrity goes missed in our attempts to show great examples to children and adults. With the title and information, you already know I am seeking a position for this coming school year. I have more than 10 years of teaching experience, mostly through private schools. My certification areas are Physical Education, History and Science. I have no preference concerning the subjects, but most of my experience is in Physical Education and History. Concerning Physical Education, my strengths are the multitude of skills that I have taught to children through several situations. The ability to teach, observe and correct the physical mechanics of skills is a major strength of mine. Students will be involved in learning not only sport-specific skills, but also axial, locomotor and manipulative skills. In addition, the wide variety of activity games students will engage in will be for their overall development of skills, fitness, etc. There are other activity games that I have created which involve students playing sports games in different ways. Students will also be taught how to set up fitness programs and there will be discussions and information for them concerning a healthy diet. I will be brief about History and want to share that students would be engaged in doing many thinking activities by way of creative worksheets, discussions, class participation, imagination activities, etc. If I lecture, it would be short with an outline that would assist the students as well as asking questions during that time. As for coaching, I have coached the following sports with a great deal of success: Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Football, Softball, Tennis, Golf, and Track. I would certainly like to find a Head Coaching in most of these of these sports. However, I would enjoy being an Assistant just to be a part of helping a coach and the players excel toward success in their life. We should talk. I am from Selmer, but you are talking about the other Coach Maxedon who will be at Selmer Middle forever, ha. I am a close relative and I was actually there until 1988. I left and have been around the South, but want to get back to the area of West TN as Selmer is my hometown and UTM is where I got my B.S. degree. Where are you now.

Whoa, Yall sure have alot to write about and just skimming through the pages, I learned a great deal. Some talked about teachers who were not very good, others about students not caring about a test, etc and that is frustrating in our system these days. As an Interim this year for a short while, I learned that most high school students are not looking to the future, their lack of concern for what is in front of them is not there and it should be. I saw where Region4 Fan gave a compliment to ELA about getting students to think and that is so important these days. Last year I read a book on improving our schools and the author said numerous times that teaching the tests is what the problem that lies on many of the teachers. I have witnessed that in a school system and I thought, just start doing different lessons, ask questions, etc, get the students to start thinking instead of just using the information in the book. I have done that in every Social Studies class I taught, because I wanted to provide my students with so much information to help them learn and apply it to their learning process. I am looking for a Position, so maybe I should I be careful in what I write, but with a degree, certificate and everything I have yet to find the position I am seeking which is Physical Education. I am a teacher and with all the information coming out now on obesity and other problems, we need teachers who are going to go in and teach. I spoke with someone who subbed for a week in a PE class. She said she was worn out everyday. And yes, that does happen and it needs to happen more. I have commited myself to never cheat a child when I teach because there is so much I want to teach. I mean how many children really know how to throw a ball, catch a ball, bounce a ball, hold a bat, swing a tennis forehand, etc. How many children know the principles of a fitness program. All it takes is going into a class, teaching skills, correcting skills, drills, activity games, other various games, teaching fitness concepts by exercising and having the students run everyday, etc. Oh, there is more, but the whole process starts with going in and teaching and that is not done enough these days because too many children are not getting the quality instruction that they need. I should think more of getting into Science of which I am certified, but for me, students need quality instruction in Physical Education and with the knowledge and expertise I have in this area, students will know they are learning because of my enthusiasm of teaching them. I figured this is another way to get my information out there on finding a Basketball Coaching position at the Middle School or High School level. I certainly have experience at the High School level as well as the Middle School level with many years of coaching basketball.
