  1. Dandy82, We all know "recruiting" happens at some public and some private schools. Be careful when you compare BA to other schools when it comes to recruiting though. Some people I know tell me they are not appreciated in the private school circles for their aggressive approach to "attracting" athletes either. Believe me, BA is in a class all by themselves in this deal. [Edited by kangaroo on 12-12-02 12:47P]
  2. Dingo and RHSfan, I had the same problem on an earlier reply post as well. It seems to be related to some sort of time out parameters on the site. I have started composing in MS Word (Word Pad should be OK also) before actually opening the reply box and then doing a copy/paste routine to CoachT. That way you can go back and repeat the reply post without losing all of your work if you get kicked off. This method also has the added advantage of spell checking before posting. Once you are sure your post is on the board, simply close your word processor without saving and all is well.
  3. With all due respect to you dogbreath, I must ask what is the purpose of your post here? Three things are obvious to everyone. First, private schools have won the majority of 1A state championships recently. Second, rural schools like those you support need some relief in the current classification system. Third, most everyone on the board agrees that some changes need to be made. I admit that I am new to the board, but I have read enough to know that you seem to keep repeating the obvious. Continuing to complain about other schools and repeating the same old rhetoric will not help us resolve the problems. Am I wrong? If I am wrong, then set me straight. If I am right, why not spend your time and energy suggesting ideas for improving the system?
  4. Again, please correct me if I'm wrong, but your recent posts seem to be directed toward securing some relief for rural 1A public schools in classification for sports purposes. I agree with you completely if that is your goal. These schools deal with some very unique circumstances that include small enrollments and very limited financial resources. My point for you is that with very few exceptions, other posters agree that you guys need some relief from the current system. Not to be critical, but why keep spending time and energy beating up other schools? Would your time not be better spent working on, and sharing possible solutions to your dilemma?
  5. DINGO, the background information you provided on the formation of Division 2 is something that I am unfamiliar with. I am interested in learning more about the dynamics of this debate. Can you share additional facts about the Chattanooga McCallie influence and the meetings that took place? Also, can you direct me to the pertinent public records that you refer to?
  6. With all due respect to you PUJO, I must ask what is your point? Two things are obvious to everyone. First, most private schools have nice facilities which they need to attract students. Second, rural schools like yours need some relief in the current classification system. I admit that I am new to the board, but I have read enough to know that you seem to keep repeating the obvious. Am I wrong? If I am, then set me straight. If I am right, why not spend your time suggesting ideas for improving the system?

  8. The players don't care about the public-private thing or anyones ideas about watered down competition period. You guys are right about one thing, the players that get a ring will be happy. This whole discussion is about the egos of a bunch of you on this site and at the TSSAA. It looks to me like whoever can talk the best smack, quote the most statistics, or use the biggest and most snobbish words in this debate thinks they can control the outcome. WRONG!!!!
  9. Public 1. Public schools will win more state championships. 2. Small rural schools will compete with others more like themselves. 3. Most public schools will get along well because they are for the most part like minded. 4. Some public schools will end up accusing others of recruiting. Private 1. Private schools will win more state championships. 2. Private schools will be able to control their own athletic destiny once they have thier own board or organization in place. 3. Most small private schools will start giving some type of financial aid which will help them attract students. 4. Private schools will get along well because they are for the most part like minded. Bottom line, a split will make the most people happy. SPLIT = YES
