As for Rikki she is super talented and from what I had read has really stepped up since recovering from her injury. I agree it was an exciting game. Question to Brutus (as a coach) Unaka had a similar lead at HV and let it get close at the end just like Unicoi. Are you saying Unaka could have a depth problem? The officials were terrible and somewhat helped Unaka to get back in the game late but could have hurt early. They probably helped more than hurt, NO EXCUSES MADE. Just looking for a thought, anybody .

Anti-Lander, Flossie has a few good points: (1) Cloudland did sweep Unaka last year (2) They both are winning "Except against TN High" (3) Games are not won or lost on this message board Just trash talk Anti-Lander also has a few good points: (1) TN High is down a little with injuries (2) HV host one of the weakest Tourneys around (3) Unaka has 2 wins from the area that has more GOLD Balls than Fort Knox. Should be some great ball played in Carter County this year!! Would like to see Betsy host a tourney and invite these two teams!!!

The Bailey kid is the real deal!! Just a quick question (Can he be Stopped?) Unaka has been known as a defensive team for many years and had great success. Not to take anything from the current team, but are they looking for the offense to carry them now?

And another problem is which Justwatchin do you believe? I feel Rusty does deserve the award. Also Coach Ensor and his staff. That bone-head move that Ensor made last night cost the team the win. I don't think Ensor has a clue on how to coach the team he has this year. He made a total jerk out of himself last night, it was like he was out of control. I watch a lot of basketball, not just Unaka and I've yet to see an exibition put on by another coach like Ensor did last night. I was embarassed for him as well as the team. It looks like you need to take a course in anger management or something because you treat those boys like crap. And no I don't have a son playing, thank goodness. I know their not "babies" anymore and this isn't "elementary" ball, but for petes sake, their not perfect and their going to make mistakes. Tell them what their doing wrong, show them how to do it right, but don't belittle them in front of the whole school. Those boys must really love the game to put up with some of the crap that they have to put up with. The sooner you realize that this isn't the team you had last year, the better off the team will be. First, Congrats on an excellent year to date RANGERS. Next DIGGS when was the made public about the coach of the year? As far as that goes when was the Player of year announced? Congrats to both Donald and Rusty if this is fact. Coach Ensor has done a great job preparing a young team.and Rusty has played well this year. Looking forward to seeing more his senior year.

justwatchin, I tried to let this go but this is pitiful. You mention the golden rule about treatment of the boys from the coaches, How about the BIG MAN screaming at the coaches across the gym about patience. Maybe you need to look in the mirror. Better yet shut up and let the coaches tell #24 how to play and what to do. The boy is a very talented player but has to stay confused between the coaches yelling and BIG MAN in the stands yelling different instructions. THINK ABOUT IT!! [Edited by GMA on 1-8-03 10:18P]

I heard from one of Unaka's players that their 3 coaches really weren't too upset about not playing on Friday. Rumor has it they took advantage of their free time and got a well overdue HAIRCUT. Thanks Coach Gordon they where starting to look a little SHAGGY!!

Well, it seems like a year since we played at home in Carter County: Happy Valley got invited to the Big City last night for some lessons in Basketball. Hampton is gone to Johnson County Tonight and based on the weather predictions from UH for Carter County they may never get home. Cloudland had games cancelled due to a death at Cedarview Christian and that is fully understandable. Unaka invited University High over for a friendly Conference Game and according to what i have read, had to be cancelled due to EXTREME WEATHER. What has the fine people in Carter County ever done to deserve this punishment from the Basketball Gods? This has got to be the only county in the State that has no Basketball Bouncing Tonight. Please Post Scores from other Counties as they come in!! WE NEED BASKETBALL!! WILSON WHERE ARE YOU???

I got this from the Newport Paper: The Cosby girls fell to 2-3, losing 85-51 to the Lady Rangers. The Lady Eagles played a solid first half, leading throughout, and took a 36-33 lead into the halftime break. The second half, however, was a Unaka blitz, 52-15, which included a 31-6 differential in the fourth quarter. What does a Coach say to get this result? Don't post it if you know for sure because I promise it would make the best sellers list!!

I knew something was up cause at Unaka freshman never get over 1-2 minutes in a vasity game, I thought it was some unwritten rule there. Looks like this kid could see some playing time with results like that. Playing time can't be taught and I don't believe 1 young talented player on the floor with 4 experienced players will completely fold a team. 1-2 minutes of varisty floor time can't do anything but help down the road when you need to rest someone.

Who's the Lowe kid with 12 points? I never seen his name in the papers before. Is he a transfer from the Bahamas or did he just become eligible from another school? That was a big win for Unaka in Greene County especially. Good luck Rangers, it will be a long hard trip back to the BORO!

Wilsonball is correct, and I guesss I got caught up in the moment. The Ranger Fans are some of the loudest in the East part of TN, especially (like UT) when their team is winning. How about the crazy blonde who ran onto the court at Oneida when the girls played last year. Did her daughter graduate?

Cosby has a good team (maybe not as highly rated as you are giving credit) and Unaka did win big (by 34 points). Unaka's girls team is young and talented, they have an excellent coach, mix it all together and on any night you may have the makings of a Championship team, however the Cosby game was exceptional with Unaka scoring 52 points in the second half. Possible trip to the boro this year! I also feel on any night Cloudland can do the same, should be a great battle between them. The lady lander know how to get to the boro and may go again this year.

justwatchin, Most girls cant'afford to cheer at Unaka these days it isn't about school spirit it seems it's about money. Then when the one of the sponsers decides she does feel like going the girls are left at home. I think someone from the school should have enough back bone to tall the parents money doesn't allow your daughter to cheer SPIRIT and dedication does. [Edited by GMA on 12-15-02 11:29A]
