  1. I'm not sure how you figure Payne doesn't belong in the discussion. First off, he was a starter on the Memphis YOMCA team that won Peach Jam this past summer. Secondly, his high school team has played quality competition and he is averaging 19 ppg and 4 apg, and 3 spg. They have played teams like Columbia High (Decatur, GA) that was ranked #9 in the country at the time (Payne had 19 against them), they played White Station (he had 17 points), and against Bolivar (he had 32 points). Plus the kid has several Division I offers (from Murray St. and Arkansas St.) to name a few. Plus Belmont is coming after him hard as well. I don't know too many kids in Division II-A with those accolades. So for you to say he doesn't belong at least in the discussion is a huge mistake, in my opinion.
  2. Lausanne has played the toughest schedule in Division II-A in the state without question. They played Dyer County, Southwind, and Memphis Central (all ranked in the Top 10 in AAA in the state). If that's not enough they have played Oakville Senior High School in Missouri (2010 AAAAA state runners up), Lee High School in Huntsville, AL (2010 AAAAA State Champions), and Forsyth Country Day School (one of the best private schools in the state of North Carolina). Lastly they have played Bartlett (good AAA team), Southaven (5A school in Mississippi) and Germantown (AAA). Their true strength of schedule ranking is not reflected on here because their full schedule isn't on here and because it doesn't take into account the out of state teams that they have played.
  3. 3 Starters from the JV squad???...try 1 starter that played JV. Let's not over-exaggerate. If 3 of the varsity starters also played JV and lost by 40 how could Lausanne beat DC's varsity? Lausanne had 2 players that played both JV & Varsity last night. Only 1 of them started in the varsity game.
  4. Rumor is that he isn't returning to St. George's and is going to Olive Branch. Has anyone else heard this?
  5. Any idea why the current coach is leaving?
  6. Has anyone heard anything about how the search is going?
  7. Oak Hill Academy, Mouth of Wilson, Virginia has a need for a Boys Red Team Basketball Coach. The Red Team is not the nationally known travelling team that is known for the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Josh Smith, Jerry Stackhouse, Stephen Jackson, Rajon Rondo, Rod Stickland, Ron Mercer, and Steve Blake. However, the Red Team plays a varsity schedule (usually 25+ games) in the states of VA, KY, NC, WV, and TN. All of Oak Hill's teams are sponsored by Jordan or Nike. The departing coach taught World History & Geography (9th & 10th grade level classes). It is not necessary to have a degree in history to teach these courses, as long as you have 8-16 hours in history/civics in college credit hours. This would allow you to apply for an emergency teaching certificate. Benefits: ?· Opportunity to be apart of a nationally known prep basketball powerhouse ?· On-Campus housing is provided (Food and Utilities included) ?· Insurance ?· Annuity ?· School Year from Sept-May ?· A full week for Thanksgiving Break ?· 3-4 weeks for Christmas Break ?· 2 week Spring Break ?· Can work Summer Basketball Camps, or Summer School for supplemental income **All interested candidates please send a cover letter and resume to Kevin White at email_kevinwhite@hotmail.com (the word email is apart of the address).**
  8. I heard they were waiting to hire an Athletic Director first. The Tennessean reported that they hired Father Ryan alum and current Cumberland University AD, Pat Lawson as the new AD.
  9. What kind of team can you expect from Father Ryan next year? Do they have some good players returning?
  10. Isn't Yiesha's last name Bradford? Looks like this is a solid girls game. Have any of these girls signed outside of Kori Penland (UTC) and Catherine Williams (Appalachian State)?
  11. It looks like there is pretty good talent in this game. I'd like to see all of these guys on one team and see how they would do against other all star teams in the state.
  12. I like Hannah Mayo (Dalton) in the 3 point contest. Her sister, Whitney can light it up! She plays for TN Tech and I think they have a brother that plays football for the UT Vols. Their family is full of athletes. Didn't their dad play football at UT with Phil Fulmer, also?
  13. Is there going to be a dunk and 3 point contest again this year?
  14. I can't wait to see Brooke McKinnon play. I heard she is quite a player. Also I'm sure Danielle Rector and Carly Morrow will put on a show.
  15. I can't wait. I'm taking Orlanda Wells in the dunk contest.
