  1. BayouBear, I simply stated that i thought Hooker was the best wrestler in our state when someone suggested that he would not win the state this year. There are a lot of very good wrestlers in our state. Sorry i have an opinion, and opinions are questionable, thats why they are called opinions, and not facts. Thanks for the cheap shot on Kyle. There are lot of cheap shots i could put on here, but i chose to be a grown up and not do so.
  2. I never said anywhere that without a doubt that he is the best wrestler in our state, as there are a lot of tough wrestlers in our state. i said in MY opinion he is the best wrestler in our state. I also never said he was unbeatable, i said that i dont think any one in Tennessee will beat him. Im not going to get on here and give a scouting report on Hooker. If you think there are kids that can beat him in our state that is fine and thats your opinion, but in my opinion i say he is the best in the state of TN.
  3. It does not matter who beat you in kids club. He was undefeated in Tennessee last year as an 8th grader in a pretty tough weight. He had to beat a defending state champion (Bauke), and a defending state runner up (manley) in the state tourny. It is clear that you did not see him wrestle this summer. He beat many many studs this summer from around the country including Clark Glass from Brandon Fl. Its my opinion that he is the best wrestler in our state.
  4. In my opinion....Mike Hooker is the best wrestler in our state. Dont see anyone in TN beating him.
  5. look for Dan Waddell at 149, Brandon Wright at 165, and Seth Garvin at 174.
  6. FACT- Soddy Daisy beat McMinn 21-10.
  7. I think the highest place at jr nationals for Tennessee is Kyle James, he was 4th. Matt Keller took 5th one year and 8th one year. David Mang was 6th last year. As far as i know, those are the only kids from Tennessee to ever place at the jr leval. Fargo is without a doubt the toughest tournament in country. Just ask some of Tennessee greatest wresters like Jordan Leen, Phillip Simpson, Kevin Ward, Corey Manson etc. These guys a long with a lot of other Tennessee greats competed at Fargo every year and never placed.
  8. campbell lewis-soddy daisy, can be mentioned in the same breath as watson and hooker. Also, jamal lackey, ryan gardner, and billy swanson will be tough freshman for Soddy Daisy.

  14. middle school 119. Turbo Smith won pinning all 4 of his matches.
  15. Waylon Lowe was a 3X Div. 2 national champion...was 3rd as a freshman. Got outstanding wrestler his senior year. I got a call from Waylon yesterday. He made the ultimate fighter show that will start airing sometime this June or July on spike T.V. in the 155lbs. He said they start filming May 10, and as soon as they finish filming they will start airing it.
  16. Tucker Russo is the kid that beat Eli. Tucker has beaten Eli a couple times, and Eli has beaten Tucker a couple times. Tucker is 1 year older than Eli. Both kids are studs.
  17. we only have 3 dual titles. It would be a much better stand if Bradley handed over theirs. They have about 100. But it would take a semi truck to get all their dual plaques back to the tssaa, so i guess they will have to keep theirs. I was not saying the dual tourny is not an accomplishment. But its weird to have two different teams say they are the state champions in the same year. And to say that your 2x state champions in one year is not right in my opinion. Just like last year Soddy won both, as Bradley has done a few times, and prolly will again this year. and at the next level (NCAA) the national champion team are decided at the tourny. They have national duals, but ask any coach in the NCAA if they would rather win the duals or the tourny, and all of them would say the tourny because that is where the national champion team is crowned. Just my opinion on this situation. There are prolly a lot of people that think different than me.
  18. The Individual tourny team champion should be the team that actually gets to call their team state champions at he end of the year. A lot of states dont even have state duals. When you get in college the national champion team is crowned by the NCAA tourny. just my opinion. What team has the guys that can go the distance when every team in the state has their best individuals in it.
  19. All Soddy Daisy kids know is the "cow catcher" huh??....Lets see. Im pretty sure Soddy Daisy has won the high school state the last two years. Something tells me whatever they are doing does work at the next leval. Yes, Soddy is having a down year. And that down year is being the 3rd or 4th beat team in the DIV. 1 state. It all comes down to the Soddy Daisy kids are aggresive wrestlers and some coaches (OLPH) can't take it. I have an idea.....If you dont like the cow catcher or the head throw, teach your kids to defend it. It's that simple. Soddy Daisy Kids had 13 champions last week , and nearly 30 kids place at the Baylor tournament. Not bad if you ask me.
  20. you dont know what your talking about. Our tournament is done by the year you were born, not your grade. Your kid must have been beat by a Soddy kid. There is around 400+ kids that have entered the tournament.
  21. Today (WEDNESDAY) is the deadline for entries. There will be no late entries.
  22. reminder, the dead line for entries is WEDNESDAY. Brackets will be made Thursday morning.
  23. There is a lot of the tough kids from Georgia and Alabama that are suppose to be coming. It would be nice to have a good showing out of Tennessee kids. I am expecting 500-600 kids. Please e-mail me your teams entries by Wednesday at turner_rabbit@yahoo.com. If you have anymore questions that is not on the flyer dont hesitate to ask. Thanks, Rabbit Turner ???Trojan Classic??? 24. Not so fast at the 140 prediction. Mikey Fuller will be there as well. He has beaten Carson a few times, and Carson has beaten him a few times. They have been wrestling each other since about the 2nd grade. I look forward to seeing that match, should be a good one.
  25. Dustin Gardner (Soddy Daisy) dec Overmeyer (Brentwood) 7-5 last weekend at the Ooltewah Inv.
