  1. Just one man's opinion here, but the up-tempo style seemed to be the difference. Truth is that Wartburg outdid Humboldt in the fast-paced game in the first half, but there wasn't enough gas in the tank to keep running with the Vikings in the second half. Humboldt's guards blew past the press in the fourth quarter as well as got EVERY rebound in that final frame. Athletes won this ballgame, not basketball players.
  2. Bed - that sounds a lot like the recipe for last year's disaster.
  3. Here is what the Jackson Sun has: Bradford at Clarksburg McNairy at Scotts Hill Greenfield at Lake Co. Westview at Dresden Camden at Henry Co. South Side at Chester Co. Riverside at Bruceton Madison at JCM West Carroll at Humboldt Hardin Co. at Huntingdon Peabody at Union City Milan at Gleason Fayette-Ware at Middleton Covington at Dyer Co. Fayette Academy at Ripley Tomahawk Classic Games: McKenzie vs. Crockett Co. (SSide) Halls vs. North Side (NSide) Liberty vs. Halls (NSide) North Side vs. Liberty (NSide) USJ vs. Dyersburg (USJ) Bolivar vs. Dyersburg (USJ) USJ vs. Bolivar (USJ) JCS vs. Gibson Co. (JCS) Adamsville vs. Gibson Co. (JCS) I have a free afternoon and think the USJ/Dyersburg match-up looks the best. Any other games today and what other venues look like the place to go?
  4. I thought we were just on freshmen. You also have Lee Humphreys (Florida, Maryville) and Desmond Yates (MTSU, Fayette-Ware)
  5. I agree, but boy are the folks from Oliver Springs giving the boards heck about it.
  6. While we're naming names, Willie Kemp has started at PG in all but one game for Memphis this year and Wayne Chism was 1st team all-SEC freshman at Tennessee. Both from Bolivar Central.
  7. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Don't cry. . .. .. the margin of the game may be in question, but the winner never was. Frazier wouldn't have let an 8 point lead slip away with 32 seconds left either way.
  8. I will be glad for Wednesday around 3:15 to get here so the Wartburg people will get about 4-5 hours of "great season guys" and "we're really proud of you" and then get off the T. Maybe the Temple faithful will have more basketball sense.
  9. Sisco isn't leaving, since he returns a team that should be the Class A favorite in 07-08, but. . . . Dyersburg isn't talentless. A former AAA school that now gets to play in a AA district. I don't know the situation with Coach Brown, but if he is gone (whether on his on accord or not) that could be a great basketball situation. A lot of their talent over the years went down the road to Dyer Co. is the only problem.
  10. This is fun to read. Backintheaoc. . . hilarious. . .I'd pay money to watch you post. What's also hilarious is the 5th grade class project at Wartburg Elementary - get on CoachT and post crap about the "Bulldawgs". Learn to spell, stop saying things like "I WILL cheer for my bulldogs", and pick a better name than "Cheer4Dawgs". I'm always touched by blind devotion to one's team, but check out the schedules portion of CoachT instead of just the message board and you'll find no reason to waste $7 to support the "Bulldawgs". Just climb up on top of your hillbilly East TN shack with your transistor radio.
  11. I didn't say I was surprised they won, only that TCA relinquished a lead so quickly and lost by eight after leading the entire way.
  12. We in the West, not boastfully but more quite frankly, tried to warn you guys about Coach Frazier and this group of Gleason Lady Bulldogs. We kept hearing about the great Coach Brown and, though this game could be far from over. . . . . . .hmmm.
  13. Congratulations to Oliver Springs, but what happened to TCA today? Leading the entire way, then a 4th quarter collapse.
  14. Humorous for the first 5 posts about Logan Poore (again, whoever that is). Since then, the last 1,245,253 posts on the young man no one knows have made me want to do myself bodily harm.
  15. I hate to do anything for the Humboldt folks, but I think it's "Hoo Hoo, HEEEEEEEEEEY, Those Vikings in the HOOUUUUSE". .. .at least when I've heard it. I also take this moment to say I thought Union City's cheerleaders stealing that and putting in Tornadoes after Humboldt started that last year was weak. I will take Humboldt by 22. . .88-66. I really think it could be worse, but shooting percentages at the Murph are always terrible in the first round.
  16. Not sure, but I hardly think putting a team that graduated seven seniors is ruling them out in a good district.
  17. These are good. . .add Humboldt, Union City, Bolivar, and Dresden with those qualifications.
  18. I agree with that pick. We all know what the thought is with opinions, but here's mine: 1. Dyersburg 2. Crockett Co. 3. Dyer Co. 4. Milan 5. Gibson Co. 6. Westview 7. Obion Central
  19. Because they're not #1 in the country or anything.
