  1. Midway has played a tougher schedule and may very well be the better team but traveling as far as they are going to travel coupled with the fact that RBS should come out intense with it being their first playoff game RBS may come out on top. As I said RBS has 2 winnable games in these first 2 rounds...
  2. SP will need to find a way to take #84(I believe that his number)out of the game. Earlier in the season I was talking to someone who was at the Monterey game and they told me that Clay didn't do much but throw it up to him and Monterey didn't have an answer for it. When I saw Clay play, as a team I didn't think they were overall very good but has some speed and a big WR on the outside...
  3. RBS has 3 pretty good sophomore running backs they like to run. I along with everyone in RBS I believe is looking forward to this game.
  4. I expected SP to have the advantage in this quad and don't expect any teams to give SP problems until the quarterfinal. RBS has winnable games up until the third round where they would meet SP.
  5. SP better come ready to cover the pass because Clay will throw a lot. Clay's qb is 6'7 with a big arm and they have a 6'5 receiver who they like to throw it up too.
  6. I know nothing about Midway but they seem to be a decent team who's lost to some pretty good teams. I would love to see RBS pull this one off!
  7. Ambassador, the tssaa website has had Gordonsville in the quad with the rest of those teams instead of Oakdale? I know this playoff system benefits RBS but I miss the old way, I've tried to understand this new way but it confuses me.
  8. Post of the year...how gracious if you to grace us with your wisdom. How many games have you seen RBS play this year? I bet not one!
  9. 6-4 in 1978... http://www.hsfdatabase.com/tn_rbs2000.htm Here is all of our games since RBS started their football program....
  10. Who knows how the bracket will end up. No matter the sport at RBS when one of the sports is playing in a big game, if I can make it, I am nearly always there. In RBS's first football playoff game I will definitely be there no matter where it's played at!
  11. Just by looking at the playoff ranking if RBS does play Copper Basin in the first round it should be at RBS? Am I'm reading this stuff correctly on tssaa?
  12. It was an actually fairly competitive game up until about 2/3 in the 3rd quarter when it was 28-12. I can see why TC struggled when Kenyan Harper was out, he's on a different level. Good luck to TC in the playoffs....
  13. RBS hasn't had a winning season since 1978 and this will be the first time in school history that RBS has made the playoffs. RBS may even win a game in the playoffs. Kyle Shoulders should be coach of the year ....
  14. He's from Macon. I don't believe he coaches at Trousdale, but I do believe he assisted at Macon. I don't even know of he played football in high school, he may have but I don't know. I remember him playing baseball because he was a senior when I was a freshman. Before the last couple of years I knew of him but I didn't really know him. When he asked me to announce the football games this year he invited me up for a media day type of thing and talked to me about the football team a bit and showed me the changes he made in the field house and the field itself and I was shocked by how nice everything looks compared to when I played. He's has done a very good job so far!
  15. That's true. The boys have won 2 or 3 games ever year but have been competitive in almost all their games... This year those competitive games have gone RBS's way. They're a young team who's only going to get better and I'm looking forward to watching how they do in the next couple of years.
  16. Looking forward to seeing Harper play. Glad this is in TC...it's a closer drive than RBS is for me!
  17. Gordonsville is not a bad team to have on your schedule because they're usually a pretty good team but Clay and even Jackson probably needs to be dropped because they aren't helping your team anymore. It's kind of what I was saying in the Clay/Macon thread.
  18. No they played Clay last year and Jo Byrns the 2 years before that. As I said Macon was not the mess RBS was and didn't understand why they needed to drop 3 classifications to play Clay. I could careless about comparisons... Do you want me to say RBS plays a soft schedule? Fine, we do but being a program that's had no more than 3 wins in a season in the last 25+ years I think it's good for the program to build around a few wins and eventually have a winning season but like I said I hope in the next couple of years the schedule stiffens up because I think RBS has the talent to be able to handle it. Like I told someone in a previous post, read some of my old post in the basketball forum and you'll see the criticism I had of RBS's girls schedule, especially the first 2 years we were in 8a. I enjoy watching RBS success but I also enjoy watching a good game. Good luck I hope Macon has some success in the playoffs...
  19. I think being fortunate along with improving is part of it. Someone said in another thread that RBS is 9 points from being 8-1. That is true but they're also 10 points from being 3-6 so we've been fortunate as well as unfortunate at times. As I said I was a bit harsh and out of line when I said Clay Co was terrible, I apologize. The qb for Clay and #84 (I believe that was his number) are good very good players, the qb has a very strong arm. It was just suppose to be a critique of Macon putting Clay on the schedule and wondering why. Good luck to both teams and hope both play again after this week.
  20. Football and basketball is 2 different situations. It's a lot easier to compete in basketball than football and traditionally Clay County is a pretty good team. I just have enough respect for the program that they could play up and still pick up a win.
  21. Clinton beat us last year by the way. I was talking with someone today and said I hope our schedule stiffens up the next couple of years because we got the talent to handle it. RBS has a right to put whoever they want on a schedule because we are historically a terrible team and MC isn't the mess RBS has been over the years. This makes the 4th year that I've said this about MC's schedule. If your going to schedule a team like Clay then why not come together and play RBS? MC still gets the easy win and plus brings in a big gate... I'm sure something like that still works both ways though! I may be a fan but go to the basketball boards and read some of my old posts... I was critical of our girls and the easy schedule we play, especially the first 2 years we were in 8a. Pickett can stay because we play the every year but I hope after this year Sale Creek is gone... Actually I wouldn't mind us playing Monterey again.
  22. Clay scored only one time on offense, 2 touchdowns came off kick off returns, and of those 6 turnovers 4 was forced that I can remember. The game was nowhere near as close as the score indicated. RBS is an A school who put another A team on their schedule. Macon is a 4A school scheduling an A school. I may have been a little harsh before, I apologize, but I was saying the same thing last year and when they were playing Jo Byrns as well.
  23. It is the first time in school history..
