We received 2 invitations and would love to go to this, but it can be very cost prohibitive for a lot of people. What is the $50 / plate going for??

Just to bring back up this old subject , correct me if I'm wrong , but I believe Mike Craft won a state championship in Alabama and his son Josh won a championship for East Ridge in 2000 .

What the heck has happened to East Ridge Wrestling?? They don't even have a full team?? They used to be the power house of all. It's hard to believe they can't get enough kids to come out. ?? Anyone know?? Maybe they could hire Chris Bird to come and help..

Matt Bird (sr at ER) and Chris Bird (wrestles for UTC) have an older brother, Isaac, who passed away early this morning. They lost their dad 15 months ago. Please pray for this family.

Chris Bird is graduating from UTC... He would be a great coach.,and anyone would be lucky to have him.

Matt Keller Matt Sweeten Patrick Simpson etc...... and I think Charlie Ritchey from ER has to be in there.. Great wrestler... Who right now is in Iraq fighting for our country.

I think most of the refs did a good job. Chattanooga refs seem to be the best. I saw some I had never seen before, and hope to never see again!!

I have been watching Houston wrestle for 3-4 years and he hasn't changed a bit. Who ever said he was generally a good kid, must be talking about somewhere else other than the mat, because all I have ever seen was bad behavior from him AND his mother!!! His brother, Chonci is the only one with any class. He, his mother, coach, and the rest of them should be banned from any further TN wrestling. WE DON'T NEED THAT!!!!!! This year's call may have been questionable, but last year, there was no doubt! When Mat Bird was left unconcious, I would venture to say it was a slam!!!!!

Saturday at the UTC match, they took up money to help his family with the medical cost and collected nearly $1,300. Another testimony of how close the wrestling community can be. (and generous) I know Pez personally and he is a sweetheart. Keep him in your prayers.

I know this is an old post, but I just saw it, so in case you're still interested, the other guys in that weight were Bo Watson / Baylor who won the state that year, Brad Ingle from Red Bank. You're right, it was one of the toughest weight classes I'v ever seen in a single year. (and Ron is my brother, so thank you for your comments.)

What 4 years did Kevin win Central?? The people at Central must not have known it cause they made a big deal of Mat winning it.
