Well I can say that I have been impressed by West Carroll's victory over Huntingdon and even the losses against South Gibson and Dresden. When you compare the competition (Gleason, South Fulton, Greenfield and Gibson County) we have each played, we both have had the same results although it did take us the second try to beat the Bulldogs. We scrapped the Tony Franklin spread offense in the offseason to go back to our offense of old days: the I formation. We have some good size up front and have two backs with completely different looks coming out of the tailback position: one with speed and one with muscle. I like to call them thunder and lightning. Lightning scored three times last week including a fumble return on defense. We moved one of our bigger linemen from last year to fullback and he is currently playing his best ball of the season. We don't throw it much but we have a guy out there that I would put up against just about anybody in the area. He is a hoss when he gets it in his hands. Our QB is pretty deceptible and earns his share of rushing yards too. On defense we are suseptible to the pass but do a pretty good job against the run. I would agree though with Swo that we have our issues with stopping anything out of the ordinary in the opponent's backfield. We had no clue against Union City's veer, but most teams struggle against it. Our biggest issue with them is the name on the jersey. Nothing against West Carroll as is probably the same for you, but I don't see that being a problem with our guys tomorrow night. I was quite confident of a win last week at Gleason; made my only prediction of the year concerning Halls. This week is a toss-up but our kids (our TOWN) are all fired up and ready so just about anything is possible. Look forward to it tomorrow! Good luck to both squads and pray for no injuries.

Well I'm stoked to a) make the playoffs and still be around after the first round. Our D has to be better in Atwood than in Gleason. The matchup against the Dogs was in our favor and I was a homer this past week in picking us to win. I need to do some more research on West Carroll other than what I already know such as the wins against Huntingdon and McKenzie. One thing that duck mentioned in another thread, we have confidence now and are playing with heart (and I can contest that is a BIG change for us). The "name" Union City or Trenton or Humboldt scares the begezus out of our kids before we ever get in the bus...taking a bunch of beatings to them over the years will do that to your psyche. Not knowing much about WC could be a big plus for us as stupid as that sounds.

I haven't picked a game all year, but I'm going homer here to say the Tigers win the rematch. We never recovered from the two fumbles in the first quarter last time. Wrong team favored...take the points and the Tigers. Lol

I don't understand it either; just another problem with this format.

I wish I could figure out this whole playoff thing. Do the top two from the A side get seeds or is it just the top two overall? If its the latter I think we r gong to Gleason. If the former than we will host Who knows!

Hey coach, Jon was probably as excited as anybody last night as time ticked down. I'm proud of the guys for getting back to the playoffs! Thanks to everyone for the congrats. Several big plays last night. The 33 yard field goal into the wind, faking the extra point to go up 11 instead of 10. LC fumbled the second half kickoff. The falcons came out in the wildcat in the 3rd much like they had done against south Fulton. We did a good job stopping it and forced them to start throwing. Biggest thing was after LC scored and the onside kick was short we milked the last 5:45 of the game with our O on the field. We never put a receiver on the file that possession and LC wasn't able to stop us with 11 in the box. Proud of the guys. This place is going to erupt if we are home next week; oddly enough it has been 22 (TWENTY TWO) years since we hosted. That's just way too long for us not to host a playoff game. Glad we made good on our last year in A ball (stupid tssaa).
