  1. FRA 2 LC 0 WITH 14 MINUTES LEFT IN GAME
  2. The Tennessean Friday, December 3, 2004 | Middle Tennessee High School Sports -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Garman, Vooys win All-America honors in soccer JESSICA HOPP Staff Writer Two Midstate players were named All-Americans yesterday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Franklin Road Academy senior Kristin Garman made the team as a defender, and Hendersonville High School graduate Xander Vooys was given the same honor for his performance as a forward for the Commandos. Each player was one of 75 total selections. Garman was one of just eight defenders to be selected for the honor. She was also the only female player from Tennessee to be named an All-American. She will play for Florida State in the fall. In her four years at FRA, Garman played in the state title game three times and was a member of two state championship teams. As a forward her freshman and sophomore years, she tallied 56 goals and 27 assists. In the last two years as the Panthers' starting sweeper she led a defense that allowed just 28 goals, while her team scored 197. She was named to the all-state team each of her four years, and was the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association Class A/AA State Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004. ''She warrants a level beyond all-state,'' FRA Coach Ken McDonald said. ''We are all excited for her. She has obviously done a great job representing our program.''
  3. Good luck to the OWLS, my alma mater, class of '79!
  4. It is my understanding that it is High School Coaches.
  5. I think these rankings have a lot to do with strengh of schedule. Having seen all of the District 11 teams (FRA, CPA, Hume-Fogg, David Lipscomb, Goodpasture-all currently ranked) play, and having also seen CAK play, those teams ranked above CAK deserve to be. They are stronger teams in my opinion. The sad thing is that the "true" best teams don't always make it to state, only two out of each Region. I think the same may apply to the USJ vs. AC game. I was told that AC totally dominated the game and it should have been lopsided the other way. Apparently, the voters in this ranking felt that to be true.
  6. Yes, for CCS that would be great, play all games at their HOME field, RIGHT! It looks like to me with Nashville being a more "central" location for all of Tennessee and having three or four major college progams in that city that have fields that do drain when it rains, that it would be much better for the entire state to play the state tournament in Nashville. The fields this year for the state tournament are less than adequate! Not only is CCS's field a mushy mess on the fans side, Finley has dead sod on half of the field.
  7. CPA is Christ Presbyterian Academy. They are from District 11, Region 6, out of Middle Tennessee. CPA is from the same District as the past two A-AA State Champions, Donelson Christian Academy (DCA) and Franklin Road Academy (FRA). CPA is currently ranked 4th in the State.
  8. FRA wins 8-0 over Davidson Academy. Good luck to FRA in State!
  9. I get most of my infomation from soccerinfo.com, scores and ranking on High School Soccer. According to that information, USJ played Westview in August and won 8-0. Typically, a team will not overcome a score like that in two months. Also, USJ has played a stronger schedule and that only makes a team better. But, if Westview does win, that is great. I just gave my answer to the question that was asked. Best of luck to both teams.
  10. CPA, BUT COULD BE CLOSE!
  11. In soccer, I do not feel that a regulation size field, with a good surface, gives much of an advantage. Now, if the field is short, narrow or has a bad surface, it can totally serve as a plus to the home team. CCS has a very nice field and I think lost in the state tourney there last year. Another solution, would be at least play A/AA at GPS and Division II at CCS. What I don't understand, is why is it in Chattanooga? It would seem that Nashville would be a better choice for the entire state. Vanderbilt, Belmont, David Lipscomb, and Trevecca, to name a few, have incredible fields.
  12. LEO2007- 1. I am not making excuses for Hendersonville, just stating facts. 2. I am not from Hendersonville, or Sumner County, just a soccer fan. 3. Nothing that I said was a lie. 4. The only thing that you said that is correct is the score, Beech 1, Hendersonville 0. Good luck to both Middle Tennessee teams! thumb
  13. Beech did win on what should have been called offside. There were two Beech girls in the offside position when the ball was sent into the box. The refferee was in no position to make the call. Hendersonville totally dominated the entire game and just could not put one in the back of the net.
