I probably was at the game ... yea ... but hey you sure did catch me on that one ... I'm not too worried about the student section for the Goodpasture game and the rest of the playoffs if we advance cause I know we'll bring out a huge crowd from now on. Hey we should have had a huge crowd from the beginning of the playoffs but there is nothing we can do now is there ... Goodpasture-Lipscomb is always a great game. How has Patrick Turner been doing so far in the playoffs? And do ya'll think Lipscomb will be able to shut him down like they pretty much did last time? It's extremely hard to totally shut him down cause he's such a good athlete. But I think Lipscomb can limit his receptions to short gains instead of the huge long gains he has the ability to get.

Yea I wouldn't worry too much about DL's fans. First 2 games were blowouts pretty much ... and it is hard to be really enthusiastic when your team is beating them that bad, but nevertheless you should be behind your team at all times. But do you seriously think that we wouldn't bring out a HUGE crowd for the Lipscomb-Goodpasture game? If any of ya'll went to the game in the regular season at Goodpasture, you know we had an awesome cheering section, and this is the playoffs. So we'll be back, no worries. And if Lipscomb does pull out a victory, the coaches will definitely get them ready for Alcoa.

Here is the 1st Half Summary [U]1st Quarter[/u] 38 Yard Run by Burton Elrod --- 7-0 Mustangs 7 Yard Run by Elrod --- 14-0 Mustangs 3 Yard Run by Wilkerson --- 20-0 Mustangs (XP Attempt Failed) 17 Yard Run by Rogers --- 27-0 Mustangs 2nd Quarter East Robertson TD Run --- 27-6 (XP Attempt Failed) Mustangs After scoring ER unexpectedly onside kicked and got the ball back. They had to punt though and DL got it back. This led to a few big runs by Jamie Wilkerson ending in a TD. 16 Yard by Wilkerson --- 33-6 (XP Attempt Failed) Mustangs There ya have it ... don't quote me on the accuracy of the runs because they could be off a bit ... if you would like to listen to the 2nd Half of the game tune in to 1160 AM I believe ... shouldn't be much of a game though.

It's now about 2 min. to go in the 1st quarter and Lipscomb is up 27-0 with an Austin Rogers 20 yard run ... I won't post again till halftime unless East Robertson starts doing something ... this is getting out of hand.

It's 1st quarter and Lipscomb is already up 20-0 ... Wilkerson has at least 1 TD run and Burton Elrod I believe ran it about 40 yards or so for a Mustang TD on the 3rd or 4th play of the game. Looks like the high hopes of the East Robertson fans are fading away ...

I've seen Tyler Smith play twice. The first time was in the State Championship 2 years ago , and he played very hard and really good. The second time was last winter in an invitational tournament in Huntsville, Alabama. It seemed to me that he only started to play hard when he suddenly realized his team was down. Most of the game he sat on the perimeter and hoisted up threes .. yea he made some of them but come on the kid is an athlete .. why not drive the lane or hang out down low and use your size? Has he developed his game more? And does he actually play hard all the time now? Or does no one else see that he doesn't choose to play hard all the time?

First of all, all Robinson was good for was to stand around and take up space. All you had to do was get in his head and he was done. Renfroe was by far their best player. Hobson is really good yes, but I don't think he has enough help behind him to go very far ... especially with DL, MLK, and Greenbrier.

I heard Lipscomb Girls won the state ... and the Lipscomb guys placed 3rd in the state ... I'm pretty sure that is right, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Despite the fumbles by DL ... they still managed to win by 20 or so. I wouldn't worry about the fumbles though ... McCadams will make sure that doesn't happen again Monday afternoon ... It was a great game w/ a some really nice runs by Wilkerson and Hillin had some big catches. Rogers did run a bit, and also caught a bomb from Elrod.

Halie Proffitt is one of the best. She has not only the speed, but the footwork that goes along with it. You have to admit that the lipscomb-cpa game was definitely impressive. Lyndsey Almon is overrated. She has enough decent skills to get her by, but it's her teammates that make her look good.

i know that DL won 40-6 , i believe they scored all their points in the 1st half ... does anyone have any stats on this game?

Does anyone have stats on this game? I'm pretty sure the final was 10-0. Does anyone know how many strikeouts Rhodes had and how Lipscomb got all those runs?

2-1 Lenoir City in 12 innings. Rhodes with 22 K's.

The Lipscomb girls lost today 2-1 to Lenoir in 12 innings. Rhodes for Lipscomb had a fairly solid 22 K's if I'm not mistaken. However they still lost. Look for the girls to bounce back in their game tomorrow. Rhodes has what now? 41 K's in their first two tournament games? Not bad eh ... all they need now is more offensive production.

BLOWOUT ... I think Bland got the W for this game. Jr. Jason Brock also threw 2 innings , maybe more.

David Lipscomb has some new players making huge contributions: Lindsey Haislip - 2nd base/shortstop, good bunter, plays excellent defense. jr this year didn't get to play last year because of a fractured back Chelsey Piper - centerfielder, still in the eighth grade, lightening fast, good hitter Libby Manning - didn't play last year, jr this year, plays catcher/third/short, swings a big stick, went yatzee several times as a freshman on the team

i predict that the Lipscomb Lady Mustangs will make it again to the state tournament this year. They have the best pitcher in the state and are hitting the ball better than last year's team.

Lipscomb won ... don't know the score though.

I heard that some MBA players on the baseball team got sent home from Orlando, FL this past week and I think kicked off? What happened and were they actually kicked off or just suspended? Maybe this all is just a rumor ...

after watching the state championships, A doesn't even come close to competing with AA.

Lipscomb is the team to beat this year. They are extremely good w/ sophomore pitchers Merry, Baumgartner, and Wilkerson (all pitched last year). They also got another sophomore who hopefully will be able to play ... Pack. Jason Brock will definitely be a huge factor in the region. He's 6'5" and throws gas. He'll probably be throwing in JV games until he is eligible. Lipscomb has had a few scrimmages the past week or so and has won them w/out contest.

Brown sounds good ... but you can't forget Brandon Wright of BA ... isn't he also a sophomore? If so ... I think he gets that honor ... congrats to McMinn beating Portland though, hope ya'll go far.

What about the McDonald's All-American game? I think we will really see how he'll be in college after that game. If he gets dominated by the other top high schoolers ... how is he going to handle going up against the top college players in the NCAA? We can only wait and see ...

I don't know the slighest thing about Fulton but I'm going to have to go with MLK on this one. They are so talented. If Johnny Lee is on you won't stop him. Heck, no one can truly stop him even if he isn't on. But MLK hasn't worked as hard as they have to lose in the 1st round. It will be a good game regardless. I look for MLK to run their signature stall game the 1st half and take it to Fulton the 2nd half. What does everyone else think? Can Fulton handle MLK? As I said I don't know the slightest thing about them but they have to be good so ...

#25 McDaniel (s?) is a threat at times. He can drive and if you don't stop him he'll take it all the way and score it. He also can shoot 3's pretty good (but I'm wondering if that's only in Portland?). They have another guy on there team who is a fairly good shooter ... #34 Rodriguez I believe. Adams is quick but can't shoot all that well ... that pretty much does it except for Brewer. We all know what he can do ...
