  1. What is your point "GoBama"? Halie Proffitt had an opportunity to make herself standout in AAA with Franklin HS. She left and went to DL. Whatever. She has had a good season with DL, but who have they played? What has Lyndsey Almon got to do with Halie Proffitt? She came into her freshman season with FRA after a hip fracture and still helped FRA make it to State ALONG with her teammates. FRA has many GREAT players, Kristin Garman , Ashley Price, Jenny Phillips as well as so many others. It is hard to stand out on such a talented team. If there has been any recognition it is because Lyndsey will work relentlessly WITH her team in BIG games to make a difference, but she has been playing hurt as of late. It is hard to look your best when playing hurt. Some players, (and some coaches), are about one player. I can assure you, Lyndsey is all about TEAM! What are the "pot shots" really about? Your remark is uncalled for. Last time I looked, soccer teams consist of 11 players on the field. I don't think one player can do it alone. PLEASE! Support whoever you please, but do it without tearing down someone else!
  2. www.soccerinfo.com. This site tracks Tennessee high school soccer. If you , general term, have questions about the stength of a team, strength of schedule, etc. this is a great site to look at.
  3. Hands down best defensive player in A/AA as well as AAA and DII. Kristin Garman, Senior, FRA. Best!!! One of the best mid-fielders and best forwards when she plays those positions as well. Thanks Kristin.
  4. Honorable statement Atuck. There's nothing wrong with good competition and a "healthy" rivalry between two teams. Makes the games worth watching. Good luck to CPA's basketball team in the State Tourny.
  5. Then what's your grip. In reading the comments you refer to, I haven't seen anything than appears that offensive. You should keep the personal attacks to yourself. Go support your team like a good fan and let the ones playing take care of the rest. Personal attacks on a public forum, especially when not justified are not nice.
  6. Stay, I agree. Atuck, you are making yourself look worse than you are trying to make Mullins look. Your attacks are pretty juvenile. Settle it by your performance on the field and let that do the talking for the both of you.
  7. I don't know if the Coaches care, but the players do. All other sports receive some sort of All "Something" recognition. No mention of anything here in the middle Tn. area. At least Williamson county had an All Wmson Co. team. Some of the girl's had outstanding seasons. It's a shame no one seems to care.
  8. Any team with the kind of history, tradition and success that Maryville has had has nothing but my admiration. They have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. What a great season and great run! Good luck next year. Great job Rebels! Had fun following your season on Coacht. Congratulations MoWest.
  9. Sounds like my nephew Andrew had a good game. Way to go Maryville. Missed last years state finals, expect to see this years. Keep it up Maryville!
  10. Is the reply option on the Girl's Soccer board already shut down for non-plus members?
  11. mlbird33, Congratulations on the win. First, the FRA team has no control over the behavior of the student body anymore than your team does it's student body. But the team does control it's own behavior on the field. You get the point. To laugh at the misfortune of a team or player is...well, bad sportsmanship at least. It would not be tolerated by the FRA coach under any circumstances. The student body's behavior was repremanded after that game and I believe it hasn't happened again. Acting lessons, come on. It is hard to stay on your feet when being tripped or pushed from behind. Worth taking the chance though considering the speed and skills of the players tripped. The same refs that called the other suspect calls, called those too. Both teams had great seasons. DCA won the prize. Let's leave it there.
  12. Congrats to the FRA Cross Country team on a great win!

    MVPs

No MVPs were named, at least not in AAA or A/AA.
  14. A/AA USJ could barely stay on the field with DCA 4-0, and FRA 3-0 when they came to Nashville. Both teams beat them top to bottom. No disrespect just facts. FRA has played DCA 4 times and beat them 3 out of 4 times but it has been a royal battle each time. Haven't seen CCS but looking at the w-l records, these 3 teams look pretty equal. Any one of these teams could walk away with the prize. AAA Oak Ridge Div.II ??? Don't discount PJPII.
  15. Franklin wins this one. Overall, Oak Ridge. But of course, that is why we play the game.
  16. Go to www.soccerinfo.com. You can find out most anything about schedules, records, rankings of any TN team.
  17. Hey Flash, go to www.soccerinfo.com. You should find anything you want to know about teams across Tn. including rankings for A/AA, AAA and Div. II.
  18. Look up the stength of their schedule and the competition they have faced so far. You'll figure it out. Hendersonville has far more talent and should have little trouble with DC.
  19. Dickson County plays a physical game, that's about it. They had very little soccer skill, at least in the game I saw. If Hendersonville can play with this type of team (and I'm sure they can), Hendersonville wins it. Hopefully the refs will keep the rough play under control.
  20. I know very little about her team. St. Agnes is in Memphis I am pretty sure and I honestly haven't heard. I know a few girls and parents associated with the "89" ODP state team. At regional camp the girls kept talking about this phenomenal goalie at camp. She was called up to the regional team after camp. Later we found out she made the national team.
  21. Kelly Dyer, St. Agnes, Freshman. Keeper, made National ODP this year.
  22. My point was simply that there are alot of schools that have no club team players on their high school team or maybe only one. Especially areas that have no local travel club. To answer your question about Sara Dennis, I know of her mainly through the Olympic Development program for Tennessee. She made the regional team from TN. She may have made the national team as well. It is rare that a player from TN makes regional teams and most especially national teams but that is hopefully getting better as TN teams get better. I think she plays for Germantown which has had a pretty successful program over the years. But a good team can be beat any day if the circumstances are right.
  23. Stay, I am sure they are talented players. I don't think there was any "diss" intended. Of course, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", or in this case a best player recognition. That can be subjective depending on the "beholder". I am sure you are correct that if they have made it to state finals many times on their club teams they must have helped your team alot and are great players. They have obviously impressed you and it is certainly a compliment to recognize them in this thread.
  24. pobr, I agree. There is a huge difference in the talent level of premiere players vs high school. The average person observing high school soccer might be impressed with a player's speed, their physical presence or how hard they can kick the ball down the field. Anyone can knock someone down and take possession of the ball, but that is for rugby or football, not true soccer. There is a big difference in being aggressive on the ball and a brute on the field. Seldom do you come across a player with true talent, field vision, foot skills, speed, tactical knowledge, instincts and accuracy in one package. A high school team is lucky to have one such player on a team, though most don't. The best players can usually be found on the best premiere teams across the state as well as recogniton and participation with state olympic development programs, regional and even national teams. Sara Dennis, as you mentioned, is certainly one. Of course there are still many good high school players across the state that make a real difference in the success of their teams and should certainly be recognized by their peers for their efforts.
