  1. Franklin won. The final score was Franklin 2 - Brentwood 1. Don't know any of the details of the game except the score.
  2. A/AA FRA eliminated Goodpasture 3-1. Bye.
  3. Pope John Paul. Located in Hendersonville or Gallatin. They have been making quite a stir around the middle tn area. This is either their 1st or 2nd season. It is a new school.
  4. Our high school team just finished their second district game at 9pm. We Won! It will probably be tomorrow. Fun talking and good luck with your daughter and her travel quest.
  5. Actually, she was curious as well. She and her husband, also from the area, has done much for club soccer in the Nashville area. They have also coached softball and basketball, but soccer has always been their passion. They also made it the passion of many girls in this area over the years. I would love to tell you, but as you well know, this is a public forum. She reads Coach-T all the time and I am sure if she is interested in telling, she will.
  6. PrincessBee, no she lives in Brentwood just outside of Nashville. But her family still lives there and she visits several times a month. Her family is well known in the area.
  7. My daughter's coach is from Carthage. I just spoke with her and she said there isn't a local travel club in your area. Unfortunately travel team practices can involve extensive travel. We hear all the time about kids that have to travel 50-100miles several times a week to participate in travel when there isn't a club close. The closest club we could locate would be in Donelson or Cookville. Does your daughter have anyone on her high school team that plays travel? That might be a good source of information.
  8. Beginning travel at 16 could be alittle difficult but I'm sure there is a team or club that could offer something. Does she play any other position besides goalie? Probably the best thing to do is to contact several clubs in your area and speak to the club director. Most clubs have several teams in each age bracket that might be appropriate for your daughter's experience and skill level. She will probably have to try out but travel experience is invaluable in improving a player's skills and of course will help her be a more valuable player to her high school team. What area generally do you live in? My daughter has traveled for almost 6 years now. I am familiar with most middle tn soccer clubs.
  9. Queenbee, what specifically do you want to know? Middle Tn has several great soccer clubs, Harpeth Futbol Club, Brentwood Soccer Club, TNFC , Hendersonville, Quest to mention a few. Are you interested in a particular age group? Specific teams?
  10. Franklin Road Academy without a doubt and Donelson Christian from middle Tn.
  11. Heartbreaking. Germany dominated. Just so sad for all the greats that won't see another world cup.
  12. Kristin Garman, FRA. Plays smart, amazing skills, hugh playmaker wherever she is on the field. A great young lady as well as a complete team player and leader.
  13. Kelly Dyer is honestly the most technically skilled and nationally recognized by being choosen by the national team for ODP. I have heard that she is phenomenal (sp?) She is likely the best literally. But Laura Matthews is certainly one of the best in state for High School soccer!
  14. No doubt, the very best!!!! Laura Matthews, senior keeper from FRA.
  15. Kristin Garman of Franklin Road Academy! Simply amazing talent at offense or defense.
  16. Great job Mustangs! Sounds like they had a great tournament.
  17. The game will be at FRA tonight at 7pm. From Columbia, I-65N toward Nashville. Exit at Harding and turn Left. Turn left at the light onto Franklin Rd. School is just up the road to your left. The field is behind the school. Turn right after you pull into the school drive and drive behind the school.
  18. Sorry you had such a bad experience MNewballer21, but the FRA that we are referring to is Franklin Road Academy in Nashville. I don't think Ooltewah is even on their schedule.
  19. Why is it so difficult to understand that a serious soccer player would change schools for the sole purpose of being coached by one of the best coaches in the state? Sorry to say that the "couple of parents" referred to just don't possess as much influence as you give them credit for. I suppose they are also paying the tuitions of the referenced "club players". As boring as it is there is just no such recruiting conpiracy, just kids who possess big goals hoping a great coach can help them achieve them. :justwrestle:
  20. Coach McDonald is a class act. I'm not sure what the comment about recruiting is about. There is no need to recruit when his reputation proceeds him. He has taken the soccer program at FRA and developed it into one of the finest in the state. A quality program supported by the school for both girls and boys and his fine coaching, experience as a former college coach and charactor are what would make his program attractive to serious atheletes.
  21. Does anyone know the results of the U-14 finals against Diadora and TNFC?
  22. NO! Too much conflict for multiply sport players.
  23. U-13 Real Madrid out of Brentwood U-14 TNFC Strikers U-14 HFC Lady Hurricanes Probably the best in their age brackets for Nashville and the immediate surrounding area. Strikers are out of Franklin.
  24. Always a tough question. My 14 year-old daughter has traveled since beginning at U-9 level at 8 1/2. I think you have to look at each child individually. Do they understand the committment? Are they able to handle the competitive level of travel, not only against other teams but also within their own team? Most important for us was having a coach that understood that children this young need social time as well as enough time to explore other sports experiences. Development of each individual player should be a priority not only with skills but their attitude and enthusiasm for the sport. Burn-out is common when these priorities are forgotten. My daughter has played travel softball, AAU basketball as well as travel soccer. She also is in the state pool for the ODP program in TN. She does not feel that she would possess the skill level she has if she had not started competitive soccer at an early age. But again, each child is different. And the coach can make a kid or break them at this age.
  25. Both boys and girls teams for David Lipscomb beat White House in 5A.
