I was at the state tournament and saw her play in every game. I would not goes as far as certain people to say that I am not impressed. She is a good player and has signed with TN Tech. I do think that TTU will have a problem with her. Hopefully she will fall into place at college and not think she is Miss Everything at Tech. If she does, she will get splinters in her butt from riding the pine. In the Cahmpionship game vs. Jackson Co. she played like she was the only person on her team. She wouldn't pass the ball to wide open posts or cutting guards in the paint. Instead she pulled up between half-court and the 3-point line and bricked all her 3's. She had double-figure points at the half, but she didn't do what a college-bound player should. Now, you can tell me she is the star and was trying to do too much because she wanted to win so badly, but none of the matters. If you are going to be selfish like that in a game as big as the state championship, you could at least make it worth it by bringing home gold. She disappointed me by the way she played so selfishly and disrespected her other 4 'fabs'. There are others on the team besides her. Fuqua, Farrell, DeSantis, Bellamy, all those other girls, I give you a huge pat on the back for putting up with a player like that all season. They did make it to the State and you could say that it was because of Cavin, but everyone knows that it is because of those other girls that Cavin has her Miss Basketball nomination. I give Westview credit for being a great TEAM but I turn my back on Cavin for playing so selfishly.

Wayne Co. boys have played well most of the season. Summertown surprised EVERYONE but themselves in the District tournament. They beat Santa Fe boys (#2 in District 12-A) by 28 points! Then they beat the #1 single-A team in the whole state in the championship!!! No one expected that to happen. Wayne Co. keeps it close in all their games. There is no telling who will win this one folks! If I HAD to bet, I would take Summertown because of how they have been playing of late... Good luck to all....

I think that the game plan was a little out-dated but it worked to some extent. I was at that ballgame and CC pressured the ball at the start of the game when they began to stall, but soon fell back to a 2-3. If the game plan works........do it. I personally do not think that holding the ball like that is 'playing'. I think both teams should play the way they played all season and may the best team win. A shot clock may be a good idea now. I was researching on CoachT and saw that Richland has won 3 or 4 games this season where the score was 2-0. I thought they may have been typo's but as far as I know they were correct scores. I think that things will change because of the outcome of games like these this season.

Was that 21 blocks in 1 game???? Did she just stay on one end of the floor? Just kidding. Wow! That is incredible!! Way to go girl!

I think Wayne Co. will win. Not by too much because Summertown is always prepared in the tournaments. Wayne Co. had a close game the other night, and I think they will come out ready. I heard that Rachel Meek tore her ACL in the ballgame last night. That is sad because she is a good player. I have a feeling she will get through it quick and come back strong. Much luck to all in the tournaments....

Happy Birthday Amy and Amanda! Ya'll are both great girls! Keep up the good work! Go Lady Cats! I heard Amy signed with Motlow, and Amanda turned down her scholarships because she didn't want to play college ball....I am not for sure on that though.

I don't understand why people are saying that Summertown had an 'off-night' vs. Frank Hughes on Tuesday. I have seen many posts that have talked about them not shooting well, etc. They shot as well as they normally do. They are not a great outside shooting team. They have 2 or 3 big girls that hold it down inside for them and that is their game. I think all those that continue to make excuses for Summertown about the score vs. Frank Hughes needs to wake up! You are only taking away from the Lady Lions how good they played against what was thought to be a better team. Just because Summertown didn't blow FHS out by 25 or 30, all the Eagles fans say that they had an off-night. No, FHS just played good. Flat out, they played good. No off-night to it. They proved themselves to be equal in District 12-A. Good luck to all those going to Region.

It doesn't matter who anyone plays and who will be laughing THEN...... now is now...... Look at the scoreboard. If Collinwood, or any team for that matter, is going to say they will beat someone, or in this case.....LAUGH at them, they need to be able to back it up on the ball floor. It doesn't look like Colliwood can do that. Frank Hughes 47 Collinwood 36 Laugh all you want. It makes people want to make you look like an idiot.

I remember seeing him (Brooks Majors) play at Warren Co. junior high school and he dominated! Does anyone have any information on him? Is he playing on the Freshman squad or varsity? In my opinion, this kid should be a Miss Basketball contender. She is not only a great, smart player, she is a good kid. I am not sure if she has signed with anyone yet, but colleges are missing out if they don't get the Beaver twins. Whomever is smart enough to pick them up will most definitely not be disappointed. Keep it up 'Duke', congrats on your 1,000 point, see you at the District Tourney......

Personally, I do not think that the ballteams hate the cheerleaders as a whole. It is personal differences that spill over to ballgames and things like that. Usually, neither (the ballteams or the cheerleaders) make efforts to clean up the relationship. Of course, both parties say they do try, but truthfully neither do. It is just a fact of life and basketball......... Besides......girls will be girls if you know what I mean.

Are there any teams for 16 or 17 year old girls around Jackson or as far as Nashville? I have many kids that want to play.

I saw Sade play at many summer camps and a Blue Chip Shoot Out held at Vandy this summer. I have seen her play with or against most of my AAU players also. She is, no doubt, a good player. BUT...... she is lazy on defense and all she can do on that end of the floor IS block a shot. She is cocky and conceited, mouths at the referees and especially at the other players, she does not know when to keep her mouth shut. I saw how she treated her coaches at all of these events and if she were my player, her butt would have splinters the size of Texas from riding the bench because of her attitude. She doesn't involve teammates and is a very disrespectful child. I only hope that there is someone out there that can straighten her out in college.
