  1. sdfan1234, im waiting for the day you actually post something intelligent. until that miraculous day, I will continue to bash all of your senseless posts, hopefully with the help of other members. it really surprises me that i was the first to jump on you for this one, krenzel is usually "johnny on the spot" when it comes to correcting your stupidity. granted, you have good intentions but your ideas usually come across as irrelevant. on a lighter note, is farraguts running back playing as well as he did last season? we dont really hear too much about knoxville football, unless you answer to the name of corey booker
  2. soddy played horrible. but we still won. so go us. trojans for life. woohoo. from maggie dell
  3. obviously reliefman doesnt know what he's gotten himself into
  4. #17 is Gary Orr a junior and #3 is Chad Boron a sophomore... Gary is the backup qb for the Varsity, yes, but hasnt seen the field much as of yet
  5. sdfan, you think you could tone it down a little? i know you have good intentions but lately you've been coming across as a bit annoying. if you would just read two posts before yours, you would seee that nineinch had already corrected the people who thought this thread was about south doyle.
  6. get real knight...the steelers and porter should be banished from the nfl? im sure you're just kidding but come on..
  7. maryvillerebels, you are a man among boys(and girls) on this thread. i completely agree with all you have said and i would just like to thank ichscheerleader for reigniting this subject. im still standing firm in what i said earlier, which maryville reiterated. id ont have really anything else to say...i think you covered it all
  8. blowe is the only player on hixson to really speak of. he had no real supporting cast on sat at finley and i cant see him doing much more against baylor than he did against mccallie without some help. hopefully, for hixson's sake, other players step up to give will players he can count on. i dont think it will be as big of a blowout this week, baylor 35 hixson 21
  9. sorry about that post earlier in the thread...my stepbrother was using my name to speak his mind i guess. anyways, soddy needs to start the season off on a good note by doing well in the jamboree. how do you guys think they'll fare against a barber-less cleveland??
  10. i dont even think the game will come down to better coaching...it wont be close enough. ooltewah is way too powerful for the lions. and bigred, if red bank is gonna be so good this year, why are you banking on brainerd to get worse?? i dont know if they could get any worse after not winning a game last season. im not saying red bank wont be good this year, they'll definitely be an improvement from last year, but they dont have what it takes to handle a 5a power like ooltewah
  11. i think ooltewah will win by a touchdown or two. so i hear red bank is getting better...is ooltewah still gonna be a powerhouse after losing foster and company last year? my bet is yes but i was wondering if any ooltewah fans had the inside track. im sure the running back(i forget his name) will do damage but does he have other skill players and lineman to compliment him? it promises to be a pretty good game, good luck to both
  12. that was a big misunderstanding on my part along with some grammatical errors. after re-reading csense's posts i understand what he was trying to say. when i said"so what if they dont go 10-0"...i meant so as a transition word. so, what if they dont go 10-0. it was a mistake and i apologize for butting in. it seems i may be out of my league so ill try to post more carefully. again, sorry fellas and consider me part of your so called love fest
  13. im gettin pretty tired of csense telling soddy daisy to prove him wrong and go 10-0 or 9-1. what is it to you?? i really dont think they care in the least whether they prove you wrong or not. so what if they dont go 10-0?? you gonna get on here and bash high school athletes because they didnt do as good as some fans hoped they would?? sure you say your a fan of soddy daisy, as am i, but if your using coacht to motivate the players of soddy daisy, its really a lost cause...not many players get on here(at least from what ive seen) and talk trash and what not. hopefuly they'll do well this year and also best of luck to wiliam blount, that game will be a good one
  14. coffee may very well do some damage this year but dont be surprised if they dont, especially if your basing it on this scrimmage. but i guess if your team's not very good, you look for hope in any place possible. good luck this year anyways
  15. ive tried to stay unbiased in this whole thread but my patience has run out... maryvillerebels was absolutely right in every aspect of that post. it bothers me now that after he makes that connection, cheerleaders get on here to toot their own horns, saying how hard it is and how hurt they get, trying to convince people that cheerleading is a sport. i can understand you defending it b/c you want people to think its a sport; id do the same thing if someone tried to say football wasnt a sport, for whatever reason. im sure the competitions are tough, but cheerleaders training doesnt rival the other sports in the school. you could say, "well, they're girls, and strenuous exercise could be tougher on them." tell that to the girl's basketball players and the softball players whose REAL sports demand way, way more than cheerleading has ever imagined. no doubt the competitons and tumbling and stuff is hard, but cheerleading as a whole is nothing compared to the other sports in high school.
  16. well if you count touchdowns and what not, i think cookeville won the first 20 min quarter and soddy won the 2nd it was a pretty organized scrimmage for having to move it indoors
  17. if you're into rap, lil john and the eastside boyz are pretty hardcore and good pump up music
  18. cheerleaders dont really go through anything "troublesome" to gget ready for friday night, as far as ive seen. sure they may practice yelling and getting in their stunts and what not, but the rest of the time spent is on the signs and stuff for the game on friday. i love all the things that cheerleaders do for the team, but you cant say they prepare that hard for games when it involves spending a couple hours drawing. im not going back on what i said before, cheerleading could be considered a sport when they compete, but the friday night stuff doesnt even come close to representing a sport. on friday nights, they are just crowd pleasers who LEAD CHEERS for their team and pretty much nothing else
  19. i hope the field is ready. right now it looks like an unused parking lot with grass coming up through the cracks. this may be due to the rain we've had b/c ive heard sprigging needs a lot of sun and then it will start shooting up. we've yet to see any "shooting up" of the grass which kinda worries me
  20. mustangsgurl, of course you say your squad is one big family, no one wants to talk trash about their own team or squad or whatever. these people are just stating what theyve seen before on their cheerleading squadrons. anyways, you guys have certainly hit the nail on the head and i cant really think of much to add except that i agree with the opinion that cheerleading is not a sport and could POSSIBLY be considered one when they compete but even their competitions are overrated. i went to a few last year and they werent too great. sometimes they even go to competitions and theres only one team in their division so theyve already won before they even get there. how is that competing? i know all competitions arent like that but it just adds to my doubts about it being a sport
  21. soddy daisy has the best cheerleading squad, hands down. i mean, they did win nationals this year!
  22. actually i think that thompson was listed in the paper under top prospects as well as in tennessee's magazine. dont quote me on that but im pretty sure he was listed.
  23. i would also like to meet you b/c you've got to be one huge mofo to be hang cleaning 310. do you know how outrageous that sounds? are you a division 1 college prospect at all? or are you just like the rest of the red bank lions on here who believe that hitting the weights all of a sudden is a key to the "buried treasure" in football? weight lifting is a big part of football, yet its only a PART. any average guy can say he can hang clean 310(well maybe not average) but does that mean you know the game of football too and are a good athlete? i think not and i hope, for your sake, that you do know the game and are blessed with some athleticism b/c if all you can do is hang clean 310...you might end up looking like an idiot on the gridiron by the way, i dont care how much you hang clean, no lion will be bringing down sd189, the don of all running backs, on aug. 28
