  1. wes hodges is really good i think it said in the paper that he was hitting in the .500's. he is a really really special athlete
  2. i think ill be surprised if farragut becomes a team to beat in this region...i also dont believe ooltewah will be out of the picture so easily either. oak ridge will be great again and, im telling you, dont overlook heritage. ill definitely make it a point to my team to not look past them...people are letting the past dictate what they think about heritage. i dont go there and im not saying they'll be a team to beat, but i do think they have upset capabilities. this region will be tough b/c of the many close to equal teams with a few hardcore ones thrown in there
  3. give me a break ooltewah...quit your crying i know this post is a few days late but i cant look at this without speaking up. you guys are a bunch of babies, trying to blame the loss,or even a goal, on the soddy coach for changing the game time? grow up...things happen and GOOD teams find a way to win which leads me to believe that ooltewah is not all their fans make them out to be besides, what made you think you could contain the #1 goal scorer in the area rigbt now? ill shut up now and you should too
  4. does red bank only base their season on beating soddy? you got 'red bank fever" b/c you beat soddy?? so should rhea county now have "rhea county fever" b/c they beat you? give me a break go back to the softball board
  5. i agree coachdg heritage is not as bad as they seem...they played soddy down to the wire last year and are supposedly returning a whole lot of players. i believe they should not be categorized as an "easy win" as they may have been in years passed. this region promises to have many good games and is one of, if not the toughest in 5-a football
  6. this may be a few weeks old, but i was just reading through these and the comment about booker being too small to play d-1 got my attention. that guy is really fast and runs hard and despite being small, his legs are tree trunks and his arms arent exactly small either. ive played against him the last three years and he would get my vote as most likely to go d-1 out of all the rb's ive played against, even that davenport guy. size does matter but not if youve got the skills to make up for it. ever heard of a guy named quentin griffin? running back at okla that stands at a towering 5'7-5'8...i could be wrong but this small guy did do a bit of damage in the big 12. good luck to corey this year and i hope he proves me right on this one.
  7. surely they wont go 1-9 again but if they do...the best 1-9 team in the state? i dont think theres an award for the battle of the bottom
  8. what is it with you guys reserving a thread for "hawgs"? i think it'll be ok to be a little more openminded and let other people voice their opinions. and dfan, you were doing so well until you made that lame comment towards the red bank guy just tone it down a little i think this thing has great intentions and is very positive but dont ruin it
  9. paul campbell of soddy daisy is the real deal...in fact , he's the don of all running backs. i agree paul and winton will do a fine job next year
  10. what i meant by sign them up for the nfl was that you are placing too much emphasis on weight lifting. yes its a huge huge part of football but gaining forty pounds in a max isnt gonna make you a great team, especially if its just the lineman and they are just now starting to max in the high 200s. leave the athleticism to the backs? did i not sya you have a bunch of good athletes on the the team but not enough to make you a state contender as some have claimed. no doubt red bank will be better, with more experience and what not, than last year...but it shouldnt be too hard to get better after a season like that
  11. rhsbaseball if your really that bothered by people dogging your abilities then why do you get on here? theres always gonna be some naysayers and you'll have to live with that. i just think you shouldnt get yourself so worked up about posts on a website. sorry i have no clue who you are but i just figured i throw a bit into this thread but good luck anyways
  12. hoosiers is definitely the best all time but what about the tv movie A Season on the Brink? i thought it was pretty good for being an espn tv movie

baseball those are some strong statements...take a lesson from hotsauce and take things a bit slower.
  14. wow a forty pound jump in maxes?? sign these guys up for the nfl!! get real, that will help out but if you are strong and arent very athletic, you'll just look goofy out there. i know for a fact that you guys have some great athletes, but i dont believe next year will be your year...especially if your basing a season on some guys jumps in maxes
  15. as far as best player goes, uri sonnoffobiche(i think thats how you spell his name) is a great addition to soddy's soccer squadron. i think he is an exchange student from russia and, as far as i know, he rivals any player in the chattanooga area. his footspeed, ballhandling, and strong leg make for a deadly equation. other than that, i believe soddy has a potent offense, lead by uri and nic coulter, and a strong defense. look for them to make some noise this year
  16. yeah the lady trojans should be a force as always this year, although did they lose in coffee county to east ridge? i know you cant win them all and the 3rd or fourth pitcher was probably on the "hill" but was that an unusual loss and should it be worried about? just wondering...if you ask me i say no they are a bunch of hard working girls that will get the job done once more under a great coach

  18. this weasel guy(or girl) needs to get a grip. anybody knows that all the players on soddy's team live in soddy...that would explain why soddy is a PUBLIC school. i go to soddy and have nothing but respect for the softball players but you need to know when to open your eyes and realize indian was looking at the big picture and didnt want to tarnish anyone's reputation or credibility. thats the stuff you keep behind closed doors. on a lighter note, i watched the girls this weekend at coffe county and it was pretty cool. i never really realized how different baseball and softball were and im sure the lady trojans will be in contention for state again this year thanks to coach kirk and many good players. 19. ha red bank contending for the state title next year? never gonna happen unless they have begun theyre own little recruiting program...in fact i distinctly remeber a thread a few months ago about how red bank WONT BE GOOD next year but maybe in years to come. it was said that their problem was that no one wanted to work out except some "good old boys" that lived in the weightroom. and besides who do they have thats gonna lead them to the state championship? im still thinking and i can think of no studs or even a core of good players that even have the potential to make red bank run the table...good effort though
  20. very good taraleehater i totally agree one team that could have the potential to knock off ooltewah is soddy daisy. rumor has it theyve been working hard this offseason and will be raring to go come opening day or whatever its called now. i played soccer once as a boy so i am no expert...just relaying a bit of info.
  21. way to be the "bigger person" davinci who really cares if this drifts from high school sports to college? we have a thread started about a college player yet you say stop talking about it b/c its a high school sports site. sorry if this post was off topic but i was just wondering whats wrong in drifting from high school to college on these posts...obviously coacht hasnt objected yet
  22. yeah white and flanagan were sooooo much better than riggs yet theyre going to UTC...hmmmmmm that doesnt really add up. sure his last name didnt hurt him but i played against the two backs, riggs and flanagan, and(not saying im an expert)but riggs was definitely better overall to me. he has great vision and is really fast and just a great overall athlete. flanagan is certainly not a wash either, i think he was really good and ran harder than riggs but lacked in the other playmaking areas. i know your from ooltewah defend and its understandable that you want to give props to an alum of ooltewah but i think you need to be realistic.
  23. i wasnt really hating on him i just think he's a little old lookin to still be cheering on a high school team...but thats me. anyways bluedevilfan i dont really think you can even say that was a good outing for us...we have certainly had better games both on the floor and in the stands
  24. for goodness sake cant you people take a hint that this is something that needs to stay inside the friendly confines of soddy daisy high school? so many people are saying come on tell what happened..and no one really knows so drop it. and atch you of all people being a player should know where to draw the line and i think your not speaking too well of yourself by pushing this any further
  25. so you guys werent kidding when you said your student section was the old school ballers. i swear #23 up there probably should have a cane or be on medicare or something b/c he looked pretty old. i mean, come on, he was losing his hair. anyways i wasnt too fond of the game ooltewah did well i guess but it wasnt too fun, maybe b/c we lost but nice effort by the trojans at least keepin it close
