  1. There is alot on the line Friday night. If Moore County can win they will knock M.P.T. out it's 5 straight region title. This would tie the record set by Moore County from 95-99. Also, last year Moore County beat Mount Pleasant which ended their unbeaten streak in the region. In 1997 Mt. Pleasant ended Lynchburg's streak in the region. It's been 9 years since the baby blue won the DRVC. Good luck Raiders. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  2. I never thougth I would see the day when CA hosted Moore County for homecoming. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Good luck to both teams.
  3. How did the baby blue look in that scrimmage?
  4. Keep the laughs coming! Mount Plesant greatness, chop licking on the new "Coach Mac". . Most didn't fare too well against the old Mac. Last time I checked MP has to catch Moore County's greatness. MC holds the region record for 5 straight DRVC titles and won the region 8 out of 9 times in the 90's with two Clinic Bowl trips. Good luck to the new coach and players.
  5. I stand correct. If you want to talk about basketball go over to that board. If you are reffering to your post about more money goes into the football program thant does education your highly mistaken. Everyone has this myth that J.D. dumps money into the program and it's workers call the shots on hiring and firing coaches. Well again your wrong. If this was the case a coach would have been hired months ago. There is nothing wrong with having your own views but at least be truthful and know what your talking about.
  6. You know very little about Moore County football, It's always funny that outsiders know more than anyone else.
  7. Sorry, not a parent nor a coach, just a fan of Moore County. Outsiders always seem to know more about the county and its players than the fans and supporters do. I can only imagine what was said about the program in it's hay day before Coach t opened up.
  8. It might be easier than you think.
  9. I couldn't have said it any better. I could fill this page up with stories about Coach Mccurry but I don't have all night. If you say Mac had nothing to do with building Moore County up your not very educated on Moore County football. Finally, any coach who uses the lack of talent or athletic players as a reason for not winning is a loser. To me that;s the worst excuse any person can use in high school football.
  10. Well like everyone else I am in shock! It's true, the job is Coach Flatts to walk away from. They way I hear it the community really got behind the idea at the meeting. People and business owners are going help get what is needed to build Moore County back up. Coach Mccurry should get some credit though on this, he built Lynchburg to make it where great coaches want to come and be part of it. The burg went through a hard time but many good coaches are seeing the endless possibilty that awaits and their knocking on the door. People may say Lynchburg is down on talent and the people are hard on coaches but if it was true 32 applications wouldn't have been turned in with many being current head coaches leading winning programs. If it works out great, if not their are some good coaches still waiting in line. Coach Flatt is sitting on a goldmine if he takes the job and if he gets the right assistants with him.
  11. I don't know that part. I know that there no postions open for an assisntant yet. All the old staff is still holding teaching postions. I am guessing that will be an issue for any coach who is interviewing for the job.
  12. When I tell you people I saw a Rooster take a pinch of snuff, you better look under his wing for the can!
  13. I talked to Mac myself today. And yes Flatt was in Lynchburg, that is all I have heard today from the people in town. The A.D. talked to him at the school. Request have been made to update the stadium and other parts. Everything else is already agreed on from what I am hearing. I am wondering with these two coaches being in town if it rained on someone's parade. Who said the Moore County job wasn't worth having.
  14. Yes I know alot, but I don't kiss and tell. Jack has no hand in hiring or firing becasue if they did a Huntland name would not appear. I would tell the man's name but I just don't want to get any hopes too high in case things don't work out.
  15. You don't have to worry about Jack Daniels competing for him, they have someone else in mind. He was in town last week.
  16. I beat it won't take Moore County 11+ years to break the streak like it did those dirtdobers.
  17. He is from out of town and staying at the Lynchburg Inn, if you see him you will recongnize him.
  18. Interviews have started. I saw someone very interesting in Lynchburg this afternoon.
  19. The Athletic Director said he has turned one in, some very close people to Coach Mac say he has talked to the Director of Schools. Personally, I don't see him coming back. What does he really have to gain besides rebuilding Lynchburg again. My guess is the next head coach comes from Franklin County again. Well, good luck on coaching search.
  20. Is he even 5'8? He would be a great player in college. He has enough speed for D1. but he would be an All-American at the ranks of Tennessee Tech, TSU, UT-Martin, etc... I hope he finishes up his carrer well and good luck on the Mr. Football ballot.
  21. I am not from Cascade nor a fan but I can tell you one thing he is a worthy canidate, where is nominated or not is a different question. Normaly you have to go deep in the playoffs or win the region to get any media attention. If you are a Cascade fan I would want one my players to be nominated. The last time I checked Cascade has never had a Mr. Football finalist. I watch alot 1A football and he is the best I have in a couple of years. His coaches speack highly of him as well.
  22. Congratulations to Wayne Co. That wasn't the same Cascade team I say 4 weeks ago though, but that's why you play the game. I think what hurt Cascade was getting up for the game against Jo Byrns and having to trottle their emotions against a past proven winner like Waynesboro. When Cascade lost #54 last night to a broken leg that really hurt their emotions even more. It looked like he was the leader of the team.I hope the Mr.Football voters don't hold a 9-2 record against him becase Nathan Armstrong deserves that award and at least an All-State selection, just ask Jo Byrns. Good luck next week to all region 6 and 5 teams.
  23. Coach Mcurry probably won't be back. Lynchburg could afford him if they wanted too. He doesn't have any reason to really comeback. Their are only two jobs he might comeback for if they could better his pay and those are neighboring Lynchburg. If he did comeback I will guarantee he would win the state in his first year.
  24. Jo Byrns is very well coached, probably the best I have seen this year. They played mistake free football against Cascade and turned Champion miscues into points. Huntland is athletic enough to stay with them but Jo Bryns has the coaching edge. The QB #7 for Jo Byrns is pretty good and so is #34 the RB, he can slip through holes.
  25. Will be a good game. I will give the edge to Jo Byrns. Mcwen is not bad, their #33 is really good for his age. Mcwen will probably give the Devils a good fight. Devils 28 Warriors 19
