  1. i dont care if you think that team was overrated they were still #4 in the nation so MBA is #1 in TN...... dang baller u dumber than i thought i didnt even say that mba was over rated. i didnt even say who i thought was the best eam in the state. i was also sayin that 4a is the tuoghest division. i was bein sarcastic about the 4a team killin the 5a team.
  2. theres a difference between bein' a good 5A school and being a godd 2A school......... davinci22........... i t doesnt matter wat division u r in because i know that the winner of 4a will flat out kill the the 5a winner. (by the way the 4a winner will either be jcm or maryville) last year the 3a state champs (i dont remeber wh they were, but i did attend the game) lloked a heck of a lot better than brentwood or riverdale. so dont say that a smaller school couldnt beat a larger school by the way milan prolly would beat those teams cuz the 5a schools would go into the game all cocky thinkin its a 2a school . then milan would come out fired up and get otu to a big early lead....also tyner would kill milan bc milan doesnt have nebody that could stop bolden. double team triple team him i dont care u wont stop him.
  3. Jcm's Michael Panthofer is one of the best freshmen out there. he is now has a record of 5-1. With an era of 1.45. By the way his only loss was not his fault. jcm made 7 errors. giving up 7 unearned runs. he also through a no-hitter aginst Trenton. two walks away from a perfect game.

    Info on USJ

Yea you are right that josh liles is in the 8th grade, but he is supposed to be in the 9th grade. Iww went to middle school with him and in the seventh grade he tranferred to USJ in the middle of the school year. Anyways USJ thought that they had to move him back a year because he had to catch up with their academic standards. So really he should be a freshmen. I will say this though he is a very good hitter and an excellent catcher with blazing speed
  6. I went to the championship game between those two teams and Oakland dominated them the whole entire game. Brentwood acted as if they hadnt played baseball in years. Oakland also ripped Brentwood's pitchers face all over the field. Oakland's shortstop hit a line drive in the gap that hit the wall in like 3 seconds and probably left a dent in the wall.
  7. Jackson Northside finished the week off at 5-0 with wins over Germantown 11-5, Memphis Christian Brothers 4-1 and 11-8, Kossuth MS 10-0 and Jackson Chrisitan School 9-1.
  8. The Indians have opened up the 2003 season 3-0 with wins over Germantown 11-5 and Christian Brothers 4-1 and 11-8 (coming back from 8-1 deficit after 2 innings).
  9. BD, GREAT POST!! The talent in West Tennessee is there without question and you DO NOT even have to go into Memphis to see it. You can take 9 kids just from the city of Jackson and compete with any program in the state. Take Jackson Northside....they have opened up the season 3-0 with wins over Germantown 11-5 and Christian Brothers 4-1 and 11-8 (came back from 8-1 deficet after 2 innings) plus they beat Germantown's #1 and CBHS #1 and #2 pitchers.
  10. LEVI.....your living in a DREAM World if you think politics have nothing to do with this. All-State teams are purely based on local sports writers who vote on athletes in their markets whose coaches or team scorekeepers keep plugging them with stats on a continual basis. I would think it would be save to say that over half of the sports writers who vote on all-state teams have no clue how good that athlete they vote for actually is and some of these sports writers rarely visit a high school baseball game. They only judge their vote on STATS that are accumalated by their sports departments. Do you think that a college coach cares if a kid made the AAA all-state team? NO! He only looks at that athlete in terms of how he will help his program in the next 4 years. Throw stats out the window, which is what all these all-state teams are purely based on. A D1, D2 or even an NAIA coach looks way beyond the stat sheet!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I agree! Who cares! All-State teams have no merit at all and are politically shifted!! We all could name 15-20 players each year as good as those that are selected for All-State. Again, WHO CARES!!
  12. The following are the 3 best all-around outfielders in Jackson..... Adam Warren, USJ (Senior) Jonathan Taylor, Jackson Northside (Junior) Robert Matlock, Jackson Christian (Senior)
  13. Without question, Terry Odle is by far the BEST assistant baseball coach in West Tennessee (including Memphis).
