  2. I am actually a fan of Idiot Discrimination...
  3. While you have seen in the past few weeks several requests that you sign up for Plus Membership, I come to you asking yet again. While I can't say why, I can say that your plus membership is going to mean so much more VERY soon. NOW is the time to fork out that paultry $12 for a year of this wonderful service that the coach has provided thousands of sports fans across the state. I know from reading the posts that so many are wonderful and helpful people and that's why I want you to get that Plus Membership...it's going to be all about helping those that need and deserve it. That's all I can really say right now, but I am sure there will be press releases fairly soon as to what I am talking about. BUY THOSE PLUS MEMBERSHIPS!!! Not just as a thank you to Coach T for his site, but because it's going to make a difference very soon. EDIT so I can bump this up [Edited by TankTalk on 11-21-02 4:04A]
  4. That is actually Coach T himself...back in his college day when he thought he was going to start one of them boy bands like the Beach Boys.
  5. To add to what ELA eloquently posted...your life can play tricks on you sometimes and make you think there is nothing to live for. I know friends, because I have been there and I am not afraid to admit it. It was a dark time and I felt I had nothing to live for, the job situation was bad...I had went through a nasty marriage and divorce, my father (My adopted father who raised me from the age of 3 as a single dad) had died...I felt I was at the end of my rope. What pulled me out was the love of my child and the gentle voices of long-time friends. It wasn't a pretty time of my life but I am happy to say that time is over and I was able to change my attitude. What it took was a dedication to God and to myself, something I struggle with daily but work at very hard. Many times people, especially those macho "sports lovers" like I thought I was, are too afraid to let their true emotions and feelings be known. They think they are considered "weak" if they shed a tear or tell someone they love them. That's foolish. To make what could be a chapter or two short, I am always here if anyone needs an ear. You can call me at my office (At least my office for now, hehe) at 615-754-6111, or email me at [email protected] God bless everyone and especially those involved with this tragic situation.
  6. And once again on this board, we all pause....and realize that while we love the game of football...and we love high school sports in general...it is...and they are just games. This hurts and my prayers are with his family. Anytime someone cheats others by taking their own life, it's a sad event.
  7. I am telling you, we have got to get some contact information for Sundrop. We need to find who does their media buying...can you imagine the TV spots. "Grab a Drop...Coach T drinks it!"
  8. I really wish I could see this game as well and hope the best for coach Webb, his staff and all the young men in Tigerville. I have made some comments this week, tongue-in-cheek, trying to get these young men fired up because I know so many of them. I hope they play their best game of the season, because in all honesty, it will take quite an effort to beat a solid Sweetwater team. Rockwood has the talent...I just hope they cutdown on the mistakes and play four quarters. Good luck Tigers!
  9. I am old school, but I also know how hard it is to fund a program. I think watching football in the rain is FUN and I remember a Tennessee Auburn game with water running down the aisles like Niagara Falls...what a good time, but in high school...maybe best to play in Saturday. With the schools just making a paultry 25% AFTER expenses, it's probably best to try and get good weather involved. Sad it's like that...but it is.
  10. Softball, I have MANY friends from Oliver Springs and a little known fact, my real father (who I have just recently been reuinted with) Is on the Oliver Springs City Council...or Alderman, or whatever they call it there, lol. Anyway, thanks for the kind words and I have always enjoyed the people from Oliver Springs I have met.
  11. Yes OSHS, and this will be last attempt to even understand your huge brain-power, I have no idea about sports or research. Your knowledge is so much better than any sportswriter that comes to these boards and from now on, your insight shall be universally known as the gospel...please...garner a life and go outside and enjoy it. If you get too wrapped up by trying to "outdo" others, things will eat at you and drive you crazy...wait, are we too late? But post away, I have things to attend to and won't rain on your pathetic parade any further.
  12. Great, now Noah can begin his brainwashing and addiction of high school athletics with dad at home tonight!!!
  13. Good question, I am going to be at home tonight watching my little Noah, while his mother is working. So let us know where to surf for some Tennessee games.
  14. Trust me, it has been my mission for more than 10 years to try and get the TSSAA to answer questions about their polices, (while the weather thing isn't about the TSSAA)....and I have given up. Unless something big happens, I won't talk negative about them, because it's obvious that schools and their administrators don't care about getting the shaft from this elitist organization. Like I told one of their members...if they just ACTED like they had heart...the people who have the guts to question them, would slack off. There...final slam. [Edited by TankTalk on 11-15-02 2:51P]
  15. I wish I was coming... Not going to be able to, however, the clothes drive I did here in the newspaper was a MONSTER...and Mr. Goode is driving in with a U-haul of things taken up here in Mt. Juliet and Wilson County. I will be coming the next weekend with a secondary load of diapers...and some non-perishable canned foods I am gathering. I am very upset I am too poor to make it in, but will be there in spirit...I am looking foward to CoachT.com to see how the game plays out.
  16. Heck OS91, that was a good post...but my post questioned his actual knowledge of football and his maturity level. If he were in second grade, I could totally agree with your post...but he is out of high school...he likes to post messeges like he knows everything...so I will continue counter-posting when he does his antics. It's nothing personal, mostly because I am bored silly here at work and his posts are a form of entertainment for me. They amuse me and I get rather giddy when I see him posting on any particular subject.

    RULES QUESTION

Beats me swamp, Goose told me Baldridge (Bob from TSSAA) told him flat out, the game could be played earlier, but not later. Then I get an email from a TSSAA official that says there was some misinformation on our posting...but when asked if the game could have been played later, I was told..that if that would have happened, every county that had tornado damage would have to given that choice...which I though "Well..that would show heart, why not." But that's all I got...so basically, I have no idea.
  18. Perhaps you are right OS91, but it's easy to quote a few stats you have looked up, or even pick who will win a high school game once and again. As long as he has this "I am better than you," attitude, he will never gain respect on here and I would venture to bet, in RL. Many times, a person's real life attitude is easy to pick-up by the words they spew online and I am quite sure, this guy would be about as fun to hang out with as a proctologist who refuses to wash his hands. But, that's just an opinion...hehe. [Edited by TankTalk on 11-15-02 10:31A]
  19. Now who said Coach T was functioning properly?
  20. Hmmm, I think I am going to give Brian a good mark...first time I have ever done that for a post that was negative....but oh so deserved.
  21. Well he loves the Sundrop...rumor has it, he has extra pockets sewn to his jeans so he can carry extra ones around with him.
  22. After waiting a long time, I finally was able to meet the man behind the monster that is CoachT.com. Was over at Murphy Center tonight and Coach T was in attendance...I knew him because of his Sundrop!!
  23. See, posts and information like this one prove it! Rockwood...don't even show up at Sweetwater Friday night.
  24. Look, everyone is entitled to their opinion on this hot issue. But to just say we should turn our back and let the drug problem in high school continue, I just can't swallow that. Whether it be drug testing, followed by intense and useful counseling, or it be much better drug awareness programs...something HAS to be done. Touchy subject, and one I argued on the "hey, we are Americans and have rights" side, but now I think it's time to stop turning a blind eye to our problems because that doesn't help them get better.
