  1. This is the first I have heard concerning this situation. I do not know details nor do I care to. However, as one of her coaching peers, I have the utmost respect for her and have enjoyed coaching against her the last few years. She has represented Rhea County with class and has put great teams on the field. I wish you the best Britt, it shouldn't be too hard to find a system that will appreciate you for your abilities on the diamond. God Bless, friend.
  2. Indian, I don't know you either but I have always been impressed by your comments regarding softball. You are a true fan of this great game. It should always be about the kids.
  3. Your lies are really sad. I never said any such thing. It is scary that you are so sick in the head. Everyone sees it but you. Most people would respect someone that is making a decision to be there for their family. My wife does and that is all that matters. You just keep going because I have called you on your false accusations. Keep living your life through others high school softball careers. True fans are in the business of cheering on their teams not trashing opponents. If you want to dog me, at least bring up things that are true. I argue balls and strikes too much, I am extremely hard on umpires when I think they deserve it, sometimes I push my players too hard, I have a quick fuse, I am short, I am a little overweight, I shave my head, I don't need to hide behind a screen name, I haven't stayed for JV games the last two years (so I can see my kids before they go to bed), etc. Over the last 8 1/2 years at Walker Valley we have built a beautiful facility, have a 211-126 record, won 3 district tournament championships, been district tournament runner-up 3 times, won 1 region championship, been region runner-up twice, won 2 of 3 sectionals, 4th place finish in 2004 State Tournament, 2005 State Runner-up, 5 All State Selections, 4 Best of Preps All Area POY Selections, 2 Best of Prep COY Selections, 13 college signees, 5 TN/GA All Star Selections, 7 consecutive 20+ win seasons, 2- 30+ win seasons, beat Beech, Trinity Christian, Ooltewah and Soddy. Never claimed to have the history of any of the above programs. We have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. All of this in a basketball town without rosters loaded with "A" ball players. I have been blessed to have so many hard working parents & players over the years and they will be missed. Our administration has been very supportive and I thank them as well.
  4. I shook your hand, like you wanted, right after the Soddy Daisy game. I got it! Professor Plum, in the library with a candlestick! You are so sneaky hiding behind a screen name and then shaking my hand like a gentleman. So dang tricky!
  5. Ocoia Middle school doesn't have to play Soddy, Loftis or Ooltewah so you are going to keep coaching them and forget about the family till the spring. I do not know you wilson25. You have made two comments that hold no truth yet you feel your opinion about my family decision is fabricated because of some secret fear to play top notch competition. If you look at our schedules over the last nine years, you would see that we have never stayed away from great competition. I have never scheduled to make us have an impressive record, but to help us prepare for the post season. We played three teams that were at the state tournament last year during our first week of the season this year even though it was our spring break. We have never asked for your respect because it is something that is earned. Our school is nine years old where as Soddy and Ooltewah have had many years to build a reputation. We have made a name for ourselves even though we live in a basketball town and there were already two schools with softball programs when we started. Furthermore, the two schools you mentioned are the two schools in Chattanooga that my family has a history with. I did my student teaching at Ooltewah with Coach Nelson and was her volunteer assistant on her 1997 runner-up team. She and I also coached an 18 under team together. She recommended me for the position at Ocoee. She is one of my closest friends in the coaching community though I have a great relationship with many that I will never forget. As for Soddy, my wife and both of my sister-in-laws played for Coach Kirk. The people at Soddy have always been kind to me especially Clifford. Soddy and Ooltewah both deserve better from a so called fan. I do not dare put myself in the same sentence as both of these great coaches. Walker Valley is what it is today because of great kids and some hard working parents. We have never had the number of "A" ball players as these or other great programs. We have never had the consistency during a season as the great teams. However, we have been to the state tournament twice. We have beat some of the best. We have had some all-area player of the year's. We have had some all state selections and we have sent some kids to college to play. The biggest role I have played at Walker Valley was consistency, love of the game and a desire to see kids play to their best ability. I have been blessed that all three schools have supported me and allowed me to do what I love. I will miss my girls, I will miss the competition and I will miss this special time in my life. To address your final accusation. Middle school season is two months and done. The time away is not as bad and I will not be gone from my family like you are in a high school season. Because I am home everyday in the summer with my kids, continuing the middle school allows me to do something I love without my family making too much of a sacrifice. I would love for you to introduce yourself to me when Ooltewah visits Walker Valley on April 22nd. Hiding behind a screen name to make outlandish accusations is slightly juvenile. I will gladly shake your hand and accept your apology. I don't need your apology or expect you to take responsibility for your actions, but sometimes in life people step up and do what is right. Take it or leave it. The people that know me and know what I have tried to do at Walker Valley and for these kids are all that matters.
  6. It has nothing to do with Ooltewah or Soddy moving into the district. It has to do with family.
  7. Walker Valley defeated Columbia Academy and Brentwood while tying Briarcrest in pool play. They went on to defeat Siegel, Independence, Brentwood and Ooltewah to win the championship. Way to go Lady Mustangs! Allie Morrow hit a HR and Kayla Sewell hit a game winning Grand Slam vs. Brentwood to send Walker Valley to the Championship game. Sidney Hooper was the winning pitcher in the 6-0 victory vs. Ooltewah.
  8. Rhea played a good game tonight. The center fielder for Rhea was the difference maker tonight. Two excellent catches. Both Freshmen pitchers did a great job, especially with the inconsistent strike zone.
  9. Walker Valley has played Meigs in a scrimmage and Grace, Baylor and GPS this first week of the season. Grace had the best pitching and Baylor had the best hitters. From what I have seen of those 4 it would go Baylor, Grace, GPS and then Meigs. I know that Grace beat Baylor but they looked solid in the 10-0 butt kicking they gave the Lady Mustangs. Pretty sure things will shake out differently as the season progresses. Good reason to play the whole season rather than getting too excited about the first week as most teams are still building an identity.
  10. In the loss to Grace, Walker Valley did not start their 4 basketball players who just returned from the State Tournament. They played Tuesday and helped lead the Lady Mustangs to a 15-6 victory over McMinn. Walker Valley is also without its senior pitcher.
  11. Anyone from Loudon know what is going on. Last year we were well informed. Haven't heard anything this year.
  12. Has there been any info put out about the Brentwood Tournament?
  13. Has there been any info put out about the Loudon JV Tournament?
  14. Sarah Goza, catcher for Walker Valley, will sign with Cleveland State on Monday. She will be joining fellow classmate Courtney Gobble, shortstop, who signed to play softball and basketball at TN Wesleyan. Congrats to both of these fine ladies.
  15. Game will be played Sunday at 3pm Central time.
  16. Good luck to Soddy. Hope Walker Valley joins you next week. WV at Siegal 2pm Eastern Saturday.
  17. grounder to the shortstop
  18. Walker Valley 4-0 over Ooltewah.
  19. Walker Valley defeated Cleveland 1-0 in the first game courtesy of a Sarah Goza HR. The if game went to Walker Valley as well by a score of 6-0. The Lady Mustangs will host Ooltewah at 6pm Monday and Cleveland will play at Soddy at 7pm. Rhea County did a great job hosting the tournament and trying to accomodate all of the teams around proms and the weather.
  20. WV fought through the losers bracket and defeated Bradley 7-0, Rhea 3-2 and McMinn 14-0. However, the championship game was rained out this morning in Rhea County and Cleveland couldn't play any other time today because of their prom. Hopefully, the championship will be decided at 3 and 5 Sunday with the winner hosting Ooltewah and the loser going to Soddy Lake.
  21. Cleveland came from behind again in the 7th to upset McMinn 4-2. They were the 5th seed and are now going to region. WV plays Rhea in the loser's bracket semi and the winner plays McMinn in the loser bracket final with the winner needing to beat Cleveland twice. Should be interesting with all 3 having the ability to come from behind and win the whole thing. Cleveland is definitely on a mission at the right time.
  22. They have a classy coach, solid pitching and several hitters. Best of luck to my friends at Sweetwater.
