  1. Plays TE as well, not the whole game though, at least the games I've seen. Don't know how regularly he does for sure.
  2. It sure would be nice if he did. It's always too early too tell with recruiting, especially at this time for juniors, because he'll be hearing it from every end of the spectrum, it will be interesting to see how the negative recruiting of TN pans out now. All indications before was that he was leaning that way, but theres over a year til LOI day 2010
  3. Which Oakland fan was it that doubted that Jacques Smith was the best junior in the state and/or wasn't hearing anything from big time schools. Well that's false, he's got interest from Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Wake Forest, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Oregon, UCLA, along with a host of others. Hardly a scrub.
  4. Minus the slang internet terms (which you can't really say whether those are spelled right/wrong) there isn't anything misspelled in her post. It is grammatically incorrect, because when isn't a verb, but it is spelled correct.
  5. Ooltewah doesn't play in Regoin 5-3A, they play in Region 2-5a, get it right.
  6. Wait a minute, I thought this was about the families? Now it's about money? Make up your mind.
  7. I don't see how they are getting so shafted, they still get to play for a state championship, that's what it's about. Not the size of the crowd or the time they are playing, or that they have to miss school, because the kids certainly aren't worried about how many days they have to miss.
  8. You don't want to "pound" Ooltewah's D, that is playing to their strength on D. To beat them you have to toss it all over the field and try to spread everything out. Pounding it up the middle is just asking for Ooltewah to stuff you.
  9. What do you mean what does that say for the rest of them? He may very well be the best in the region, but who's to say that this region is supposed to send all of their qb's to college every year, I can't think of too many that actually have gone in recent years, and that's at every position. Yes there have been a few, but not as many as you seem to think should be produced. I'm not a huge fan of either elite region 2 qb's as college prospects (I like Parrot a lot more than Farragut's QB) even though the general consensus by a lot of people that Farragut's qb is one of the best in the state, I just didn't see it. That is MY opinion, I'm sorry if it doesn't line up exactly with yours.
  10. Haha ImaOwl definitely knows what he's talking about, and he played college ball as well so I'd trust him. Just because you get a ton of yards and td's doesn't mean you are a college quarterback. He has the size that's for sure, but I agree with Ima, he doesn't have the zip you see in most college quarterbacks. Also depends on where you seeing him play in college, yes there are some schools he could easily go to, but not the ones Soddy fans seem to think. That being said, kid still had a great year.
  11. Owls take it 2-0, safety by #36 in the 1st quarter.

  13. You are so hypocritical with all of your arguments it is just dumb. You talk about a rivalry game for Nebraska with Colorado (which that shouldn't even matter b/c it's Colorado) and then you dog on Michigan b/c they only had 43 yards rushing against Ohio State which is a much, much (add however many much's you need b/c it is the biggest rivalry in sports) bigger rivalry game than that. Then you go on to say it is no big deal playing WSU with Leaf because he was crap in the NFL, and you list Peerless Price for UT's "loaded" team who also didn't do crap in the NFL, why the double standard? Personally it doesn't matter to me what a player has done in the NFL, a great college player is a great college player, and they both were. Michigan may have squeaked a couple games, as did Nebraska, but at least they did win one of those squeakers on a play that shouldn't have counted.
  14. Comparing Woodson and Gamble is absolutely ridiculous, besides the fact that the played offense, defense, and special teams, there aren't many similarities because Woodson had a much more profound impact on his team and was THE difference maker in them winning a NC or being a mediocre team. Woodson was UM's Peyton Manning that year (he even pulled his best Manning impression on a 30 yard pass, that was stopped a half yard shy of him adding a passing TD to his stats that year), as in he was who carried the team. Here's his reel from his heisman season, it shows everything he did and why it had an such an impact: Most fans down here argue until they are numb in the face about Peyton vs. Woodson, yet most of them when it comes down to it, didn't even actually watch a game that he played in his college career (outside of sportscenter highlights). This play right here singlehandedly would win the heisman for anyone, and comparing Gamble to Woodson is an insult to Charles.
  15. Again ignorance with regards to Woodson. His rookie year he was the Defensive Rookie of the Year (with the likes of your 3 that are "better" than him) and then went on to three straight All-Pro seasons (Surtain only has 2, Rolle one) and then battled injuries for the next few years and hardly saw the field for any consistent amount of time. Then 2006 he finally gets healthy again, and guess what, he leads the NFL in interceptions. He is easily the best of the 3 other cb's you mentioned in that draft.
  16. I know, that is what I was referring to, it is located in the south on the map, but it is not a "southern" area. The accents coming out of Miami are completely that of the north. All those people going down that way to retire and what not.
  17. You are clearly ignorant on the part of Michigan and their 1/2 championship in saying Nebraska was clearly better. That couldn't be further from the truth. They needed an illegal play to beat Missouri as the clock ran out, and common opponents, they beat Baylor by the about same score while Michigan beat Colorado by 35 instead of just 3 for Nebraska. Michigan played 5 ranked teams while Nebraska played 6, however Michigan played 4 teams ranked in the top 10 at the time they played them, and overall Michigan's schedule was much tougher since their schedule didn't include Akron or Iowa State, Baylor was the easiest team on Michigan's schedule but that is a wash since Nebraska played as well. And who really cares what Ohio States record against the SEC is (0-9, ok I admit seeing that) but Michigan is 20-5-1 against the SEC so your point proves your point. And Miami can hardly be considered in the south besides location of the city/school, that is more northern than Ohio State or Michigan (which are actually in the Midwest, not the North)
  18. If Campbell Co. only has a run game it won't be a close game at all. Ooltewah has hands down the best run defense in the state with that front 7, especially the front 4.
  19. Hey thanks for joining coacht, your first two posts have been real quality posts. *note sarcasm*
  20. How does beating a team with no wins make you for real? That is all.
