  1. Both played and Amauri played alot. According to the box score he had 11 carries for 47 yards. I also noticed he was back deep on every kick off return. I have no idea how healthy he was, but he did LOOK alright and played alot. http://www.unapproved website.com/m/career/default.aspx?careerid=af2ad2b3-c16c-e711-93f8-ecf4bbe7be14
  2. It was 26-0 three minutes into the third quarter and SH immediately went into the mode of periodically resting certain starters. Does that count? Burks played by the way. He didn't LOOK hampered in anyway. Fairly impressive player. Far from the best one on the field Friday night. But there is nothing to be ashamed in that though.
  3. Agreed. Hard to argue with anything you said here. Good luck the rest away. It looks like Giles County is back for a while now.
  4. Wow... Just like I suspected, you did not watch the highlight tape. "He is fast but if there is no hole there he cannot do nothing"? Wow... I thought someone said he doesn't follow his blocks and can't read the field. So, which is it?.. If there isn't a hole all he does is run through tackles or reverse the field. The Giles County back is a good back, for high school, with decent size. But, if he can't have a run of more than 15 yards against a high school defense, along with having a good O-line, then elite he is not. I'm not knocking the kid, at all. I'm just saying what I think is hard to argue.
  5. Did he move or does he still live in Northeast Alabama?
  6. Strut into the endzone? Which of his three touchdowns was it on? Bettet yet, we'll just wait for the highlight tape from lastnight... Meet up again? You understand the bracket and realize that it would now be all but guaranteed to be in Pulaski, right? Just don't mess around and lose to Page so y'all would meet Marshall County in the second round. We know how that one would end up...
  7. Here are the mid season highlights for Smith. Remember this doesn't even include the 250 he put up last night while being well under 100 percent. Get the popcorn too... http://www.hudl.com/video/3/4027421/57e1d989ed57ee3b18ffabeb
  8. I never said that Smith was just fast. Speed isn't even his bet attribute. He is the strongest player on the team and if you want to talk about following blocks and breaking tackles then watch his highlights from this year. Better yet, just ask your fine human being of a head coach, off the record, and see who he'd rather have. It's not like they're running him and wearing him out. He is averaging TEN yards per carry.
  9. The push off that the Giles County wr got away with on their last TD was absolutely laughable.
  10. I'll put it as nice as possible here. #5 is good and bigger than Smith, but if you think they're even in the same class I have to say you/y'all are clueless. Smith was not 100 percent tonight and still had over 250 yards and 3 tds. Two of the td's were over 50 yard runs. That gives him over 1000 for the year through six games. He's also averaging around 10 ypc... All he does is run through and around people and considering he's doing it at under 5'10, 180, or so, I'd say that's pretty incredible. The Giles County back is good and decent size, but not in the same class as Smith. Try again...
  11. So, I was correct. Thanks, for confirming my original point in that the priorities are a just a little off in Giles County/Pulaski. Note: The research was a 5 minute Google search late Saturday night, while watching Alabama lay a huge egg in the middle of Bryant-Denny Stadium. Everyone else in the house was asleep and it was a fairly easy search. Feel free to do it yourself and maybe even correct my findings. Besides, I couldn't care less whether it was the city OR county that paid for it. My main point was a city AND/OR county government raising taxes in order to renovate a high school football stadium for over 2 million dollars. Like I said two days ago. A new, more than adequate stadium, on a new site, could've been built for 1/4 that amount.
  12. Correct, but I did some research. Based on what I found, city AND county funds were used in the renovation/construction? Is this not correct?
  13. Yes, actually. I would love for my community to have something that nice. But, only if my county/city had a surplus of money to make it happen. Going about it the way Giles County did is simply irresponsible. Especially for a county in their condition.
  14. Bingo... All you need to know about how screwed up the priorities are in Giles County is to take a look at the ridiculousness that is the football stadium at Sam Davis Park. The powers that be jammed a 2 million plus stadium down the throats of the county citizens. Then raised taxes to pay for it. Don't get me wrong. The old stadium had to be replaced. But to spend 4-5 times what it would be to construct a functional, new stadium, on a new site, is assinine. They claimed "history" and trying to preserve "The Brickyard" as reasons. Simply ridiculous. The site sits so far down in a "hole" to where it isn't visible unless you are looking for it. Also, the access roads are bad. The pressbox is oversized to where most of it is wasted space, but yet you would think they were hosting dozens of national media and T.V. crews weekly. Just looking at the proportion of it to the home stands tells you all you need to know about how comically big the thing is. Don't get me wrong. It's a nice stadium, but it better be considering the 2.5 million price tag. The county did all of this knowing how bad of a condition some of the existing school buildings are in, and knowing the bad economics the area has struggled with for years. Not to even mention just how poorly the school system rates statewide. So, considering just this one example of irrational decision making, does SOME of the opinions that roll out of the mouths of SOME of the people from Giles County really suprise you? It probably shouldn't...
