After spending some time reading the postings on the softball board, I have come to one glaring conclusion. The only thing that matters in this game is for the girls and coaches to work hard, respect each other and see who is left standing in Memphis (sorry, Southaven MS ) the third week in May. Then the best 4 teams in Tennessee ( sorry again, TN & MS ) will be left standing, holding the trophies. The final outcome does in no way diminish what each and every coach and athlete have accomplished this season. But that's why they keep score !

Father Ryan plays Overton @4:30 Friday, Centennial @ 6:00 Friday and Powell @ 8:00 Sat morning.

Ryan's starting catcher was injured and did not play. For those that understand this game, that is a big adjustment. Secondly, small ball also means running the bases well. BA did a great job of taking advantage of Ryan not having their starting catcher. I am not demeaning the job that the substitute did, merely stating that it was difficult for her & Katherine.

Megan had our hitters fooled all game. She has a great rise and her location was tremendous. Her best weapon, though, is not showing the ball during her delivery. Our girls could not pick up the ball. Congrats to her and Lipscomb.

I think Davidson Academy from Nashville is coming.

I agree with alliegator. There are not too many pitches that Natalie can't take deep. If you watch her at the plate, she is always intense and focused.

Ryan pitched two freshman against East Ridge. That could be some of the difference.

We saw parts of the Baylor games in the Ooltewah tourn. Pitching looks good, not great. Hitting and speed are their strong suits.

Also, have your 1st or 3rd base coach help you. A pitcher will sort of lean backwards during the wind up to make the ball rise. The base coaches might help give you another clue as to when she will throw it.

Think you had better consider Father Ryan in the top 10 at least.

I think it will be GPS and Father Ryan in the finals.

I think St Benedict will be good this year.
