what do i need to do to get my team registered.. I clicked on the link above but did not see anything about the weekend being talked about.

I have a 15 under team...we're local, here in clarksville

Is it to late to get in this tournament?

I heard that there are only 2 teams in this right now. Clarksville Magic and Big Red. Is this true? Where is everybody going? Isn't this the last Sub-State before state? Where did some of the top ranked teams go? Teams like TN. Thunder, S.E. Elite, and Mid-State Ballerz. Also, I would like to know, who has qualified for State already. Any help would be great. A.g

Just my opinion, and I'm sure than I'm not alone, but there is no possible way that is an accurate ranking without S.E Elite on there. They don't have to be in the #1 spot, but for them to not be in the top 5, that doesn't seem right.

can you not post them under this topic. I would also like to know who is in the tournament. It would be alot easier than for me to get a fax. Thanks

The Clarksville Magic 13's are pretty tough. I haven't gotten to see them play but a couple of games this year, but I know they have some studs. If all the players show up to play, they should be able to play with most teams. They are not someone to underestimate.

That's the first time I believe I have ever heard of politics holding a player scoreless. Sounds a little silly to be honest with you. Also I'll have to disagree with what you said about good players not having bad weekends. I've seen good players have bad weeks, it happens. I've seen GREAT shooters have a bad month, players will have slumps. What makes a good player a great player is how they handle the slump. I'm sorry but excuses don't make a good player great regardless of who they come from.

Which age group are you all talking about. The Clarksville Magic 15's played the 16's tonight at Lenoir City and won by 24.

Is it too late to enter this tournament? I have a 15 under team that I want to enter this if possible.

Does anyone have any information on a 17 under team in the Clarksville or Nashville area? I have been asked by some parents who are looking for a team for their kid, and I don't know of any around here. If anyone has any information it would be great.

Firstly, the administration meeting at the beginning of the game has nothing to do with staying in your 4 ft. coaches box. Which doesnt take place at all the games..only the first varsity game of the night, on a regular seasoned game, not in a tourney. In the administration meeting they refer to what to do in case of problems introduce everyone, and make sure the players are properly equipped. If the ref does decide to make a big deal about the coaches box in the Admin. meeting, you know your in for a long long long game... Secondly, I have never seen a t given over something so petty without AT LEAST 2 or 3 warnings about it. If it has it was a rookie ref, and what's a rookie ref doing in a district tournament anyway. Lastly, if you read my post you would have seen that I said it was the rear official. It wasn't his call, what's he doing turned around anyway, he needs to be watching the game, that is his job, right? He shouldn't have been worried about whether or not the coach was in his box. That's the most rediculous thing I've ever heard, well, until i heard it defended. I remember at the beginning of the year before we ever played our first game we had a meeting with TSSAA discussing rule changes. The topic of Tech's are guaranteed to come up. I remember one of the comments made, which may have been by Bernard Childress, was this, "...if they are going to have the guts to call a tech., then they need to have the guts to stand over by the coach, and answer questions if he has them...." If you think some refs, notice i said some, don't come to the game with some kind of attitude, ready to T you up for any little thing your kidding yourself. Their are some out there and there will always be some out there.. I'm sorry but no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to make me believe that the Tech i was talking about was reasonable..

Tonight I saw the craziest T I have ever seen in my life. It was in the first round of the 10AAA girls tournament. 1st quarter with about 2 1/2 min. left to go. The coach steps up to call a play for his girl to run (no more than 2 feet out of the coaches box). All the sudden the rear official, not even looking at him. Turned around blew his whistle and gave the coach a tech for being out of the coaches box. It's very rare you see a tech called for being out of the coaches box as it is. But with no warning. the coach hasn't said a word to the officials all night. I mean dang..the ref wasn't even looking at him when he blew his whistle. It was the most rediculous thing i have ever, EVER seen.

I wouldn't bet on Tyrone playing "like a freshman". I don't think he's played like a freshman since he was in the 7th grade. That may even be pushing it a little bit. Don't expect him to play any other way than he's been playing all year. Not only is he one of the better players in the district, but he's also one of the most consistant.

I was looking in the Tennessean, and the last couple of games McWherter hasn't even been listed as scoring in any of the games. That doesn't sound like her at the beginning of the season she was one of their main scorers. Is she injured? If so how long will she be out for?? Is she supose to be back by tournament time?

Yes, it's true. she is out for 6 weeks. I don't think they will be able to beat Dickson Co. without her, she is a big scorer for them. I hate the fact that happend to her, her senior year though. Northeast will still be pretty strong, but losing her is a tough loss for North East

Who has NW JV beat in the district?

That's probably the most rediculous thing I believe I have ever heard....as already said, dunking is a part of basketball, undercutting is a sissy act by a weaker athlete. I don't even know if i would call them an athlete, an athlete will appreciate a nice dunk, ess. on somebody, regardless of who is dunking it, only because they know what it takes to get it done. You may not like that they are dunking it on your team, team mate, or you, but you'll appreciate the athletic ability. Am I saying let someone dunk on you...Heck naw, what I'm saying is, is that there are better ways to try and stop a dunk then taking someones legs out from under them. besides if you udercut the wrong person, your liable to get embarrassed worse when he gets up and knocks your head off. Can't say I approve of that action, but I can't say I blame him either. Undercutting is dangerous, i've seen a guy's carreer ended because he was undercut, he came down on the back of his neck..Yeah guys, that's what you need to do to stop a dunk...Great advice from all the "whatever it takes" and "expect it to happen".. I hope that none of you are coaches that are saying that, but even more so I hope none of you are players that are saying that.

Where do you get that Tyrone may not score alot...I may be mistaken, but he is their leading scorer..He's avg. 20+ points a game, also avg. in the mid single digits in ast. Which is pretty impressive as a 2 guard. Don't get me wrong, he has some things he needs to work on, he's no where near perfect, but I don't think scoring is one of those things. He can score almost at will it seems like, the times that I've seen him play anyway. But as far as who I think will win the game. I'm going to have to give it to Dickson Co. It's hard for anybody to go Dickson and win, the cougar den has a great basketball atmosphere, enthusiastic fan support. With Dicksons home court advantage, they'll pull out a victory.But I think they will go into the tournament with split wins.

The only new coach Rossview picked up was a new freshman coach.

Clarksville Magic does have some talented teams coming up. Excellent player development teams, and have a few teams that could really do some damage this year.
