  1. Actually, Taylor injured the ACL on her other leg. She wants to get back on the court badly so she will sit out a few games and be fitted in a brace. She could possibly be back in action by the Christmas tournament.
  2. I'm listening to the broadcast now. It's absolutely awesome. Radio quality. Actually, better than some radio signals. Thanks so much for providing this service. Kudos!!
  3. Using the matchups given by ballfan and records given on this site, this would translate to: 1 Mt. Juliet - bye 2 Wilson Central vs. 7 Hendersonville 3 Smyrna vs. 6 LaVergne 4 Beech vs. 5 Gallatin Is this correct?
  4. Thanks, salty!! And thanks to Aaron Thompson who took the pic for The Daily News Journal. The camera shutter was rather timely, wasn't it?!
  5. flngrvy, the last shot came down to Emily Pollock. Chelsea was right there in her face, and with her height advantage it's been debated whether she ever had to leave her feet to block the shot. She got all ball. What an incredible play for the freshman!
  6. Taylor has been a true leader for the Lady Bears. Whether it's knocking down 3 pointers or pulling down rebounds, she's made her presence known all over the court. And "unselfish" is an appropriate description of her play. She has an eye for the open player and has made some incredible assists. She will be missed!! Taylor, here's wishing you a successful recovery. You come from a wonderful family who will support you every step of the way. And there's not a Bear fan anywhere who isn't praying for you. It's been fun watching you this year. You'll be back...
  7. coachgat, regardless of the pros and cons of a coach revealing who he or she is on here, I'm glad I know who you are. Your obvious enthusiasm and love for the game and the kids is evident. For the first time EVER, this Mt. Juliet devotee is following Millington's progress. You have a great season going. Keep up the good work. I look forward to hearing more about the success of your program. Best to ya!
  8. Natalie Novasol was the leading scorer for LexCath. She pumped in 26 pts.
  9. Congratulations to the Rebels!! I, too, watched the game on TV, and GOSH was I impressed. Maryville is the real deal on both sides of the ball. It's obvious this team is cohesive, conditioned and well-coached. One of the announcers pretty much hit it on the head when he said, "They came marching in here like a little army." And they went marching back to East TN with another trophy! Here's my guess: It won't be the last time they march to M'boro!
  10. Here's an exact quote from "Senior High Basketball Regulations" in the 2006-2007 TSSAA Handbook: "Video taping or filming is permitted if the taping or filming is for private use or use by the two schools involved and not for public or commercial use. Video taping or filming must be done from the individual’s seat. Individuals will not be allowed to use tripods. A school taping or filming its own game may use a tripod. A school will not be allowed to tape or film a game unless its team is involved in the game. All taping or filming by a school may be approved by the local Game Director or Tournament Director, and the Tournament Director or Game Director shall assign space, when available, from which the school may tape or film. (Section II, Item C)"
  11. Just got the stats off tennessean.com. Looks like Lexington Catholic took away the inside game of the Bears with Nixon scoring 6, Miller 4 and Gleaves 2. Rebecca Sharp and K.C. Van Atta both contributed 15 each, but it was Taylor Hall's day to shine. She contributed 26! I'm thrilled the Bears hung in there with one of the most storied basketball programs in Kentucky!
  12. Just got a score off a Kentucky prep scoreboard site: Lexington Catholic 79 Mt. Juliet 71 Sounds like it must have been a terrific game. I can't wait to hear the scoop! Way to go, Bears!
  13. Does anyone have a score for the Mt. Juliet - Lexington Catholic game in the Marshall County (KY) Hoop Fest? As of this post, the game should be close to ending. It will be interesting to see how the Lady Bears stack up against the #4 team in the country (USA Today). And for those of you who attended the game, be sure to give us your "take." BTW, Riverdale is also in the Hoop Fest. They're playing Graves Co. (KY) at 11:00 today.
  14. Jordan Nixon and Heather Miller have replaced any fears of the absence of an inside game at MJ. These fine young ladies have stepped up and they're getting the job done. According to the Tennessean, Nixon is averaging 17.8 points (high game of 33!) and Miller is averaging 11.8 (high game of 15). They're playing respectable defence as well. As an MJ fan, I'll be honest. I worried about the post position. After seeing 4 of the first 5 games: NO MORE! Mt. Juliet continues to be the quick, aggressive, cohesive team you've seen in the past.
  15. I noticed on the scoreboard tonight: Wilson Central 53 to be announced 51 I'm assuming the "to be announced" is Memphis Central as posted above. Sounds like an incredibly tight game. Anyone have the details on this one?
