  1. Love everyone sleeping on Fulton who is almost an annual participant at State.
  2. Im guessing Tony coached this squad. We had a brief conversation about it. In the long wrong its better for the 8th grade group as they are going to soon be competing with that age group in summer team camps and most likely JV next year. I guess all programs have a different philosophy about what they are trying to get out of AAU. Personally I wanted to continue help my son get the best coaching possible and continue walking with a lot of my guys that I taught and went to the same middle school together as well as bring some integrity to area AAU. It can get a little dirty in my opinion.
  3. My 17U team played in an 11th grade division in tourney at Rocky Top and competed vs a team from Knoxville that I know had seniors and 18/19 yr old players. One player has signed for football. Doesn't really bother me since my guys start for their varsity teams competing vs teams that have seniors obviously. The integrity of AAU tourneys locally are definitely challenged. However, NCAA certified AAU tourneys have a pretty strict protocol. Guess you have to determine what hill you want to die on.
  4. Memphis predicts this every year, then teams like Harriman and Fulton mess it up for you.
  5. If the vote was to enhance basketball in the state of Tennessee then why wouldn't he vote for that? Outside of the district he is playing all the AAA schools in the area and in holiday tournaments. If they get to the state his teams are competing with the best Memphis, Nashville or Chattanooga have to offer with a lot of success. Don't remember when Fulton ever backed down when faced with a challenge.
  6. Not sure I saw where anyone was hyping Higgins and posting his less than stellar record to this point in his career is weak. He did a heck of a job for Jody at Fulton ( who by the way had an unimpressive record his first few years too) and was left w/ little when he got the job at Central. He has lost some players in his program because they couldn't take care of their business and he isn't going to compromise what he is trying to build there. I have no doubt that he will build on last years success and would be a great hire if any school was looking for a more than qualified coach.
  7. Thx BM. Appreciate your class
  8. Fulton has never lost a semi-final game.
  9. Ripley was in double bonus in 3rd qtr.
  10. Carter beat Fulton in the Reg final by 8, but that was w/o Fulton's best player, Kentel Williams who went down early in the 1st quarter with bad ankle sprain.
  11. In the last ten years, Fulton has gone to state seven times (or 8?) w/ 2 gold balls. Lost in opening round game by one to eventual champion for the 3rd gold ball (Steele's senior year). So yea, if you consider Fulton not going last year a minute I guess your correct.
  12. Seriously? He's getting the West Valley kids who by the way are very talented and adding 2 of NW starters! That's pretty darn good lol.
  13. Probably a mistake for us to speculate on all of this, but one thing is for sure, Jody Wright will be at Fulton, Blevins at Bearden, Hutch at Catholic and Norris at Webb. Does it get any better?
  14. It's my opinion nothing more. I think Higgins will do well at Central and knew he had work to do. They will be better next year. Sorry if I offended
