  1. Mandell is out with a shoulder injury. Expected to return for Shelbyville game. Big hole without him out there on defense.
  2. I have no problem with the pools. I know that is the luck of the draw sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. My problem is allowing the team to forfeit the first two games and then come in and play on fresh legs against a team that has already played three games. I guess AAU is not as strict as I thought it was on those kinds of things. There was a possibility that the team that did not show up and sign in until their third scheduled game could have advanced to the nationals.
  3. I was just curious if any other team had this happen to them. A team did not show up, register or anything for their first two games. They showed up on Saturday afternoon haivng not played a game yet. They played a team who had already played three games in 20 hours and beat them by one point which knocked that team out of advancing to Sunday's game. Have you heard of this happening before?
  4. Anybody know the final score of Cookeville/Sparta soccer match yesterday? I know at one time in the second half it was 7-0.
  5. 17 and under team looking for a 17 or 18 under team to scrimmage possibly this weekend. Anyone interested email me at pitsol@spartaexpositor.com. Also looking for a tournament the weekend of April 16-18.
  6. Our 17 and under team is still looking for another point guard to fill out our roster. The team is based out of the Sparta/Cookeville area. Any interested players, please contact me at pistol@spartaexpositor.com.
  7. Plus when you win the state, they give you a net. You don't get to cut them down yourselves. That is exciting to get to do especially when a third year school makes it for the first time. I, too, could understand not doing it every year but the first time, I understand.
  8. Yes it has. Most recently Jackson County and Upperman played against each other in 2001 and in 1999 Livingston and Jackson County played each other.
  9. Yes, she did get MVP and that is rare. I have to be honest on knowing for sure which year. I have been doing some research lately to get year by year schedules and records compiled to make things easier on me in the long run. I have that information in a notebook for those seasons. I had to double check and make sure.
  10. White County played at Crossville in 1990-91. Ginger Jared was a senior in 1991-92 and at Bradley Central in the substate is where she originally hurt her thigh. That injury was re aggravated in the state championship game when she had to leave but made her dramatic return. White County played at Howard in 1995-96.
  11. 1991-92 White County def Bradley at Bradley in substate 1992-93 White County def. Bradley at Sparta in substate 1993-94 White County def. Bradley at Bradley in substate 1994-95 Bradley def. White County at Bradley in substate
  12. Showtime, leave me out of this. You are most definitely wrong in your assumption of who 85 and 90 Warrior are. I am the sportswriter for the Expositor and try to use this board for information purposes only. Every now and then I post asking for information or clarifying something. I try to limit my comments for those purposes. Please don't try to get me started in this. Your team beat my team bad last night. That is obvious. I have not been on here putting down Shelbyville. In fact, I have never said anything to you on here. The season is over for our girls. Yours will go on. I will say this. No matter the outcome, you will not find anyone who cares more about these kids than I do and that goes way past basketball. Whether they win all their games by 30 or lose them all by 30. I am a fan of the athletes of WCHS. That is what it is all about. I have watched almost all of our players through the years since they started playing training league in White County at age 5 or 6. I follow them on through their college careers and attend the other important events in their life other than basketball. I congratulate you on the success of your team. The play of your team speaks for itself. You don't have to get on here and build them up or disrespect others such as myself. They are a very good team. I, for one will take the girls of my hometown and continue to support them win or lose. Warriorettes, I hope you know how very proud I am of you all. By the way, Showtime, I am not afraid to let anyone know who I am.
  13. Pickett County's Greg Bibb and Cumberland County's Mike Buck and Neil Capps.
  14. Didn't Katie Salmon who is at Cumberland play at Oakland?
  15. I was wondering which former District 7AAA players are currently playing college basketball and where.
  16. I was wondering what former District 7AAA players are currently playing college basketball and at what college?
  17. No problem. Now I see things clearly. If I knew how to delete my post I would since I understand now.
  18. FasterEddiethe 2nd, Are you sure you started for three years when Roy Whited was head coach? There are not a whole lot of players that started for three years under Whited. Kyle Gribble only started as a junior and senior. I can name all the ones who started three years and none of them are currently playing pick up at the "Y".
  19. Could someone please post the score from the Warren County Siegel game?
  20. The preliminary diagnosis is a sprained foot.
  21. Nope. They have lost twice. Once to Oakland, once to Blackman.
  22. White county went 1-1 with Powell in the Thanksgiving Tournament. They won the first game 58-45 but lost the second 69-55. Once again both games were without leading scorer, Kurt Clark. Their back up post was not at the tournament either so the Warriors played the whole tournament with only one post player. When he got in foul trouble, they had to go really small.
  23. White County's freshman beat Loudon twice in Knoxville Catholic Thanksgiving tournament without leading scorer Kurt Clark. They won by 16 and 9.
  24. HamP is right. White County's freshman boys don't need to go to Loudon. Not because Loudon would win but because two of White County's 12 wins were over Loudon. WCHS beat them twice in the Knoxville Catholic thanksgiving tournament (58-42 and 65-54). Oh yeah, did I mention both those wins were without WCHS leading scorer Kurt Clark who was dressing with the varsity that weekend. So no reason to go up there.
  25. I got to see her play both volleyball and basketball. She was a good volleyball player too. I never got to see her play softball but they say she was a heck of a shortstop. I know she sure had some range on her three point shots.
