Ok...quick question...I haven't read all the posts so maybe this one has already been answered, but how come the McMinn fans were yelling "CURTIS" there at the end of the game..I mean when he wasn't even playing? That didn't make much sense to me, so maybe one of you Macminn folks can explain that to me. Oh and a couple observations..concerning the student section, first of all i was disappointed that none of our fans made it up but I hope that yall bring a lot to the nest in a couple weeks, so yall can see how a real spirit section works. haha JK I think that would make the game pretty interesting though. But anyway just a little advice to your fans...if you are gonna make a sign don't write it in pink or orange or whatever color that was, no one could read it so it just looked kinda stupid. And my last comment..is about #3 from McMinn...I think he is the most obnoxious and annoying person I have ever seen in my life! And if we got technical fouls he should have gotten one for the fit he pitched after he fell on his face diving for the ball early on in the game. I must say, though, that he was a little more tame the other night than he was at the Tourney down at Southeast. But he just needs to calm down.

You DB fans really make me want to throw up! Seems to me that Ooltewah isn't being sore losers, but DB is being sore winners. No one ever said that we "won" that game...no one even suggested such a thing. Being a sore loser would be making excuses for why we didn't win or just avoid posting at all so we don't have to see yall rant and rave. But no, our Ooltewah faithful continue to show support for the Owls. And yes, before anyone tells me, I realize that our season is over, but I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with our fans coming on here to show their pride in an excellent football team who made a lot happen this year that no one expected.

Well I know this is kinda delayed...kinda like your post about me...lol but for one I am not a MAN I am a girl, a cheerleader for Ooltewah, like Grad already said. Thanks for the defense, Grad!! Next..rehashing? That was the first post I have made about this game since BEFORE the game! And if I remember correctly the ONLY post I made after the game except for the one I made about your "awesome atmosphere". I also think if you read my post, you will notice that I too was talking about how there are always things that people choose to get bent out of shape about, YOUR TEAM INCLUDED, so yall shouldn't try to use that to take the focus off the close game. Your team/fans were pointing out everything negative on the Owls part, and talking about how classless they were, and I was simply explaining that both teams had their classless moments and both teams had their classy moments. It was a great game..and no doubt I was disappointed that the Owls didn't come away from it with a win. But our guys did awesome, and it just really makes me angry to see people trying to sell our guys short of the credit they deserve for a hard fought game! And it seems to me that DB fans loved talking about anything bad the Ooltewah players did, unsportsmanlike conduct on the DB side wasn't even discussed until your posters mentioned our boys "spitting water," etc. But I'm not gonna get into that again..I made my one post w/ my opinions, and was not planning on posting about it again, until you came back with your rude comment towards me. I was gonna "let it rest" and after defending myself..i will now let it rest!

What atmosphere? The scoreboard shutting off every 5 minutes? Your fans SITTING the entire game? I think I only heard them cheer 3 times, and that would be when yall scored. The band was great...but how many songs did they play? 4? I mean it wasn't bad...but it wasn't anything special! I like the atmosphere at Ooltewah just fine...scoreboard never gives us any trouble, fans are CRAZY and ROWDY..ESPECIALLY in games as close and intense as tonights! And our band...well they are #4 in the nation..haha! And they play SHOUT, enough said there haha!

You said it yourself paintrain..."with the exception of a few, LIKE EVERY TEAM" I am sure there are a few players on our Ooltewah team who have bad tempers and can let their anger get a little outta control, in fact I KNOW we have some players like that...but don't for a second try to say that Ooltewah as a whole has no class. Now I don't know about the spitting water thing or whatever that was..but I am 99.9% sure that Ooltewah coaches were not participating in any of the negative things any Ooltewah players might have been doing. Coach Gatewood has more class than a lot of coaches I have seen..he is fair and he may lose his temper, just as any coach or player does, but he doesn't let it out in the way of unsportsman-like conduct. In fact, I've seen him call out players for things as small as throwing their helmets down. And I know that our guys have enough class not to walk down the other teams sidelines nodding their heads...or push and shove their OWN teammates. Boys WILL be boys...their is always gonna be those few players who let their tempers fly YOUR team included. Our team had just as much class as yours. Personally, I think yall are just upset from the scare we gave you. And don't try to make excuses..like bad calls or what have you, I mean yall won and congrats on the win..but it was a close game and Ooltewah did an AWESOME job and you cannot deny that. I am so proud of our guys for hanging w/ the #1 team in the state...when everyone including some from Ooltewah doubted them! Congrats to the Owls on an AMAZING season!!! I am gonna miss cheering for you guys, the last 4 years have been so much fun...especially this one!!! But don't worry..since I will be up at MT..I will definitely be there to watch you boys win STATE next year!! Good Luck, guys!

Well here is my take on things..if the Owls play how they have the past 2 weeks they might as well forget it! If they show up and play how they were at the beginning of the season, then i wouldn't totally outrule a W for Ooltewah. I know that DB is #1 in the state and undefeated and everything, but Ooltewah is a great team as well..they have just fallen apart the past couple weeks. I know how upset everyone is about the loss this past friday...maybe our guys will use that as a driving force to defeat the Indians, but they are definitely going to have to change their mentality. Have not seen DB play but I know from what I heard that they are awesome..but I have also heard and I repeat HEARD that they tend to lose it in the play-offs. Don't quote me on that though b/c like i said it's just what i heard and we will see what happens. I know that a lot of people are doubting the Owls, and you DB fans are set on just walking all over us..but I am going to be optimistic. I believe Ooltewah is capable of winning this one, now that is not to say that they will, I hope they do though! That would be awesome and a definite boost of confidence for our guys! I'm right with Rogers on the "divine intervention" that's great hahaha! GO OWLS!!!

Hey AWESOME game tonight...a little too close for me though! haha! But the OwLs came out with the win and that's all that matters! But good job to Soddy..they are a great team! CoNgRaTs to the OwLs 8-0

Going by those stats it seems that Oak Ridge has the advantage...although I believe the scores from the Bradley game shouldn't be in there...don't know about the other teams, but I know Gatewood is not one to run up the scoreboard but I am sure Ooltewah could have done so. Anyway..even though OR is probably the likely pick I am going to have to go with the Owls. The Ooltewah-SD game will be decided tomorrow @ the nest...and I for one CANT WAIT!! It should be a great game, but I think the Owls will come out on top by 2..maybe 3 touchdowns. Contrary to previous posts back in page 2 or 3..Ooltewah is not at all a one dimensional team. No doubt Caldwell is amazing..but we also have a great passing game as well...like someone mentioned earlier, it is just something we haven't had to use b/c of the awesome running game. And without Dewayne..there would still be Williams and Hydas, who are also great backs. And of course they have an awesome defense!! So like I said I am gonna pick the Owls to come out on top overall...partly b/c I am an Ooltewah faithful, but also because I honestly believe that Ooltewah can take Soddy and OR. I keep remembering 2 years ago at Oak Ridge...when Ooltewah was supossed to lose to Oak Ridge, but somehow came out on top!! Hopefully we can do it again! GO BIG RED!!!

We don't have that problem! They mark off the spirit section with ropes and no parents dare sit in it b/c it gets so rowdy! I think the REFS @ Ooltewah help to make the student section louder and bigger...having any kind of spirit "group" will do that. About 10 people who take the initiative to lead the crowd from the stands...usually dress differently from everyone else too...if they start cheering everyone else will go right along with it!

Hey and I just want to say that it IS spelled dEwayne haha.. ImaOwl you had me worried when you said it was dwayne b/c I make his candy bags and I have been writing Dewayne this whole time...so I asked him today cause I felt really bad and he said I was spelling it right...and I knew that is how it was spelled on the roster! Great game for the Owls and CONGRATULATIONS to Kristen Kibble the 2004 Homecoming Queen!! YAY FOR KIBBLE : ) And did anyone see Caldwell directing the band after the game haha...He said earlier today that if they won he was going to direct the band to Rocky Top and I thought he was joking...but he did it! It was great!!

Well as of 2:00 today the football team didn't even know all the details. Gatewood met with the team then! So maybe they just haven't had a chance yet...who knows?! This is all just crazy! haha

I'm not really sure?? lol But Mrs. Ireland announced it during 4th period today!

You beat me to it IMAOWL!! haha just wanted to add that the homecoming activities will be held on Monday at the game instead of @ the Soddy game...for now that's the plan... haha

Oh yea that's right! Well I think they have decided to either play it tomorrow or sunday! And they are gonna hold off on homecoming until the soddy game on oct. 15

Yea all the actual homecoming festivities have been changed to the Soddy game which is October 15 (during fall break) and the WB game will be played either tomorrow or sunday...is what i heard too

ehhh..I was gonna comment on that post, but I think we all know that it was just stupid so I will leave it at that! ANYWAY...WHAT ABOUT IVAN?!?! You think the game will be played...or will the rain wreck it? They are saying that we might not even be in school on friday b/c it is supposed to be so bad...flooding and maybe tornadoes and stuff. I know some games are being played on Thursday..but the weather Friday night actually is supposed to be better than on Thursday night, although Friday DAY is supposed to be nasty! I think it'd be cool if we had homecoming on Saturday, but i doubt that will happen and I dont know what the weather is supposed to be like then!

Hey my cheerleading coach went to Knox Central..that was really random though! haha! And the other 2 girls on homecoming are Jessica Menzer and Brittany Lockmiller! Also kinda random...but back on topic...I think the Owls will definitely beat WB! No question about it!!! And I also believe Ooltewah is CAPABLE of beating Oak Ridge and def. Soddy...not saying that they WILL, just that I think they CAN!! No doubt those will be the 2 biggest and most challenging games the Owls will play in the regular season!! GO BIG RED!! WOO WOO!!

And how exactly do you figure Ooltewah is overrated? lol 4-0 that doesn't sound bad to me! Caldwell averaging over 200 yards a game...hey that doesn't sound bad either! I am not saying the Owls will go throughout the regular season undefeated, but I think they are definitely capable! They have the talent and are NOT overrated!

Totally agreed thorough!! I too have no respect for the bucket boys and the other central students causing such trouble last night! They had NO class at all! It is RIDICULOUS for our cheerleaders to be told that they cannot walk anywhere by themselves...that is just insane! And as I was leaving a man stopped me and said "You be careful" I felt unsafe there because of Central's redneck students! And that is just what they are...a buncha rednecks! To make threats like they did is sooo trashy! And I also wanna add that if the guy driving a green yukon or some kinda suv like that is reading this...I don't appreciate you nearly running me over then pointing at me afterward!
