Here is the difference...other than the fact that they are 2 different companies UCA: TRADITIONAL CHEERLEADING...w/ traditional motions (fists, sharp motions), Traditonal stunts that hit sharp and perfect everytime, Traditional cheerleading dances w/ lots of cheerleading motions, traditional cheers w/ signs (example...2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits..) UCA wants everything to be clean and sharp...they will choose perfection over difficulty and a UCA routine is usually kinda slow paced compared to NCA NCA: FLASHY CHEERLEADING...this gets into the theatrics of the sport, the glitter all over, the wild make up, NON TRADITIONAL, the stunts are more difficult and don't hit sharp then cradle...they hit for maybe 1 count then transition to another stunt, the dance is more like actual dance skills, the cheer (if there even is one) is usually done while the music is still on...it's usually only a few lines long and very fast w/ flashy motions (blades) the routines are more fast paced and if you have ever heard of Georgia Allstars that is NCA style...routines usually have a theme such as "toxic" and you feel like you are watching a broadway production w/ stunts and tumbling The key is if you have a 1st place NCA style routine and go to a UCA competition you may not even finish top 5 and definitely not win 1st and vice versa. This is the main reason Ooltewah is contemplating going to State this year which is a UCA sponsored competition!

HAHAHA...I WISH!!! No...very few schools even give scholarships for cheerleading..those include Kentucky, Tennessee, MTSU, HPU, and Alabama! A few such as Kentucky and HPU give full rides...but most of the ones that give scholarship only give partial tuition! KINDA stinks!!

State is usually sometime around the 2nd weekend in November will let you know for sure when I know for sure! But it is not 100% that we are going to that one! We usually have one in december 1st or 2nd weekend and one in january or february! Will let you know specific dates when I find out!

Can we say SHUT OUT?!?! What happened to that McMinn defense that was gonna stop caldwell? I was a little disappointed that McMinn didn't play as well as yall said they were. But I was definitely pumped about the great defense from the owls! And of course the great offense who just kept puttin points up on the board!! WAY TO GO OWLS!! Good Luck in the future McMinn! It's been fun and kinda sad to see all this coming to an end! lol

...it's mere hours till game time! Anyone nervous? haha I got that nervous-anxious feeling!! But I am confident in the Owls and it seems like everyone else is too as they were picked to win across the board in the Chattanooga Times Free Press today! GO OWLS!!

OakRidge...you're mean! I think you are still just upset at Ooltewah from 2 years ago..when we beat you and won the region and ruined your perfect record! But you should try to be nicer b/c Ooltewah has a great program and atleast these McMinn guys have respect for that! I mean you don't have to like Ooltewah or Ooltewah fans, but you should respect the fans for being so faithful and the program, as we respect McMinn's program and Oak Ridge's! Oh yea and you shouldn't cuss either, b/c that hurts God's heart!

Calm down, drama, it's no big thing! I was just joking anyway. I was giving my fellow "Ooltewah Gal" a hard time, just because everyone makes fun of me b/c I am one of the only girls at Ooltewah to post on here (of course not anymore), so if anything that was just for her amusement...and not directed at you, and definitely not intended to be taken seriously..hince the "JK HAHA" after that sentence. But take it how you want. Thanks thumb Anyway back to the game. I think Ooltewah is gonna be all over this game. I think they are ready to prove that they can do more than beat "decent" teams and that they can hang with the good teams. We Ooltewah fans know they can do it, but it seems like they have to prove it to everyone else. I know that RB and ER defense isn't as good as McMinn's but I still think Caldwell will have an awesome game. This being said, I don't expect Ooltewah to totally dominate. Like I have said in almost every other post I've made on this thread, it is gonna be a close one!! GO BIG RED!!!

I feel bad for all the fans having to find a seat. I am glad I don't have to worry about finding a seat haha! Mnewballer...are you gonna make it back this weekend for the game? I think H (you know who that is lol) will be here. That is unless he decides to come in Saturday morning...but I think I have talked him into coming back Friday and coming to the game! I think Dewayne will do great this Friday...last week he played great, and that was his 2nd Varsity game ever...so he can only get better right! What was the point of that post? ANYWAY...5 days until the BiG gAmE!! I think the Ooltewah fans are anticipating this one more than Central last year...33 pages..and we still got 5 days, that is crazy!!! Yall have added 9 pages since I checked yesterday morning!! Of course I am gonna go with Ooltewah to win this one, but I definitely think it will be a close one!!! Should be a great game! Wonder if Stump on Sports will show up for the "Cheerleader Challenge" with us for the 3rd week...if anyone has caught stump, you know that the Ooltewah cheerleaders have dominated the last 2 weeks! Just had to add that little bit of info, even though it really has nothing to do with the game...but then again football wouldn't be as fun without us cheerleaders!! Just kidden!!

Well it seems to me like McMinn is the ones doing most of the trash talkin (not to say ooltewah isnt) but atleast Ooltewah is lookin at this realistically...most of us realize that either team could win this game and it all depends on who shows up next friday night. All you McMinn people are doing is talking about how bad yall are going to beat us and how we'd be lucky to even score 10 points? GIMME A BREAK! You know good and well that the Owls are capable of beating yall! We have done it before and we can do it again...and hopefully WILL do it again! Now if yall do beat us we will be able to take it b/c we know that both teams are really good and have a lot of potential. If we win though I don't want to hear some sorry excuses about why you didn't win...if we win it is because our guys played better, if you win it is because your guys played better. Oh and don't talk about Ooltewah as a city, school, or football team like it is something no one has ever heard of. Because you know better than that too!

Alright TribeGuy, who is the one being disrespectful? How is attacking our facilities, concessions, girls, and our freakin mascot doing anything for your football team. You are making yourself look ignorant that you have to go to something so pointless to defend your team. No one is jealous of your program...we have our own program that we take great pride in. The reason we think we can do well this year regardless of last years season was that last year was our rebuilding season...the 3 or 4 years before that Ooltewah has been on fire! And the reason we think we can beat McMinn is because WE CAN! I am not saying I know for a fact the owls will beat you but I know our guys are capable. And whoever wins it will be close. You are right we haven't played a team like McMinn yet and YOU also have not played a team like Ooltewah yet! I just hope your team does not think they are going to beat us so easily like your fans do. They better show up to play..because like I said before Ooltewah is not going to be easy to beat. Oh and a little trivia for you...it was your CHEROKEE INDIANS that named our town. Ooltewah is a Cherokee word meaning "owls nest"...so it only makes sense that our mascot would be the owl. And if you have a problem with it you can talk to your mascot about it lol!

Man, this thread has gotten pretty heated. And here is what I think...I think that every year the Ooltewah/McMinn game is one of the most challenging for both teams. I think either team could win this one, but of course I am going with my Owls. I know last year was a bit of a disappointment to everyone, but I see Ooltewah gettin it done this year. Everyone is talking like Red Bank is a horrible team and that is the only reason our guys beat them, although RB isn't that great, they are decent and definitely not horrible and i think 295 yd. against any team is pretty impressive. Like many Ooltewah fans have already said...Caldwell isn't our only good back. Everyone knows Marcus Williams and knows he is capable of great things. He can get the job done especially when it counts the most. As for your star McBride I don't know much about him but although he MIGHT be as fast as Dewayne I really doubt he is any faster. That kid can fly as we saw last week. Hydas is out with an injury right now and Im not sure but I think he will be back for the McMinn game next week. I expect good things from him after his showing at Farragut last season. The same goes for Lowdermilk! This game will definitely be close and I am pullin for Ooltewah. If McMinn happens to win don't expect a shut out like many of you McMinn fans are. Ooltewah will not be EASILY beaten by anyone, they are a tough team, and if you want to beat them your players better stay on their toes because they are not gonna be able to walk all over Ooltewah like you are saying! Let the better team win! GO OWLS!

Yea I definitely see Matt Peardon on that list, but anyway I agree that you can't really tell who is gonna be the best players after the first game. And you definitely need an offensive and defensive list because that is like trying to compare apples and oranges. I don't really know enough about football to know the best players in all of the Chattanooga area...I know quite a bit but I really only keep up with Ooltewah and the schools we play! But I DO know that Dewayne Caldwell is one heck of a running back! That kid is almost unstoppable! And I expect him to keep it up all season. I am proud to be his "candy girl" haha!

Just wondering where squads are going for competition this year and what division you will be competing in! Watch out for Ooltewah at State @ MTSU, Cheernation (Atlanta), Premier (Chattanooga) and maybe 1 or 2 more! They will be competing in the Large Varsity division @ the 2 nationals but not sure what division for State (b/c of their routine) But they are pretty OuTrAgEoUs and you don't want to miss them!

No I don't like cheering for wrestling at all! We used to have to do it but we don't anymore...the main reason we hate it is cause we just get in the way and the guys don't even want us there. The coaches just wanted us there, so that's why we had to do it. I think if a squad wants to go sit in the stands and maybe cheer from the stands or do cheers in between matches that is alright and that the wrestlers would appreciate it but being down there on the mat is so pointless...no one wants us there we are just in the way!

I was happy with what I saw last night! Except the couple fumbles...but I am gonna blame that on the rain. lol And as for Dewayne, he is on fire...but I think some credit should be given to the amazing girl who makes his candy bags..(cough cough) That goes for Marcus Williams, too!
