  1. Update when you can!!! I'm in Memphis, but would love to be at the game right now.
  2. Milan fans, the better team won saturday, so rest easy. And I'm not sure what "street brawl" you were watching on the MC defensive end, but I saw almost every time down the court that robust #42 beat and bang on Lauren March. It was appalling that the refs let that junk go....I was begginning to wonder if #42 thought that this was the 1980's all over again and she was taking on the MC football squad in another classic installment of "MC vs. Milan" playoff football!! Maybe Milan could've won if they had hit at least ONE FREAKIN THREE POINTER!!! Seriously!!!!!! how do you make it that far and be that horrendous of an outside shooting team!?!?!? I feel sorry for poor Poston. She has obviously carried the team on her back all year! She is quite a player!!!
  3. Lauren is a remarkable player and a joy to be around off the court!! She is a very engaging, funny, smart person. And I will now refuse to take any stock whatsoever in the Miss Basketball crap. She was the best player on the best team in the state (AA) and was not a finalist. WHAT A CROCK OF CRAPOLA!!!!!! If that game saturday had been played in my hood in MEMPHIS at the FedEx Forum, we students would have promptly rioted with a "LAUREN MARCH" chant during the little Miss BBall ceremony. It truely is a shame that she was hosed that badly. But, we got the only award that matters...... THE GOLD BALL /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  4. Congrats, Tigerettes!!! You proved that you were, in fact, the best team in the state in AA. You were the bridesmaid last year and had all the pressure on you with all 5 starters returning this year but you never waivered!!!! That school north of the Duck River (FHS) had themselves penciled in as Single A state champs for 07 and 08 after they slipped into one in 2006. They cracked under the pressure both years while you met expectations this year!!!!! Now maybe they'll come off their high horse and realize that the "epicenter" of high school girl's bball is not in chapel hill, TN. lol
  5. Shut up...This is the gayest thing I've ever heard. I can promise you Coach Steely cleared the bench. What else is he suppossed to do?? And one reason why MC is so good is that they show up with the mindset to dominate teams and not play down to their competition. So get rid of the sour grapes!! Idiot....
  6. 5 POINTS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? When I saw this thread on the message board, I thought it was some kind of misprint. Wow...5 points....... And it couldn't have happened to a better group of people....those hated page patriots!!! HAHAHAHAHA Go Tigers!!
  7. Thanks for the info, Pageman! And the Tigers keep rolling....Great job, fellas!!!!!! Marshall Co. has to be leading the state in 3 pointers made.....They had 10 Tuesday, and I think that for them that is very below average. In the games I have seen this year, they made around 16 in each game. That's pretty amazing for any high school team.
  8. I can't even think of the words to describe how happy I am that we DRILLED GC tonight!! They have absolutely owned us the last 5 years or so......This makes my weekend.lol Coach Tigert is a GREAT coach and is obviously getting the most out of our guys. Can't wait to see some games when I'm home on Christmas break. Congrats guys!!!!! Keep working hard! Go Tigers!!
  9. I really don't know what to make of this game either....I can honestly see this game playing out in about every scenario possible. Close game that could go either way, or a blowout either way. Several questions for both teams, especially Marshall Co. How will they respond after the throttling DL gave them? How fragile is their psyche? Do they still believe in themselves? How healthy are Hightower and O'neal? How will the Tiger skill players match up with guys have have just as much speed as them? After seeing GC at the Pigskin Preview, I thought they looked great. Their quarterback really looked like the real deal, and the rest of the team looked really strong. But, for whatever reason, they have struggled at times this year. Getting drilled by the same Columbia team that MC handled 14-3??? I don't know... BUT we know that they have the ATHLETES..... Hoping for a great game!! Go Tigers!!
  10. That's a statement I NEVER thought I would ever see on a CoachT message board! LOL My, my how things have turned around for the Tigers!! Can't wait for the game tommorrow night!!
  11. The Tigers should take care of buisness with no problems.
  12. Hey Big Country, I didn't listen to the game on the radio, so I'm curious how this game went. Was it out of hand early or did the Tigers just pull completely away in the second half? How did MC's offensive line look? That is the one area where it seems like MC would be somewhat vunerable, especially against a big, strong deffensive line.
  13. Q (Hightower) is having an outstanding year. I'm very happy for him. Coach Thomas is putting him in great positions to succeed. He is finally taking over games. Not only is he very talented and likely to play in the SEC, he is a GREAT guy. I graduated when he was a sophomore, and I can honestly tell you that he was one of the best locker room guys on the team. He's not selfish and doesn't look down on his teammates because he is so much better than him. He's very personable and I enjoy talking to him every time I get a chance to. I hope he stays on the right path. I wish him nothing but the best!! Go Tigers!
  14. Final Score: 40-3 The Tiger defense forced 5 turnovers, with 3 being taken back all the way for touchdowns. Clarksville NW: Rushing: 43 yards Passing:1-9, 4 yards 1 First Down Marshall County: Rushing: 172 yards Passing: 8-12, 69 yards Next up, Cheatam Co. HOMECOMING The Tigers have not won on Homecoming since 2003. I like our chances next week, although two years ago on MC's Homecoming the Cubs put a beat down on the Tigers. Tiger defense averaging 6 points a game. That's Joe George'esque'....
  15. The Tigers just scored again, this time on a fumble return by Cavalla O'neal to go up 39-0 with Stoltz tacking on the extra point to make it 40 nil. This was the Tigers' THIRD defensive touchdown. And for the second week in a row, the mercy rule is in effect for Marshall. I made the trip home from Memphis last week to see the game with the hated Page Patriots and was very impressed, although Page looked TERRIBLE, especially on offense. Coach Thomas has the team buying into his system. But I couldn't help but looking on the field last friday and thinking that this is the least talented time, especially across the line, in several years, but they are GETTING IT DONE. Hopefully this will continue! Go Tigers!
  16. (edit) Please remember this is a football board. VG
  17. I talked to some buddys who play football Friday night at the basketball game and they all had nothing but good things to say about Coach Thomas. They admitted that things were going to be tough, but they all seemed excited! FYI: One of those players was in fact D. Hightower, and he said he really likes Coach Thomas.... So any rumors of him quitting should be put to rest! Looks like everybody is getting on board and looking forward to what is hopefully a great season
  18. I finally found out Marshall Co.'s non-region games..... Clarksville NW Hickman Co. Columbia I found it interesting that Columbia actually pursued the game. It wasn't MC begging Columbia for the game. Usually a school that much bigger than another school doesn't try to aggressively pursue a game with said smaller school. Should be a good game that will draw a large crowd
  19. True. It's a shame, too..... the first three were all mental!
  20. No, they are not in 5-3A. It will be a non-region game. I've been asking for the schedule for a while but seems like nobody has the full schedule.
  21. Didn't know they were playing Columbia next year... Do you have the full schedule?
  22. AGREED! AGREED! AGREED! They routinely hold poweful offenses to very few points. When RA was at Hillsboro, Overton's defense NEARLY ALWAYS held the Burros to very few points. I watched Overton every year when my brother played at Shelbyville and the two teams were in that great region that included Hillsboro, Overton, Tullahoma, Shelbyville, and Columbia. I saw some GREAT Overton Defenses!!!
  23. Anything new concerning Hester and Lavergne? Does anybody know MC's schedule for next year?
  24. I've got a friend that graduated from JPII last year, and she said that he is a great guy and an extremely nice, well-rounded person. Best of luck to him, though I wish he were headed to Knoxville!
