Is this a prediction that Hester will be named head coach, or just saying that he will flip-flop and return to Lavergne as an assitant? Becuase technically he is now an assistant coach (and I presume has a teaching position) at MC, so I'm just curious.....

Not saying he does or doesn't have a chance, but will Tim Johnson apply???? I've heard several people say that he wants to be a *star* so will he change jobs again??

Yeah....so?? I didn't say anthing about MC in that post. I said that TM should be coach of the year, and that you were blindly picking GC players/coach for the awards. I ask you again how you could pick your coach over Coach McKnight and how he really rallied the troops and took them to the second round of the playoffs.

No, he is most def. not kidding!

I def. can't see him getting another job in the midstate. Too much baggage....too many headaches. If I had to bet I'd also say that he'll wind up in Memphis (my hood now ) Remember, he had a lot of success at Stratford (illegal players aside). He took a program that was way down and went 26-3 I believe in two years, even though the record books now show different. Put him at another Stratford-type school (i.e- middle of memphis) and I can CERTAINLY see him having success. And since it's Memphis, someone would hire him.

Very, very true As far as the 5-3A school goes, the people who hired him and the guy before him made two good hires on the surface. Guess they just didn't take into enough account that one is always wanting to be a star and be on the "rise" while the other could be just using them as a stepping stone to where he REALLY wants to go (LC). Go figure.....

WHAT!?!?!?!? Why would he want to leave LC for Science Hill?? I thought he was actually pretty close to retiring all together? Wow.....guess i missed that one. lol Wow.....guess those guys can't keep anybody. (So yeah i know which school and coach you're talking about ) You know.....I know there's a ton of tradition at LC, but to me that would seem like a lateral move. He'd be moving up to 5A and would have to play a LOT of great teams and programs (i.e. Riverdale, Franklin, etc.) There's tons of talent where he is now, and I think he's got more of a chance to advance in the playoffs consistantly at his current school. Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me......what do you think?

This post made me laugh. The legendary Coach Thompson leave Lincoln Co.??????????? HA. No chance. You're crazy. The man is a god in the minds of Southern Middle TN football fans. He is on his own time-table at Lincoln Co. and will retire when he feels like it, with NO INTENTION of going all the way up to who-knows-where Northeast TN. :
